Opis:
To optimize the everyday functioning of a city, urban authorities can implement smart city tools and solutions. Mobility is a typical field associated with the concept of a smart city. It is interesting to take a closer look at the solutions applied through the information accessible on the official websites, while exploring, at the same time, the possibilities offered by new research tools. The main objective of this work is to establish the significance of the information and communication technologies (ICT) in the process of creating smart mobility in a smart city, based on the texts posted on official websites. Using the natural language processing (NLP) methods and tools offered by the CLARIN.EU infrastructure, we verified dominant connotations with the mobility in the cities recognized as smart. The cities sample is the extract from the existing smart city rankings. To fulfil our goal, we searched for an answer to the question: What information about ICT solutions is posted on the websites of the studied cities and in what thematic contexts are they used? We looked for the results of the smart city rankings, referring to the official websites of the selected cities (a random selection from a total of 174 cities). The results show that mobility forms a distinct topic in smart cities communication, covering various kinds of transport solutions and systems, with a strong focus on the project side of this activity. The results are the part of the research “The smart city 4.0 maturity model,” conducted at the Department of Marketing and Logistics UO.

Opis:
This study examined the ICT integration used by student teachers from a public university during their teaching practices in four high schools in Indonesia. This qualitative inquiry with a case study approach focused on video-based observations and focus group discussions as techniques of data collection. We utilized random sampling for the video-based observation and purposive sampling for the focus group discussion with 60 participants in the discussion and 10 classes in the observation. We organized our analysis and discussion around the field facts and participants’ perceptions on the contexts whether or not the integration of ICT was carried out in their pre-teaching practices. Despite the fact that most participants who were student teachers informed that they had good competency levels and experience in the use of technology and believed that technology would have many benefits in improving their teaching performance, the findings of this study showed that they did not integrate ICT in their teaching practices. The major reason for this lack of technology use was the school condition. The findings can be a reference for the importance of a systematic and comprehensive development of method of the teaching practice in the 21st century to help the appropriate transition of student teachers, as they will become professional teachers in the future.

The development and universal access to modern information and communication technologies have contributed to the popularization of interactive devices. Solutions tailored to individual customer needs have become an indispensable condition for the development of competitive advantage. The main objective of the publication is to provide an innovative project in the area of public transport – Poland’s first outdoor media stop. The paper presents the functionality of the applied tools dedicated to business customers. For the purpose of achieving the aim of the paper, desk research studies were conducted along with direct interview with the co-founder of GLIP Ltd. – the originator and creator of the presented information and communication solutions. The publication is of research and analysis character and the presented case study can provide a contribution to the in-depth research in the area of technology start-ups.

Before COVID-19 (for decades), the need to use ICT in education was po[1]stulated and suggested. Research carried out in this area resulted from the need to understand what technologies are potentially available for use in education, including the teaching and learning of mathematics. One important issue still to be resolved is whether and how to support children in their mathematical education using technology. Aim. In the last three to four decades, many technological changes have taken place that have affected the world, the family and the relationships between family members. In order to determine the impact of information and communication technology on the family and its members, and how much time the research participants spend using modern technology, a survey was conducted in which 160 respondents (parents) participated. Methods. The research used a measuring instrument designed precisely for the purposes of this research. It consisted of three independent variables (gender, parental age and child's age) and nine dependent variables grouped into three sets: electronic media and time of their use, the impact of modern technology on family relationships and impact on the health of the children of the research participants. The Likert-type scale, adapted to the needs of this research, was used. Results. The research results show: the respondents' answers regarding the variable of “How much time your child spends using information and communication technologies (ICT)" are statistically significant (c2 = 48.650, p < .000); the correlation between the variables ("Gender" and "Do you talk to your children about the negative impact of ICT") is r = .180 and is significant at the .05 level; (3) the respondents' answers regarding the variable ("The knowledge of ICT in the early childhood is essential") are statistically significant (c2 = 43.438, p < .000); (4) the correlation between the variables ("The use of ICT affects family relationships" and "It affects the health of the child") is r = .194 and is significant at the .05 level. Conclusion. Children no longer live under the constant supervision of their parents, but are given the freedom to develop, think and form opinions independently. As a result, they are increasingly left to different environmental influences.

In this study I explore the use (and the non-use) of ICTs in the broad survey on their use by modern social movements, providing data on the demographics of the movements and their activists worldwide, and on the use (and non-use) of the ICTs. Based on four online surveys (including international, local US and Polish), data on distribution of social movement organizations, age of organizations and activists, numbers of activists and supporters, and organization goals are presented. Analysis of the diffusion and use of specific new ICTs follows. The research questions revolve around the blurring boundaries between members and non-members (unofficial supporters and volunteers) and the specifics of the use of new media (by whom and for what) with particular focus on the importance of organizational and membership age. The findings with regards to the use of modern ICTs show the success (wide diffusion and estimates of empowerment) of email, static websites, phones and social networking, contrasted with the relatively poor performance of blogs, podcats and online petitions on the social movement scene.

Nowadays technologies influence our work and private life and this requires constant changes. It also concerns education. To be well educated you should still act effectively and efficiently using modern technological developments. The development of ICT (Information Communication Technologies) has led to the Internet gaining the status of the main channel of distribution of all information. New processes of distance education (e-learning) are penetrating education, the public sector and businesses. The aim of this paper is to analyse and compare selected e-learning systems using software with the implemented AHP method.
Obecnie technologie informatyczne wpływają na naszą pracę i życie prywatne. Dotyczy to również edukacji, gdzie proces uczenia i nauczania może być skutecznie i wydajnie realizowany przy użyciu nowoczesnych rozwiązań technologicznych. Rozwój ICT (Information Communication Technology) doprowadził do rozwoju Internetu, który zyskuje status głównego kanału dystrybucji wszystkich informacji. Nowe procesy kształcenia na odległość (e-learning) przenikają do edukacji, sektora publicznego oraz firm. Celem niniejszej pracy była analiza i porównanie wybranych systemów e-learningowych. Analizę przeprowadzono z wykorzystaniem systemu MakeItRational, który posiada zaimplementowany algorytm wielokryterialnej metody AHP.

Opis:
Acquisition of digital skills by faculty members is a significantly important step when it comes to integrating ICT in teaching. In light of that, this study aims to describe and analyse faculty members’ training in ICT in all faculties of education within Spanish public universities. The paper hereby presented describes results from 1,145 professors, obtained by an ad hoc online questionnaire. Both data and results have been obtained from one of the instrument dimensions: received teaching training and professors’ perception of their own training. This instrument consists of 25 items. Results show the need for more profound training regarding the optimisation of ICT didactic and pedagogic potential in class, as well as an integrated approach to pedagogy, digital literacy and knowledge.

Economies are increasingly becoming dependent on Information Communication Technology (ICT) and concerns over sustainability have called for the investigation of the relation between sustainability and ICT. While the majority of the studies in this field have an environmentalist focus in this regard, technical, economical and societal concerns on sustainability have arisen in the last decade. Today, more and more studies are addressing the need for the inclusion of sustainability as a design goal for ICT development and for the systems that rely on ICT. Therefore, the integration of education on sustainability in the curriculum is imperative for current and future generations of professionals to accomplish this goal. In this paper, we propose a curriculum for sustainable ICT along with the expected learning outcomes and components. The course design is based on a multi-faceted approach that embraces different viewpoints on sustainability and aims to increase students’ awareness of the complex nature of sustainability.
Świat w coraz większym stopniu zależy od Teleinformatyki (Information Communication Technology, ICT). Warto zadać pytanie o relację pomiędzy zrównoważonym rozwojem a Teleinformatyką. Większość przeprowadzanych badań koncentruje się na aspektach środowiskowych, kwestie techniczne, ekonomiczne i społeczne pozostają w cieniu. Dziś jednak coraz częściej wyrażany jest postulat wskazujący na konieczność uwzględnienia aspektu zrównoważoności w tworzeniu systemów teleinformatycznych i w podsystemach, które są od nich zależne. Dlatego uwzględnienie w programie nauczania problematyki zrównoważoności stanowi imperatyw dla obecnych i przyszłych profesjonalistów. W tym artykule proponujemy program dla zrównoważonej teleinformatyki, uwzględniający zarys treści programowych i efektów kształcenia. Program oparty jest na wieloaspektowym podejściu, obejmującym różne punkty widzenia, którego celem jest zrozumienie przez studentów złożoności problematyki zrównoważonego rozwoju.

ICT in educational process crashes classic theory of psychological development of the child. According to them, the process of adopting of new concepts (thought process) in pre-school insti-tutes ranges from perception of the senses (sight, hearing, touch), speech and direct manipulation of real objects (teaching resources), towards the creation of abstract concepts. In other words, that child would “see the object in their head”, had to “see it and touch it with the hand!” first. With the introduction of modern educational technology, the whole process of learning and assessment of knowledge moved to the virtual environment. Perceptual abilities, compensated realistic tactile impressions and direct manipulation but not at the expense of the quality of learning. Examples from practice confirm that. The paper aims at presenting samples of interactive-multimedia game sheets and panels for future base of E-didactic materials from the Methodology of developing initial mathematical concepts for preschool needs.

Pod koniec ubiegłego wieku techniki informatyczne upowszechniły się w działalności turystycznej. Ponad 20 lat temu informatyczna sfera branży turystycznej skupiała się głównie na tworzeniu systemów organizacyjno-biurowych, kierując się zasadą, że informacja turystyczna to niezbędny składnik promocji turystycznej. Dokonując analizy rozwoju informatycznego gospodarstw domowych i przedsiębiorców w Polsce i UE, rozważono perspektywy promocji działalności turystycznej, wskazując konkretnych odbiorców informacji turystycznej. Ukazano wybrane działania ICT i możliwy ich wpływ na tworzenie się nowych aplikacji turystycznych.
At the end of the last century, IT techniques have become popular in tourist activities. At the scientific conference "The role of tourism in the development of the region" (Bytów 1996), the importance of the Internet was postulated. More than 20 years ago, the computerization of the tourism industry concerned only the creation of office systems. Currently, the basic carrier of tourist promotion are commercial IT services and the Internet. Based on the retrospection, the author presents current technical and IT trends in tourism.

The paper shows how developing social networking services, geo-media applications, e-management tools, and even some particular types of web ‘games’ may contribute to the creation of technological interfaces of our cities. Nevertheless, the paper calls into question whether these technological environments may contribute to the real change in urban planning – the change from the top-down to the bottom-up approach.

It also discusses a pedagogical innovation “STEM Educational Project” of Warsaw Technical University, which aims at high school teachers, and its impact on the popularisation of exact sciences, engineering and new technologies among young people.

In the era of contemporary cyber threats, there is an urgent need to provide cybersecurity in almost every public institution as well as in business. Particular emphasis should be put on institutions which are responsible for ensuring national security. A specific case is a military organization where cybersecurity should be provided during peace, crisis and war.
