    Wizja Kościoła jako komunii (łac. communio, grec. koinonia) jest wyraźnie obecna w dokumentach Vaticanum II i jawi się − według Jana Pawła II − jako wiodąca posoborowa koncepcja eklezjologiczna. Liczne wypowiedzi papieskie ukazują złożoną sytuację współczesnego świata, czemu szczególne świadectwo dają adhortacje, które ukazały się jako owoc zwoływanych przez Jana Pawła II synodów biskupów dla poszczególnych kontynentów. Zarówno te adhortacje, jak i kilka innych dokumentów Papieża pozwalają zrozumieć całość wizji eklezjologii komunii. U jej fundamentu jest komunia trynitarna Ojca i Syna w Duchu Świętym, czego owocem z kolei jest komunia ludzi z Bogiem i między sobą w Mistycznym Ciele Chrystusa. Ta komunia staje się udziałem ludzi przez wiarę i chrzest, a realizuje się stale szczególnie w Eucharystii. Według Jana Pawła II wizja Kościoła jako communio ma przynieść liczne owoce, jak pogłębione, integralne samorozumienie człowieka, misja i dialog Kościoła ze światem, co ma doprowadzić do głębokiej przemiany ludzkości. Dar komunii należy uznać za podstawowy dar Boga – Stwórcy i Zbawcy dla świata, który poprzez grzech utracił życiodajną więź z Bogiem i doznał głębokich podziałów wewnętrznych.

    Published on 25 May 1995, Ut unum sint was the first ever and remains to the date the only papal encyclical entirely dedicated to ecumenism. Written thirty years after the Second Vatican Council, it was an important step on the way in the reception in the life of the Church of the principles and norms on ecumenism outlined in the conciliar decree Unitatis redintegratio. The article proposes a re-reading of the encyclical twenty-five years after its publication. It begins with an overview of the ecumenical engagement of John Paul II, for whom the search for Christian unity was one of the pastoral priorities of his pontificate. The article continues with a presentation of the ecumenical situation at the time of the publication of Ut unum sint marked by a growing skepticism towards ecumenism within denominations and a certain stagnation within the ecumenical movement. It then presents the vision of the Church and its unity which animates the encyclical, namely the concept of communion (communio/koinonia). The article then presents some characteristics of the ecumenical situation today and delineates the important challenges such as lack of a common vision of the goal of the ecumenical movement and a shift in the ecumenical paradigm from full visible unity to mutual recognition. It concludes with arguing that explored anew in the ecumenical dialogue against the background of the current condition of world Christianity, Ut unum sint may be a source of inspiration for the search for a fresh vision for the ecumenical movement in the 21st century.

    The aim of the article is to present (selected) assumptions of anthropology that underlies the theology of the body of John Paul II. The author analyzes its main assumptions and confronts them with inadequate anthropology, which underlies the sexual revolution that is considered as distorting the sense of the human body in the light of Revelation. This study focuses on the analysis of the contents of the catechisms of John Paul II referring to texts about human relativity andthe role that the body plays in this context. The analysis does not include those texts that refer to the reality of the sin of the first people. The text also aims at emphasizing the importance of the theology of the body for modern man and his spiritual development.

    W artykule pt. Jan Paweł II jako homo viator. Refleksje literaturoznawcy w perspektywie nawiązań papieża do literatury pięknej podczas jego podróży apostolskich ukazano najpierw etymologię i znaczenie łacińskiego terminu homo viator. Zwrócono uwagę na jego znaczenie symboliczne. Przedstawiono Jana Pawła II jako człowieka, który pokazywał życie wieczne jako cel życia na ziemi i nauczał, że aby ten cel osiągnąć, trzeba budować communio personarum. Literatura piękna, którą cytował papież podczas swoich pielgrzymek, stanowi ilustrację tej tezy. Ojciec Święty, przywołując słowa pisarzy i poetów, zachęcał do troski o właściwe relacje w trzech wymiarach: do siebie samego, do innych ludzi, do Boga.
    This article explores the etymology and symbolic significance of the Latin term homo viator and its application to Pope John Paul II, who taught that eternal life is the goal of human existence, and that in order to achieve it, one must build communio personarum. The article focuses on the literature that the Pope cited during his pilgrimages as an illustration of this teaching. By quoting the words of writers and poets, the Holy Father encouraged concern for proper relationships with oneself, with other people, and with God.

    Artykuł podejmuje temat reinterpretacji teologii imago Dei według modelu nupcjalnego. Rozważania te zostały wpisane we współczesny kontekst rozwoju teologii obrazu Bożego. Wychodząc od myśli Soboru Watykańskiego II, ukazana została możliwość uznania, że podstawowym wymiarem bycia obrazem Bożym jest strukturalne otwarcie człowieka na relacje. Uwzględniając postulat chrystologicznej reorientacji teologii, wraz z twierdzeniem o komunijnym charakterze bycia obrazem Bożym, pokazano zalety i konsekwencje takiej reinterpretacji. Główne wnioski dotyczą wieloaspektowego podkreślenia znaczenia relacji, zwłaszcza tych kościelnych, w realizacji bycia imago Dei. Szczególny walor tej reinterpretacji został ukazany na przykładzie teologii małżeństwa.
    The article deals with the topic of reinterpretation of theology imago Dei according to the nuptial mystery model. These considerations were included in the contemporary context of the development of the theology of the image of God. Starting from the thoughts of the Second Vatican Council, there was shown the possibility of recognizing that the basic dimension of being the image of God is the structural openness of man to relationships. Taking into account the postulate of Christological reorientation of theology, along with the statement about the communion-like nature of being the image of God, the advantages and consequences of such a reinterpretation were shown. The main conclusions concern the multi-faceted emphasis on the importance of relations, especially ecclesiastical, in the realization of being imago Dei. The particular value of this reinterpretation was shown on the example of the theology of marriage.

    Cet article est une analyse des homélies et discours de Jean-Paul II sur la famille et le mariage en Afrique. Le Saint Père présente la famille et le mariage comme originaire du plan de Dieu. La famille et le mariage participent et se réalisent uniquement dans le dessein divin. L’objectif principal de l’article est de montrer leurs origines transcendantales afin de pouvoir agir efficacement contre la polygamie et d’autres maux, qui règnent dans diverses cultures africaines. Cet article est une approche comparative de l’unité des personnes dans le mariage et dans la famille comme reflet de la Sainte Trinité et de la présence sacramentelle du Christ dans l’Église. Il vise aussi à montrer comment la question de la famille et du mariage (décrite par Jean-Paul II) apparaît comme une voix d’espérance pour la restauration du projet de Dieu sur ces réalités en Afrique, dans les dimensions sociologiques, anthropologiques et théologiques.
    This article is an analysis of John Paul II’s homilies and speeches on family and marriage in Africa. The Holy Father presents the family and marriage as originating from theplan of God. The family and marriage life is a participation in the divine plan of God. The main objective of the article is to show their transcendent origin in order to be able to acteffectively against polygamy and other evils, which prevail in various African cultures. This article is a comparative approach to the unity of persons in marriage and in the family as a reflection of the Holy Trinity and the sacramental presence of Christ in the Church. It also aims to show how the issue of family and marriage (described by John Paul II)appears as a voice of hope for the restoration of God’s project on these realities in Africa, in the sociological, anthropological and theological dimensions.
