- Due to the fact that game animals in Poland over the last hundred years or so have been subject to statistical registration of their abundance and exploitation level, the history of animal species threatened by extinction, i.e. hare, partridge, capercaillie and black grouse and red deer, roe deer, wild boar, fox and beaver in the peak of their population success has been described. Attempt was made to establish the cause of the permanent negative or positive abundance dynamics for these species throughout the country. In addition, a forecast for the future development of these species was formulated.
