hydrographic network - Opis:
- The paper presents possibilities of using of archival military aerial photos from the second world war period for spatial analyses, employing the Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The aim of this article is research on application of these materials, together with present-day spatial data material (orthophotomap, LiDAR digital terrain model) to carry out the analyses of changes of hydrographic network, land cover and land use, as well as elements of second world war military infrastructure and fortifications. The archival material employed in research was german military aerial photo made in 1944 by Photogrammetry Department of Third Reich Land Forces Headquarters Chef for own purposes. The study area was limited by the range of photo to mouth of Koszarawa into Soła rivers and nearest of railway station Żywiec - Zabłocie (second world war: Saybusch (german name of Żywiec) town under occupation of Nazi Germany, nowadays: part of Żywiec town, Silesian voivodeship, south of Poland).
