freedom - Opis:
- The argument which is now going on in Europe and which concerns Christian values and the concept of social life is nothing else, but the argument (although sometimes veiled) which regards man himself It is not true that it focuses only on the role of religion and position of the Church in a democratic state. The essential issue, in fact, is the full truth about man. No one who is ready to take up responsibility for the shape of human life - whether in individual or social context - can pretend that he does not understand the crucial idea of this argument.Truth is the boundary of freedom and beyond this boundary there is no more freedom, but destructive arbitrariness alone. Breaking the bond between freedom and truth, the bond which makes a human person even more himself, is equivalent to questioning the wisdom of the drama of Redemption. The Ethos of Redemption is the meeting of truth and freedom in a man. Divine friendship towards people consists in God's introducing us into the sphere of confidence, the sphere of confidence being truth. Christ did all to convince us about the importance of the answer which man should give in the conditions of inner freedom. Only then can we speak about 'veritatis splendor' which is so essential for human dignity.
