    The possibilities to improve values of the satellite orbit elements by employing the pseudo-ranges and differences of carrier phase frequencies measured at many reference GPS stations are analysed. An improvement of orbit ephemeris is achieved by solving an equation system of corrections of the pseudo-ranges and phase differences with the least-squares method. Also, equations of space coordinates of satellite orbit points expressed by ephemeris at fixed moments are used. The relation between the accuracy of the pseudo-ranges and phase differences and the accuracy of the satellite ephemeris is analysed. Formulae for estimation of the influence of the ephemeris on the measured pseudo-ranges and phase differences and for prediction of the accuracy of the pseudo-ranges and phase differences were obtained. An influence of the covariance between single orbit parameters on the accuracy of the pseudo-ranges and phase differences is detected.

    Opis:
    A CW FM type sounding signal is used in the classical solution of silent sonar. While the signal provides a relatively simple implementation of digital signal processing, and ensures good detection conditions, unfortunately, in the presence of the Doppler effect, distance measurement results tend to be wrong. This is due to the fact that the received signal’s instantaneous frequency value is dependent both on the distance to the object, and its speed. Sounding signal, as patented by the authors, is a combination of Pseudo-Random Sequences (PRS), and elementary signals of Hyperbolic Frequency Modulation (HFM) type. The structure of this signal is aimed at minimizing measurement error. The article presents the idea of a sounding signal of HFM+PRS type, and the results of computer simulations.

    Although used in the classic silent sonar, the CW FM sounding signal has a major flaw which is its inaccuracy in determining the distance to a target. The authors of the article have developed a concept of silent sonar using frequency modulation signals switched by pseudorandom codes, already discussed in their previous work. This article presents a detailed analysis of errors in CW FM sonar with pseudo-random sequence code modulation confronted with errors which occur in similar sonar without code modulation.

    Our aim is to develop the method of location subscriber to be used in military communication nets. This method is based on frequency offset measurement. Analytic description of the Doppler effect creates one of such possibilities. In this paper, an original location subscriber method is presented. We showed the Maxwell equations solution in the case of a transmitter continually changing location in relation to a receiver. It makes possible to calculate exactly the value of the received signal parameters especially frequency offset. The methodology described in this paper shows that the Doppler frequency offset value can be used for radio signal sources location.

    The COMPASS tokamak is equipped with two identical neutral beam injectors (NBI) for additional plasma heating. They provide a beam of deuterium atoms with a power of up to ~(2 × 300) kW. We show that the neutral beam is not monoenergetic but contains several energy components. An accurate knowledge of the neutral beam power in each individual energy component is essential for a detailed description of the beam- -plasma interaction and better understanding of the NBI heating processes in the COMPASS tokamak. This paper describes the determination of individual energy components in the neutral beam from intensities of the Doppler-shifted Dα lines, which are measured by a high-resolution spectrometer viewing the neutral beam-line at the exit of NBI. Furthermore, the divergence of beamlets escaping single aperture of the last accelerating grid is deduced from the width of the Doppler-shifted lines. Recently, one of the NBI systems was modifi ed by the removal of the Faraday copper shield from the ion source. The comparison of the beam composition and the beamlet divergence before and after this modifi cation is also presented.

    The secretiveness of sonar operation can be achieved by using continuous frequency-modulated sounding signals with reduced power and significantly prolonged repeat time. The application of matched filtration in the sonar receiver provides optimal conditions for detection against the background of white noise and reverberation, and a very good resolution of distance measurements of motionless targets. The article shows that target movement causes large range measurement errors when linear and hyperbolic frequency modulations are used. The formulas for the calculation of these errors are given. It is shown that for signals with linear frequency modulation the range resolution and detection conditions deteriorate. The use of hyperbolic frequency modulation largely eliminates these adverse effects.

    W artykule przedstawiono oryginalną metodykę wyznaczania współrzędnych położenia źródeł promieniowania fal elektromagnetycznych, wykorzystującą pomiar częstotliwości chwilowej sygnału odbieranego przez poruszający się odbiornik. Podstawę opracowanej metodyki stanowi zależność analityczna opisująca wartość dopplerowskiego przesunięcia częstotliwości jako funkcja parametrów ruchu, parametrów generowanego sygnału oraz współrzędnych uwarunkowanych wzajemnym położeniem źródła i odbiornika sygnału. Przedstawiona analiza umożliwia ocenę wpływu różnych parametrów na zasięg prowadzenia lokalizacji źródeł fal radiowych funkcjonujących w systemach radiokomunikacyjnych i radiotechnicznych, wykorzystujących emisje sygnałów o stałej częstotliwości nośnej.
    In this paper an original methodology of the position calculation of electromagnetic waves sources is introduced. This methodology applies measurement of the frequency temporary value of the received signal over moving receiver. The basis of worked out methodology is the analytic dependence, which describes Doppler's frequency shift as a function of motion parameters, generated signal and mutual position of a signal source and receiver. The described analysis ensures assessment of different parameters influence on the range of radio wave sources location. The issues presented here concern radio engineering and communication systems applying the emissions with constant carrier frequency.

    W artykule przedstawiono istotę zjawiska wywołanego dyskretyzacją radarowego sygnału złożonego. Dokonano próby jakościowej oraz ilościowej oceny wpływu tego zjawiska na parametry sygnału radarowego po kompresji. Do rozważań przyjęto sygnał z liniową modulacją częstotliwości (LMCz). Badanymi parametrami sygnału były: względny poziom maksymalnego listka bocznego (PSL) oraz straty sygnału użytecznego wywołane niedopasowaniem (LPG). Rozważania zilustrowano przykładowymi wynikami badań symulacyjnych. Na podstawie uzyskanych wyników dokonano próby sformułowania wniosków praktycznych.
    Modem techniques of digital signal processing are the basis of modem radar receiver systems. It causes that radar characteristics are created among others by digitization procedure including its additional products. That is why awareness concerning these products presence and their qualitative and quantitative estimation is difficult to overestimate. An example of such a product is an effect of an echo — pulse leading edge random position with relation to a nearest discrete time value determined by an AD converter sampling clock. This effect influence on signal characteristics at the output of the digital compression filter is very important. The essence of the phenomenon caused by radar chirp signal digitization is presented in the paper. To be more precise - efforts leading to qualitative and quantitative estimation of this phenomenon influence on radar signal after compression were undertaken. The LFM signal was chosen into consideration. Tested signal parameters were as follows: relative level of a peak side lobe (PSL) and echo signal loses caused by a mismatch. Considerations are illustrated by simulation test results. Practical conclusions were taken on the basis of the achieved results.

    At the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries, development of microelectronics and microwave techniques allowed for minimization of electronic devices and systems, and the use of microwave frequency bands for modern radio communication systems. On the other hand, the global navigation satellite system (GNSS) have contributed to the popularization of radio navigation in civilian applications. These factors had a direct impact on the development and dissemination of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). In the initial period, the UAVs were used mainly for the army needs. This results also from the legal aspects of the UAV use in the airspace. Currently, commercial UAVs for civilian applications, such as image recognition, monitoring, transport, etc., are presented increasingly. Generally, the GNSS system accuracy for the UAV positioning during a flight is enough. However, the GNSS use for automatic takeoff and landing may be insufficient. The extensive, ground-based navigation support systems used at airports by manned aircraft testify to these. In the UAV case, such systems are not used due to their complexity and price. For this reason, the novel dedicated take-off and landing systems are developed. The proposal of the autonomous landing system, which is based on the Doppler effect, was presented in 2017. In this case, the square-based beacon configuration was analyzed. This paper shows the influence of various beacon configurations in the Doppler-based landing system on the positioning error during the UAV landing approach.

    Artykuł poświęcony jest analizie przestrzenno-częstotliwościowych uwarunkowań praktycznego wykorzystania opracowanej przez autorów oryginalnej metody lokalizacji źródeł promieniowania fal radiowych, której podstawę stanowi pomiar dopplerowskiego przesunięcia częstotliwości. Prezentowana tematyka stanowi kontynuację problematyki przedstawionej w publikacji [1]. Zagadnienie przestrzennej dyskretności i częstotliwościowej dokładności realizacji pomiarów ma istotne znaczenie w zakresie praktycznego wykorzystania efektu Dopplera do wyznaczania współrzędnych położenia źródeł radiowych. Przedstawiona analiza umożliwia ocenę wpływu różnych parametrów na dokładność prowadzenia lokalizacji źródeł fal radiowych funkcjonujących w systemach radiokomunikacyjnych i radiotechnicznych. Jednocześnie stanowi podstawę do opracowania wymagań na parametry techniczne urządzeń wchodzących w skład stanowiska pomiarowego oraz warunkuje opracowanie realizacji pomiarów.
    The space-spectral conditions analysis practical utilization of the radio wave sources location method is presented on this paper. A measurement of the Doppler offset frequency is a basis of the original method. The presented subject matter is continuation of the analysed problem in Ref. 1. The space discretization and accuracy of frequency offset measurement are of essential importance for practical utilization of the Doppler effect in a radio wave sources location. Presented analysis enables us to assess influence of different parameters on accuracy of the radio wave sources location in radio communication systems. The analysis result are the basis for formulation of technical requirements on equipment parameters of the measuring position and for development of measurement methodology.

    Praca poświęcona jest problematyce lokalizacji źródeł emisji fal radiowych przy wykorzystaniu dopplerowskich zmian częstotliwości, będących wynikiem ruchu stanowiska pomiarowego. Przedstawione zostały zależności analityczne, stanowiące podstawę teoretyczną oraz wybrane wyniki pomiarów umożliwiające ocenę skuteczności opracowanej metody. Opis struktury ruchomego stanowiska pomiarowego i problematyka doboru parametrów pomiarowych warunkujących minimalizację błędu lokalizacji źródeł emisji stanowi zasadniczy zakres tematyczny pracy. Prezentowane wyniki wstępnych badań empirycznych, zrealizowanych przy użyciu opracowanego stanowiska i metodyki pomiarowej, stanowią podstawę do oceny skuteczności metody lokalizacji źródeł emisji wykorzystującej pomiar zmian częstotliwości chwilowej odbieranego sygnału.
    In this paper, the problem location of radio signal source using Doppler effect is described. Theoretical base as analytical formulas and chosen measurement results are presented. It is assessment base of worked out location method efficacy. The mobile test-bed structure and measurement parameters selection are presented. Location error minimization of signal source emission is criterion of selection measurement parameters. Measurement road and structure of system test with space dimensions of system elements location are described. In the paper, an efficacy assessment of worked out mobile test-bed is described. Precision assessment of Doppler location method is presented on a base of the empirical results.

    Prezentowana w artykule problematyka poświęcona jest dopplerowskiej metodzie lokalizacji źródeł fal radiowych, nazywanej metodą SDF (Signal Doppler Frequency location method). Podstawę metody stanowi wykorzystanie efektu Dopplera, a w szczególności funkcyjna zależność opisująca zmiany chwilowych wartości częstotliwości odbieranego sygnału w funkcji zmian współrzędnych stanowiska pomiarowego względem lokalizowanego źródła. W artykule przedstawiono całościowy zakres zagadnień związanych z analizą teoretyczną, problematyką praktycznej realizacji pomiarów i analizą otrzymanych wyników. W zakresie przeprowadzonych badań empirycznych opisano strukturę stanowiska, trasę oraz metodykę realizacji pomiarów. Na podstawie danych pomiarowych dokonano wstępnej oceny dokładności opracowanej metody i określono uwarunkowania jej praktycznego wykorzystania. Uzyskane wyniki analizy porównawczej dowodzą perspektywicznego charakteru opracowanej metody SDF i pokazują jej odmienność względem dotychczas praktycznie stosowanych i rozwijanych metod lokalizacji źródeł fal radiowych.
    This paper presents a location method of radio emission source, which is called Signal Doppler Frequency (SDF) or Doppler location method. The method is based on applied Doppler effect, including especially functional dependence defining variations of actual values of the received signal frequency as a function of coordinates' changes for the measuring point in relation to the source being located. The article shows a holistic scope of issues concerning theoretical analysis, performance of measurements in practice and analysis results. The empirical research covered description of testband's structure, route, and methods used to perform measurements. Initial evaluation of method's accuracy and determinants of its practical application were specified according to the measurement data. Results of comparative analysis prove that the elaborated SDF method can be considered as perspective one and they show how different it is from the methods of radio waves location used up till the present moment.
