    Entrepreneurship 4.0 can be seen as a new type of technological entrepreneurship, based on advanced technologies (e.g. the internet of things, artificial intelligence) which should help to improve the productivity and innovativeness of the Polish economy. However, the development of Economy 4.0 is associated with certain dilemmas and even with the destruction of the existing ‘rules’ of socio-economic life. The purpose of the article is to identify the opportunities and challenges of entrepreneurship development in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, regarding the role of education in this process. Thus, an explorative study was carried out based on the literature and secondary data (2015-2019) analysis (e.g. GUESS, PISA, GEM). The technical capabilities of Polish engineers and IT specialists can facilitate the development of innovative entrepreneurship 4.0. However, intensive educational efforts are required in order to improve the soft skills of the new generations (Y, Z), such as communication skills, relationship building and interdisciplinary team cooperation. Additionally, the role of education should concentrate on shaping ethical attitudes and social responsibility for the consequences of innovations introduced on the market.

    Opis:
    Purpose: The aim of this paper is to present an original proposal of a methodology to test the competencies of the young generation and how it may be used for working with young people. Design/methodology/approach: The research methodology presented in this paper is inspired by the assessment centre method, which is adapted for the purposes of testing the young generation, so that their competence potential may be determined based on original tasks. Findings: The paper describes what detailed competencies are revealed during the task performance. It allows to determine how a teacher may stimulate the development of a particular competency in a student by using it in the teaching process. It is demonstrated how introducing certain tasks to be done by students as part of their school life allows the young people to face potential challenges of the future labour market. Research limitations/implications: The paper presents the strengths and weaknesses of the presented methodology of competency test, pointing out to the difficulties caused by the time consumption involved in the completion of it. Practical implications: The research tools presented in this article allow for a multi-stage and multifaceted process of simulating the challenges which will be faced by young people when choosing a career. This way, young people could face varying challenges to help them determine what requirements and expectations they will face further in the education process and later, when entering the labour market under the Economy 4.0 conditions. Social implications: The education system must be improved towards a more practical approach to teaching and its better alignment with the requirements set out by the contemporary labour market. The prepared tools allow a teacher to determine the competencies held by a student and encourage his or her further development. Originality/value: The prepared tasks and the way of analysis of the results of the research are an original achievement of the research team who developed them. The developed methodology may expand the educational toolbox of teachers.

During the conference the scientists discussed the tendencies and new challenges facing the social policyand labour in the coming years.

    W ramach gospodarki 4.0 zmienia się nie tylko ilość pracy i zapotrzebowanie na różne umiejętności, ale także organizacja pracy i sposoby zatrudniania pracowników. Celem artykułu jest zidentyfikowanie zmian zachodzących na stanowiskach pracy w wyniku postępu technologicznego oraz ocena stopnia upowszechnienia nowych, elastycznych form zatrudnienia w zakładach pracy. Zmiany, które w największym stopniu dokonują się na stanowiskach pracy, obejmują wzrost wydajności pracy, możliwość podjęcia elastycznych form zatrudnienia, wzrost jakości pracy, konieczność nieustannego rozwoju zawodowego, łatwiejsze godzenie pracy zawodowej z życiem prywatnym. W Polsce najbardziej rozpowszechnioną formą elastycznego zatrudnienia jest praca zdalna, natomiast występowanie innych nowoczesnych form elastycznego zatrudnienia, takich jak: job rotation, work sharing czy job sharing, ma charakter incydentalny.
    Within the Economy 4.0, both the amount of work and the demand for different skills are changing, as well as the organisation of work and the ways in which workers are employed. The aim of this paper is to identify changes taking place in workplaces as a result of technological progress and to assess the extent to which new, flexible forms of employment are becoming more widespread in workplaces. The changes taking place in workplaces to the greatest extent include an increase in labour productivity, the possibility to undertake elastic forms of employment, an increase in the quality of work, the need for continuous professional development, and easier reconciliation of work and private life. In Poland, the most common form of flexible employment is remote working, while the occurrence of other modern forms of flexible employment, such as job rotation, work sharing or job sharing, is incidental.

    Purpose: The aim of this paper is to reconstruct the knowledge and approach of young people to the issue of social entrepreneurship as an area of activity important for shaping key competences in the New Economy. The additional aim of the paper is to describe the feeling of readiness of young people to act as an agent, both in relation to society and this economy. Design/methodology/approach: To achieve this goal, a diagnostic study was carried out (based on the so-called task catalogue) with a group of over 500 students studying at vocational schools, high schools and technical colleges in Greater Poland, as well as 3 workshops with students representing particular types of schools. Findings: The research established that students are aware of the possibility of participation in the social world through the broadly understood social entrepreneurship and activity in the third sector. It was also established that they are very aware of the possibilities and the need for agency in this area. The discussed resources of students translate into competences necessary in the New Economy. Research limitations/implications: Contemporary research with adolescents requires taking into account a number of factors that may affect their course. In more extensive research, these issues will certainly be worth considering already at the stage of conceptualization of the research and construction of research tools. Practical implications: Social entrepreneurship of young people is constantly transforming and although its subject is changing (from activities related to shared management to activities related to social solidarity and civic attitudes), it invariably refers to joint activities on the border of economic and social reality. The approach of young people to the implementation of socially useful tasks is also changing. Young people see them as an opportunity both to solve social problems and to meet the challenges related to changes in the postmodern world. Social implications: The competences gained by young people make them more aware and engaged citizens, but also more aware and responsible future participants of the New Economy. Originality/value: The paper reconstructs the resources, approach and attitudes of young people towards the possibilities of agency offered by social entrepreneurship. The collected knowledge was analysed on the basis of the competence challenges posed by the New Economy for the New Generation project.

    W systemach podatkowych w różnych krajach coraz częściej sięga się po instytucję tzw. wydatków podatkowych w postaci zwolnień lub innych ulg podatkowych, za pomocą których ustawodawca stara się przynajmniej w części wynagrodzić podatnikom ponoszenie przez nich wydatków w interesie ogólnym. Jednym z takich obszarów jest transformacja w kierunku Gospodarki 4.0, wymagająca niejednokrotnie znacznych nakładów finansowych ze strony podatników, m.in. na robotyzację, oraz przyczyniająca się do rozwoju gospodarczego (a w konsekwencji także pośrednio do wzrostu dochodów podatkowych). Ulga na robotyzację została wprowadzona zarówno we Włoszech, jak i w Polsce. Przedmiotem analizy w niniejszym opracowaniu jest porównanie zasadniczych cech obu ulg (tj. polskiej i włoskiej) w kontekście funkcji, jaką mają p ełnić w systemie podatkowym.
    In many countries, the tax expenditures are more and more often – measures such as tax exemptions or other forms of tax reliefs are adopted in order to reward these taxpayers who incurred expenditures in public interest. One of the fields of such expenditure is the transformation towards Economy 4.0, which requires taxpayers to bear significant costs of e.g. robotization and, in turn, leads to the growth of the economy (and, therefore, future tax revenues). Tax reliefs concerning robotization has been implemented both in Italy and in Poland. This paper provides an analysis of the respective Italian and Polish regulation in terms of the function assigned to these tax reliefs.

    Celem artykułu jest próba odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy kompetencje pracujących w gospodarce tradycyjnej, opartej głównie na pracy najemnej, różnią się od tych pożądanych w gospodarce 4.0, opartej na pracy krótkoterminowej. Okazuje się, że podejmowanie aktywności zawodowej w takim otoczeniu wymaga innych cech i umiejętności niż na tradycyjnym rynku pracy, co z kolei wymaga innego podejścia do kształcenia kadr niż przy kształceniu pracowników na potrzeby gospodarki tradycyjnej. Rezultatem badania jest zestawienie (tabela) cech pracy i kompetencji niezbędnych z jednej strony w gospodarce tradycyjnej oraz – z drugiej – w gospodarce 4.0.
    The aim of the article is to attempt to address the question whether the competences of people working in a traditional economy, based mainly on contract work (waged work), differ from those required in the economy 4.0, based on short-term contracts. The analysis shows, firstly, that professional activity undertaken in this new environment requires competences and skills that differ dramatically from those necessary in the traditional labor market. Secondly, it points out that there is need to change the approach to educating cadres to the economy 4.0. At the end of the study a table is presented, summarizing the characteristics of work and competencies required in both the traditional economy and the economy 4.0.
