Opis:: Domaniów is a small town in the Oławski region in Lower Silesia. After the Second World War a large group of former residents of Usznia, a small village in the Eastern Borderlands of the Second Polish Republic, settled down in Domaniów. The author presents the accounts of five people who participated in the relocation process. The memories also include the time of their childhood and teenage years. The interviewees described how they remembered their family village, the most significant events from the time of war (German and Russian occupation), the preparation for relocation and the journey to the West – into the unknown. The accounts also show why Domaniów, which was known as Domajewice at that time, was selected as the settlement place, how it looked and what were the relationships with the Germans who still lived there. The author also describes the culture and traditions brought from the East and how they are continued to this day. The memories were set in a historical context based on the subject literature and archival materials.

Opis:: The present article characterizes the German and Soviet policies towards the Polish gentry in the years 1939-1945. Analysis of the measures taken by the two totalitarian regimes towards this circle enjoying a high prestige in Poland in the period between the two World Wars gives precious information about the political aims concerning the social and material elite of the conquered country that they wanted to achieve. A comparison was made of measures taken by the two invaders that led: in the Soviet zone – to liquidation of the gentry as a social layer; and in the German one – to weakening their position and their isolation in the Polish society. The land property was used by the Nazis for exploiting farmers in the GG, whereas the Soviet authorities used it as a confirmation of the necessity “to overthrow the old order” on the occupied Polish territories. In practice this meant liquidation of the gentry's property by nationalizing and appropriating both movables and fixed property, which was often accompanied by illegal seizure and devastation.

Opis:: Die vorliegende Arbeit über die Bischöfliche Kurie in Luzk (1926-1939) bildet einen Beitrag zur Erforschung der Kanzleien kirchlicher Institutionen in der Zwischenkriegszeit. Die Ergebnisse der Untersuchungen können auch der richtigen Bearbeitung des Teil der Archivalien der Diözese Luzk dienen, die nach dem 2. Weltkrieg auf polnischem Gebiet verblieben sind. Darunter befindet sich auch eine fragmentarische Dokumentation, die von der Bischöflichen Kurie angefertigt wurde - insbesondere von der mit administrativen Aufgaben betrauten Abteilung, d.h. vom Generalvikariat. Diese heute bereits archivierten Akten bilden (zusammen mit den Akten des Bischöflichen Gerichts) ein Archivensemble, in dem die Akten des Generalvikariats eine von zwei Untergruppen bilden ( die zweite bilden die Akten des Bischöflichen Gerichts), während die Akten der einzelnen Sektionen (pro negotiis iurisdictionis voluntariae) in der Struktur dieses Ensembles Serien bilden werden.

Opis:: This text provides the source edition of three accounts recorded in 2013 concerning the crimes of Ukrainian nationalists committed during World War II against Poles in Volhynia and Eastern Galicia, referred to as the Volhynia Massacre. Feliks Trusiewicz, Tadeusz Szewczyk, and Maria Maleńczak were eyewitnesses of the genocide, lost people close to them, and had their lives threatened by their neighbours and sometimes even members of their own mixed Polish-Ukrainian families. They recount their dramatic memories of those events as well as their interpretations of the causes of the Polish-Ukrainian conflict. They also highlight the uniqueness of the phenomena, which took on a different path in Volhynia itself and in Eastern Galicia as a whole.
Tekst stanowi edycję źródłową trzech relacji zarejestrowanych w 2013 r., dotyczących zbrodni ukraińskich nacjonalistów dokonanych w latach II wojny światowej na Polakach na Wołyniu i w Galicji Wschodniej, określanych mianem zbrodni wołyńskiej. Feliks Trusiewicz, Tadeusz Szewczyk i Maria Maleńczak, którzy na własne oczy widzieli ofiary ludobójstwa, utracili w ten sposób bliskie osoby i doświadczyli zagrożenia życia ze strony sąsiadów, a czasem nawet członków własnych polsko-ukraińskich rodzin, przytaczają dramatyczne wspomnienia tamtych wydarzeń, ale też własne interpretacje źródeł polsko-ukraińskiego konfliktu. Zwracają też uwagę na specyfikę zjawiska, które przebiegało w odmienny sposób na samym Wołyniu i w Galicji Wschodniej.
