Opis:: Two new species of sphenophyllalean strobili with in situ spores are proposed from the Radnice Basin of the western and central Bohemian Carboniferous continental basins of the Czech Republic. Bowmanites brasensis sp. nov. from Břasy (Matylda Mine) and B. pseudoaquensis sp. nov. from Ovčín locality are determined mainly on the basis of their spores, which are about 100 μm in diameter. The thick−walled exine of the miospores is laevigate or sometimes very finely scabrate on the proximal contact area. Spores resemble the dispersed species Punctatisporites obesus. Cones of B. brasensis and B. pseudoaquensis are organically connected with stems having prominent blade leaves and represent a new group of sphenophyllalean strobili.

Opis:: The aim of presented article is to examine regularities in the geographical distribution of support for the new political parties in Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia. At the beginning of the study, nationwide results of analyzed parties were compared with results achieved in territorial units. On this basis, the author created an indicator showing the average profit (or loss) of a new grouping in relation to the share of votes at the national level. Subsequently, the author calculated the Pearson's correlation coefficients to evaluate the relationship between results of new political parties in the first elections they gained parliamentary seats. The results of the analysis show that only in case of Czech Republic, it is possible to distinct the territorial units where citizens are more likely to vote for new parties. Nevertheless, most of differences in the geographical distribution of support for new parties in analyzed countries arise from three interrelated factors: the specificity of the territorial unit, ideological autoidentification of population inhabiting a particular territorial unit and popularity of party leaders.

Opis:: Rubus bohemo-polonicus Travnicek & Zieliński, a regional species belonging to series Radula (Focke) Focke, is described from the Czech Republic and Poland. It differs from closely related species (R. radula Weihe, R. salisburgensis Focke ex Caflisch and R. indusiatus Focke) mainly by the almost glabrous stems and consistently white petals. Illustrations and a distribution map of the new species are provided.

Opis:: This paper presents the results of extensive field research on the occurrence of Rubus L. species in the Czech Republic, especially in the frontier areas near the German border. In this area, Rubus adornatus, R. fasciculatiformis and R. perlongus were newly discovered. The other species, R. ambulans and R. stohrii, were discovered in the eastern and northern parts of Bohemia. A description, an illustration, photos and a list of localities are provided for each species. Taxonomy and nomenclature, ecology, distribution and etymology are discussed. The ploidy level of the mentioned species is presented here for the first time. All of these species are new for the flora of the Czech Republic.

Opis:: A new genus and species, Makowskia laticephala gen. et sp. nov., of seymouriamorph tetrapod from the Lower Permian deposits of the Boskovice Furrow in Moravia (Czech Republic) is described in detail, and its cranial reconstruction is presented. It is placed in the family Discosauriscidae (together with Discosauriscus and Ariekanerpeton) on the following character states: short preorbital region; rounded to oval orbits positioned mainly in anterior half of skull; otic notch dorsoventrally broad and anteroposteriorly deep; rounded to oval ventral scales. Makowskia is distinguished from other Discosauriscidae by the following characters: nasal bones equally long as broad; interorbital region broad; prefrontalpostfrontal contact lies in level of frontal mid−length (only from D. pulcherrimus); maxilla deepest at its mid−length; suborbital ramus of jugal short and dorsoventrally broad with long anterodorsal−posteroventral directed lacrimal−jugal suture; postorbital anteroposteriorly short and lacks elongated posterior process; ventral surface of basioccipital smooth; rows of small denticles placed on distinct ridges and intervening furrows radiate from place immediately laterally to articular portion on ventral surface of palatal ramus of pterygoid (only from D. pulcherrimus); oblique anterior margin of transverse flange of pterygoid directed anteromedially−posterolaterally; cultriform process of parasphenoid relatively short and slightly rounded; ventral surface of the posterior plate of parasphenoid heavily sculptured (only from D. pulcherrimus and Ariekanerpeton); distal ends of fourth and fifth presacral ribs distinctly anteroposteriorly broadened, and extend into the hook−like, posteriorly directed processes; shaft of ?last caudal rib anteroposteriorly broadened; posterior stem of interclavicle narrows anteriorly and posteriorly from broadened mid−length section.

Opis:: Orthotrichum affine var. bohemicum Plášek & Sawicki, var. nova, is a confirmed record of a new variety from the Czech Republic. The new taxon is described and illustrated by photos and drawing. It is characterized by having superficial stomata and a peristome with 16 endostome segments (practically as long as exostome teeth). Molecular data indicating the phylogenetic placement of the species are presented.
