Opis:: The subject of the article is an analysis of the EULEX Kosovo mission’s role, as an example of international cooperation in combating the organized crime in the area of former ethnic conflict. The above mentioned mission is considered as one of the most important acts of realization of the EU Common Foreign and Security Policy, and it has been playing both important and positive role in term of combating organized crime, which belongs to the crucial problems hindering the normalization of situation in Kosovo. The analysis being carried out shows that the presence of international entities in this country is still required for mini mizing the threat from the organized crime.

Opis:: 2014 marked the 600th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Poland and Turkey. The related celebration has been perceived as a way to broaden bilateral relations between the two nations, as collaboration has not fully achieved its economic potential. The past 200 years of Polish-Turkish relations depicted in this article stand as a remarkable example of cooperation between two different cultures and traditions. Recent Polish-Turkish relations as seen in a broader European context represent the emergence of a “new beginning” of opportunity for both nations. Poland has a chance to become an intermediary nation between the EU and Turkey and to be involved in the creation of a new type of relationship between Turkey and the EU.

Opis:: W 2013 r. chiński prezydent Xi Jingping ogłosił inicjatywę określaną jako Nowy Jedwabny Szlak. Projekt ten zakłada połączenia komunikacyjne między Chinami a innymi częściami świata (krajami Afryki, Europy i Bliskiego Wschodu). Chińska inicjatywa zbiegła się w czasie z zacieśnieniem współpracy gospodarczej między Polską a Chinami. Polska stała się jednym z krajów, które biorą udział w rozwoju Nowego Jedwabnego Szlaku. Wzajemna współpraca może przynieść wiele korzyści zarówno stronie chińskiej, jak również Polsce. Występuje wiele czynników wpływających pozytywnie na współpracę obu krajów. Można jednak wskazać również rozbieżności, w szczególności o charakterze społecznym. Istnienie słabych stron wymaga podejmowania aktywnych działań, które spowodują, że nie tylko Chiny, ale również Polska będzie w przyszłości beneficjentem realizowanej inicjatywy Nowego Jedwabnego Szlaku.
In 2013 the Chinese president Xi Jingping announced the New Silk Road initiative. The main goal of the project is to build transportation connections between China and other parts of the world (especially: African, European, and Middle East countries). The initiative coincided with the tightening of economic cooperation between Peoples Republic of China and Republic of Poland. Poland became one of the New Silk Road participants. There are many factors exerting positive impact on the cooperation, which is able to bring in the future many benefits for both countries, China and Poland. However, there are indicated some discrepancies between the countries as well, especially of social nature. The weaknesses require active efforts, providing that not only China, but Poland as well will be the net beneficiary of the New Silk Road initiative.

Opis:: Artykuł mieści się w szerokiej problematyce związanej z istotą stosunków między międzyrządowymi organizacjami międzynarodowymi. Na tle typologii uwzględniającej zakres i charakter reprezentacji UE oraz jej państw członkowskich w różnych organizacjach omówiono w nim najważniejsze zagadnienia związane z rozwojem i istotą stosunków między WE/UE i FAO po uzyskaniu przez WE członkostwa w tej organizacji w 1991 r. W związku z tym na tle zarysu ewolucji stosunków między obu organizacjami dokonano charakterystyki statusu UE w FAO oraz przeanalizowano zasady funkcjonowania wewnętrznego systemu koordynacji działań UE i jej państw członkowskich w związku z ich aktywnością podejmowaną na forum FAO z uwzględnieniem dwóch okresów, tj. od uzyskania członkostwa EWG w FAO w 1991 r. do momentu wejścia w życie Traktatu Lizbońskiego oraz po wejściu w życie reformy lizbońskiej w ramach UE.(abstrakt oryginalny)
The article addresses issues from the broad sphere of relations between intergovernmental international organisations. Against the background of typology taking into account the extent and nature of the representation of the EU and its Member States in various organisations, the article discusses the most important issues connected with the development and nature of the relations between the EC/ EU and FAO after the Community obtained membership in this organisation in 1991. In this context and against the background of the evolution of the relations between the two organisations, the article characterises the status of the EU within FAO and analyses the principles underlying the functioning of the internal system of coordinating the actions of the EU and its Member States with regard to their activity in the FAO, taking into account two periods, namely the period between granting the FAO membership to the EEC in 1991 and the entry into force of the Treaty of Lisbon as well as the period after the entry into force of the Lisbon reform.(original abstract)

Opis:: This paper intends to answer the question of how Sino-Indian controversies, specifically relations between India and the US, and Sino-Russian cooperation influence the ties between Russia and India. The paper offers an analysis of the key fields of cooperation between Russia and India, which are mainly defined by a strong interdependence in a number of areas, such as military and technical cooperation and nuclear energy. Through the lens of the neorealist paradigm, the current relations between Russia and India are studied in the context of each country's relations with the US and the PRC. The balance of power in Asia is shifting towards China due to its dynamic foreign policy and economic expansion during the past decade. As a result, China's increasing activities in Asia reduce India's potential for development, while a worsening confrontation between the US and Russia forces Moscow to drift towards Beijing. The paper concludes that the actual cooperation between Russia and India is mutually beneficial and to a large extent supports New Delhi's ambitions to contain a shift in the balance of power in Asia. However, the escalating Sino-Indian controversies and a growing rapprochement between Russia and China could cause a deterioration in relations between Russia and India. This, in turn, could predetermine India's choice in favour of a close rapport with the US in the longer term.(original abstract)
