    Na początku pragnę wyrazić moje uznanie dla P. T. Organizatorów tego sympozjum poświęconego kluczowym zagadnieniom chrystologicznym. Jest to koncentrowanie się na centralnych wydarzeniach chrześcijaństwa. Jezus Chrystus jest podstawą, centrum i osnową życia chrześcijańskiego, całego chrześcijaństwa, a chrystologia – kluczowym działem teologii. Wobec atomizującej się niekiedy teologii trzeba wracać do centrum, korzeni, źródeł. To jest celem sympozjum organizowanego przez Księży Sercanów. Ze swej strony wyrażam radość i zarazem wdzięczność za zaproszenie mnie na nie, bym się podzielił moimi przemyśleniami w zakresie współczesnego uzasadniania wiarygodności Boskiego posłannictwa Jezusa Chrystusa. Rozważania na ten temat zawrę w następujących punktach: najpierw ukażę współczesne zainteresowanie osobą Jezusa Chrystusa, w którym uwidoczni się aktualność chrystologii; następnie zarysuje się cele teologii fundamentalnej i sposoby uzasadniania wiarygodności nadprzyrodzonego charakteru chrześcijaństwa, po czym zarysuje się przeobrażenia zachodzące w dzisiejszej teologii fundamentalnej, zwłaszcza w zakresie metodologicznej, co będzie stanowiło dobrą podstawę do kluczowych rozważań. Wreszcie zaprezentuje się typy uzasadnień Boskiego posłannictwa Jezusa Chrystusa.

    Celem niniejszego artykułu jest ukazanie staurologicznej wiarygodności genezy Kościoła. Tak postawiony problem został rozpatrzony w trzech punktach. Kolejno zaprezentowano następujące zagadnienia: eklezjalne aspekty królewskiej godności Jezusa (I); eklezjotwórczy charakter wydarzeń na Gol- gocie (II) oraz Pentekostalny aspekt śmierci Jezusa (III). Ukazując wiarygodność Kościoła w jego genezie trzeba mieć na uwadze złożoną strukturę Eklezji: naturalną i nadprzyrodzoną, historyczną i ponadhistoryczną, widzialną i niewidzialną. Właściwe ukazanie wiarygodności Eklezji wymaga zatem dostrzeżenia widzialnych elementów jego genezy oraz poznania i zrozumienia nadanej im przez Boga treści i historiozbawczego sensu.

    The aim of the article is to demonstrate the significance of testimony in the argumentation for the credibility of Christianity. The issue was presented in five paragraphs. First, the need for the necessary grounds for the credibility of Christianity were laid out. Second, faith as a personal experience of the encounter between men and God is presented. Third, the ecclesial character of testimony is expounded upon. Fourth, a section deals with the issue of recognizing the testimony. Fifth, the motivational value of testimony is considered. Taken together, the analysis demonstrates that Christian testimony, a fruit of living faith, is a sign for the world, pointing to the person of Jesus Christ. Christian lifestyle begs the question about the motives of Christian behavior and is the starting point in martyrological argumentation for the credibility of Christianity.

    Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie możliwości zbudowania oraz wskazanie metodologicznych uwarunkowań argumentu inkarnacyjnego przy zastosowaniu metody psychologiczno-egzystencjalnej. Konstruowanie argumentu inkarnacyjnego odbywa się dwuetapowo. Najpierw poddaje się analizie życiową sytuację człowieka, a następnie przedstawia się sposoby jej rozwiązania. Ponieważ współczesny człowiek nie jest w stanie poradzić sobie z wieloma problemami egzystencjalnymi, dlatego szukanie odpowiedzi odbywa się na płaszczyźnie Objawienia Bożego. Zrozumienie prawdy o człowieku oraz sensu ludzkich dziejów jest możliwe dzięki misterium Wcielenia. W Jezusie Chrystusie, Wcielonym Synu Bożym, możemy odnaleźć pełne oraz ostateczne rozwiązanie egzystencjalnych problemów ludzkiego życia. W artykule wskazano także na potrzebę powiązania argumentu inkarnacyjnego z innymi argumentami za wiarygodnością chrześcijaństwa.
    The aim of the article is to present the possibility of constructing and to indicate the methodological determinants of the incarnational argument using the psychological--existential method. Constructing the incarnation argument takes place in two stages. First, the human situation is analysed and the ways of solving it are presented. Because modern man is unable to cope with many existential problems, the search for answers takes place on the plane of Divine Revelation. Understanding the truth about man and the meaning of human history is possible through the mystery of the Incarnation. In Jesus Christ, Incarnate Son of God, we can find complete and ultimate solution to the existential problems of human life. The article also points to the need to link the incarnation argument with other arguments for the credibility of Christianity.

    Artykuł podejmuje kwestię rezurekcyjnej wiarygodności Kościoła. Temat został zrealizowany na trzech etapach. Najpierw wykazano rezurekcyjną tożsamość Kościoła, która wiąże się z jego genezą oraz stanowi o absolutnej wyjątkowości Eklezji na przestrzeni historii. Na drugim etapie zaprezentowano Eklezję, jako ikonę zmartwychwstałego Pana. Kategoria ikony pozwoliła uwyraźnić dwupłaszczyznową strukturę Kościoła (widzialną i niewidzialną, historyczną i misteryjną) oraz ukazać Eklezję jako Ciało zmartwychwstałego Pana. Na koniec – na bazie wcześniejszych rozważań – uwypuklono te elementy, które mogą pomóc w rozpoznaniu rezurekcyjnej wiarygodności Kościoła. Właściwości wiarygodności rezurekcyjnej Kościoła są złożone, posiadają płaszczyznę dostrzegalną i misteryjną zarazem. Dlatego warunkiem koniecznym w rozpoznaniu rezurekcyjnej wiarygodności Eklezji (analogicznie do poznania samego Kościoła) jest równoczesne zaangażowanie rozumu i wiary.
    The article addresses the issue of resurrection credibility of the Church. This was achieved in three steps. First, the resurrection identity of the Church was demonstrated as it is associated with its Genesis and determines the absolute uniqueness of the Ecclesia in history. Second, the Ecclesia was presented as the icon of the Risen Lord. The category of icon made it possible to emphasize the Church’s dual structure (visible and invisible, historical and mysterious) and show the Ecclesia as the Body of the Risen Lord. Finally, based on the previous considerations, those elements were underscored which could help one to discern the resurrection credibility of the Church. The qualities of the Church’s resurrection credibility are complex, they are both visible and mysterious; therefore the essential condition for discerning the resurrection credibility of the Ecclesia (analogically to knowing the Church herself) is the simultaneous involvement of both reason and faith.

    Niniejsze opracowanie ukazuje pneumatologiczną wiarygodność Kościoła. Cel ten został zrealizowany w trzech punktach. Najpierw zaprezentowano wydarzenie Pięćdziesiątnicy jako eklezjogenetyczny dar Ducha Świętego. Następnie ukazano pneumatologiczną ikoniczność Kościoła. W trzecim punkcie wyeksplikowano znaki pneumatologicznej wiarygodności Eklezji. Holistyczna prezentacja obecności i działania Ducha Świętego w Kościele – zarówno w jego genezie, jak również w permanentnym urzeczywistnianiu się w historii – stanowi podstawę do wykazania jego absolutnej wyjątkowości, co jest możliwe przy równoczesnym udziale ratio i fides. Pneumatologiczna wiarygodność Kościoła jest ściśle powiązana z innymi argumentami budowanymi w ramach teologii fundamentalnej, np. skrypturystycznym, rezurekcjonistyczny, agapetologicznym, martyrologicznym, prakseologicznym, sperancyjnym, werytatywnym czy ze świętości. W argumentach tych trzeba jeszcze mocniej uwyraźniać aspekt pneumatologiczny.
     The aim of this paper is to demonstrate the pneumatological credibility of the Church, a goal achieved via three lines of analysis. First, the event of Pentecost is presented as an ecclesio-genetic gift of the Holy Spirit. Then the pneumatological iconicity of the Church is shown. In the third point, the essential signs constituting the pneumatological credibility of Ecclesia are explained. The holistic presentation of the presence and action of the Holy Spirit in the Church – both in its genesis and in its permanent realisation in history – is the basis for demonstrating its absolute uniqueness, which is possible with the simultaneous participation of ratio and fides. The pneumatological credibility of the Church is closely linked to other kinds of arguments found within the framework of fundamental theology, e.g. scriptural, resurrectionist, agapetological, martyrological, praxeological, sperantist, veritative, or the argument from holiness. In all these arguments, the pneumatological aspect must be made even clearer.

    Artykuł ukazuje funkcje zmartwychwstania Jezusa Chrystusa. Są to: funkcja motywacyjna, objawieniowa, chrystologiczna, zbawcza, wiarotwórcza, eklezjotwórcza i antropologiczna. Ponieważ wymienione funkcje wzajemnie się dopełniają, implikują i uzupełniają, zmartwychwstanie należy ukazywać holistycznie, łącznie z jego osobowym centrum – Jezusem Chrystusem. Całościowa, a zarazem wieloaspektowa, prezentacja zmartwychwstania uwyraźnia wyjątkowy charakter chrześcijaństwa, którego sercem jest Jezus Chrystus, który umarł, zmartwychwstał i żyje.
    The article aims at the presentation of the functions fulfilled by Jesus Christ's resurrection. The following functions have been presented and discussed in the article: the motivating one, the revelatory one, Christological one, salvific one, faith-creating one, church-creating one and anthropological one. Presented functions complement, entail and supplement one another. For that reason the resurrection should be presented holistically together with its personal core – Jesus Christ. Comprehensive, and at the same time multifaceted, presentation of the resurrection, highlights the unique character of Christianity with Jesus Christ, who died, rose from the dead and lives, as its core.

    Opis:
    Fundamental Theology is scientific discipline which ex professo treats about justifying the credibility of Christianity. This discipline is about the foundations of faith and justifies credibility of Divine Revelation which has been fulfilled in Jesus Christ and lasts in the Church. Fundamental Theology would like to make Christian faith reasonable as it shoud be because a man is reasonable and free person full of dignity. Contemporary Fundamental Theology not only makes the traditional argumentation reacher but also tries to find new arguments for the credibility of Christianity. This article contents following issues: 1. justifying the credibility of Christianity as the aim of Fundamental Theology; 2. some projects rejecting the necessity of justifying the credibility of Christianity; 3. traditional arguments for the credibility of the Revelation fulfilled in Jesus Christ; 4. justifying in modern Fundamental Theology. The process of justifying in Fundamental Theology means searching or making arguments, reasons, for supernatural character of Christianity. Because every argument shows the Revelation and faith only partially, so each of them cannot fulfill the whole task. Fundamental Theology needs many arguments. Presenting lots of them Fundamental Theology is able to justify Christian faith more fully.

    On the feast of St Andrew the Apostle, on November 30 2007 His Holiness Pope BenedictXVI promulgated the encyclical letter Spe salvi. The papal document is a proclamation of the Gospel of hope. Life devoid of hope is the most acute problem of modern times. Benedict XVI, reading this „sign of the times” points to the need of regaining hope, as it is hope only that gives meaning to human life and history. Sending the message of hope he emphasizes that man may find the lost hope only in God who is a certain and lasting foundation of every man’s great hope. In the present paper Christianity's hopeful credibility is shown in the light of Benedict XVI's encyclical letter Spe salvi. The issue is shown in the following paragraphs: 1. Anti-hopeful atmosphere of modern times; 2.Hope revealed in Jesus Christ; 3. Hopeful character of the Christian testimony. The message of hope proclaimed by the Church allows modern man to overcome his despair, his doubt about the meaning of life, the lack of perspectives in his life, especially in the ultimate dimension. Christian hope helps man to be liberated from the feeling of hopelessness and from the lack of a vision of the future. Christianity's hopeful credibility is realized by the testimony given by Christ's confessors. The testimony becomes credible when Christians live with the hope they are given by God in their everyday lives. They are God's sign for the world through their sensibility to those situations that may deprave man of hope. The message of hope is convincing for the world when Christians' life is marked with faithful waiting for their final meeting with Christ who will come in glory.

    Celem artykułu jest ukazanie miłosierdzia w funkcji eklezjotwórczej. Przeprowadzone analizy pozwalają stwierdzić, że miłosierdzie stanowi o tożsamości Kościoła, gdyż warunkuje jego zaistnienie, decyduje o jego kształcie na przestrzeni historii oraz świadczy o jego  wiarygodności.
    The aim of the article is to show mercy in its ecclesiogenic function. The analyses carried out lead to the conclusion that mercy determines the identity of the Church, since it conditions its existence, decides its shape in history and proves its credibility.

    Celem niniejszego artykułu jest zarysowanie problematyki prakseologicznej wiarygodności Kościoła w ujęciu papieża Franciszka. Po wykazaniu chrystyczności Kościoła, zostały omówione cztery prakseologiczne znaki wiarygodności Kościoła. Najpierw przedstawiono świętość, którą Franciszek określa jako najpiękniejsze oblicze Kościoła. W kolejnym punkcie ukazano radość chrześcijańską, jako znak wiarygodności Kościoła. Następnie zaprezentowano Franciszkowe pragnienie Kościoła ubogich i dla ubogich. Na koniec zostało odsłonięte ekologiczne oblicze Eklezji. Powyższe rozważania doprowadziły do stwierdzenia, że zaproponowana przez papieża Franciszka prakseologiczna wiarygodność w sposób wyraźny i przekonujący odsłania przed współczesnym człowiekiem Kościół Chrystusowy. Franciszkowe novum uwidacznia się m.in. w jego stylu nauczania. Sposób przekazywania przez niego ważnych prawd wiary i życia moralnego jest prosty, bezpośredni, bogaty w metafory oraz żywe i plastyczne obrazy zaczerpnięte z codziennego życia. Papież nie tyle zatrzymuje się na teoretycznym ich pogłębianiu, ile ukazuje praktyczne ich zastosowanie, udziela prostych i użytecznych wskazówek, które pomagają w życiowym zaangażowaniu w życie wiary. Tym samym eklezjologiczność Franciszkowego przesłania cechuje eklezjalna praksis. Takie prakseologiczne ukierunkowanie eklezjologii otwiera nowe perspektywy badawcze przed teologią fundamentalną, która ukazując wiarygodność Kościoła powinna więcej skupiać się na jego chrystyczności oraz inspirować się życiem wierzących. Papieża Franciszka prakseologiczne ukazywanie wiarygodności Kościoła uwidacznia się także w tym, że mówi on o Kościele z zachwytem, pietyzmem i miłością – jednocześnie nauczając w prawdzie, nie unika tematów trudnych i bolesnych – gdyż Kościół kocha i ma świadomość wielkiej odpowiedzialności za całą wspólnotę eklezjalną.
    The aim of this article is to outline issues related to the praxeological credibility of the Church as seen by Pope Francis. After demonstrating the Christic nature of the Church, the author discusses the four praxeological signs of the Church’s credibility. First, her holiness is presented, which Francis describes as the Church’s most beautiful face. Next, Christian joy as a sign of the Church’s credibility is presented. Then the author shows Pope Francis’ desire for the Church to be poor and for the poor. Finally, the ecological face of Ecclesia is uncovered. These considerations lead to the conclusion that praxeological credibility proposed by Francis clearly and convincingly reveals the Christ’s Church to modern man. This Francis’ novelty is manifested, among others, in his teaching style. The way he communicates the truths of the faith and moral life, which are important to him, is simple and direct, abundant in metaphors and vivid and lively images taken from everyday life. Rather than theoretically elaborating on them, the Pope demonstrates their practical application; he gives simple and useful tips that us to commit to a life of faith. Thus, the ecclesiological character of Francis’ message is characterised by ecclesial praxis. Such a praxeological orientation of ecclesiology opens new research perspectives on fundamental theology, which – while showing the Church’s credibility – should focus more on her Christic nature and be inspired by the lives of the faithful. Pope Francis’ praxeological presentation of the Church’s credibility is evident also in that he speaks of the Church with admiration, reverence and love. At the same time, while teaching in truth, he does not avoid difficult and painful subjects because he loves the Church and is aware of her great responsibility for the entire ecclesial community.

    The article presents the Church’s origins from Christ as the basis of her uniqueness. Christ wanted to found the Church and gave her a particular structure and permanent actualization of the Ecclesia in history. Thus, the Ecclesia totally belongs to Christ, both in her origin and in her permanent actualization and in carrying out of the salvific mission. The origins from Christ are also an essential element of the Church’s credibility.

    The aim of this article is to show the achievements of the Lublin School of Fundamental Theology in the field of Christology. The first part of this article presents a short outline of Christological research, with the simultaneous focus on the most important scientific publications of the Lublin centre in the field of Christology. The second part discusses the essential features of the Lublin Fundamental Christology.
