Opis:: In the present, the seventh part of the series titled “Beetles (Coleoptera) of the Rogów region” presents two families, powderpost beetles (Bostrichidae) and spider and death-watch beetles (Ptinidae), as one of the better-known families of beetles occurring in the Rogów area. The faunistic data of presented species enriched by bionomical information. 4 species of powderpost beetles, 9 species of spider beetles and 30 species of death-watch beetles were recorded in the study area

Opis:: The paper contains informations on the descriptions and analyse of various authors’ opinions as to the ocurrence and systematic position of species belonging to the genus Xylothrips. As the result of the analysis Calophagus has been downgraded to a subgenus of Xylothrips – Xylothrips (Calophagus) n. comb. – and Xylothrips geffroyi (n. syn.) synonymized with X. religiosus. At the end a key to the identification of all known species of Xylothrips is presented, together with a catalogue and maps showing the geographical distribution of particular species.

Opis:: The paper discusses the type-specimens of the family Bostrichidae and nominotypical subfamily Ptininae of Ptinidae deposited at National Forest Insect Collection, Forest Research Institute (NFIC-FRI) Dehradun, India. For each species the type locality, number of descriptive material and remarks (including geographical distribution) are given. Type-specimens, together with the respective labels, are shown on photographs. Five species of bostrichids – Sinoxylon gloriosus n. syn., Xylopertha dunensis n. syn., Xyloprista fisheri n. syn., Xylopsocus distinctus n. syn., and Paraxylogenes pistaciae n. syn. – have been synonymized.

Opis:: Expedition to Gambia in 2013 resulted in collecting 22 species of Bostrichidae, including 13 new to this country, 3 new to West Africa and one not recorded previously in Africa at all; moreover, the description of one species new to science (Amintinus gambianus sp. n.) and two synonymizations – Sinoxylon doliolum Lesne syn. n. of S. rufobasale Fairm. and Xyloperthella guineensis Roberts syn. n. of X. picea (Oliv.) – are provided.
