- The aim of the study was to estimate the diversity of European beech (Fagus sylvatica L.) seeds in Poland in the years 1992−2004. The investigation started in 1992 when seeds were collected from thirteen selected beech provenances and continued in the following period 1995−2004 with samples of seeds from Seed−Quality Assessment Laboratory. Significant differences in size, shape, vitality and weight of the beech seeds were found between crop years and regions of Poland.
