Opis:
Multiplayer Online Battle Arena games focus mainly on struggles between two teams of players. An increasing level of cyberbullying [1] discourages new players from the game and they often chose a different option, that is, a match against opponents controlled by the computer. The behavior of artificial foes can be dynamically fitted to user’s needs, in particular with regard to the difficulty of the game. In this paper we explore different approaches to provide an intelligent behavior of bots basing on more human-like combat predictions rather than instant, scripted behaviors.

Opis:
Combating economic cybercrime using AI can be a new powerful approach. AI technologies have the potential to detect and respond to cyber threats in real-time, identify patterns and anomalies in large data sets, and automate various security processes. The basic ways of using artificial intelligence to combat economic cybercrime are Threat Detection, Behavioral Analysis, Fraud Prevention, Phishing and Malware Detection, Vulnerability Management, Incident Response and Threat Hunting, Predictive Analytics or Security Automation. However, it should be noted that while AI can significantly improve cybersecurity operations, it is not a standalone solution. It should be used in conjunction with other security measures such as regular software updates, employee training, and strong access controls to create a robust defense against economic cybercrime.

This article aims to introduce the terms NI-Natural Intelligence, AI-Artificial Intelligence, ML-Machine Learning, DL-Deep Learning, ES-Expert Systems and etc. used by modern digital world to mining and mineral processing and to show the main differences between them. As well known, each scientific and technological step in mineral industry creates huge amount of raw data and there is a serious necessity to firstly classify them. Afterwards experts should find alternative solutions in order to get optimal results by using those parameters and relations between them using special simulation software platforms. Development of these simulation models for such complex operations is not only time consuming and lacks real time applicability but also requires integration of multiple software platforms, intensive process knowledge and extensive model validation. An example case study is also demonstrated and the results are discussed within the article covering the main inferences, comments and decision during NI use for the experimental parameters used in a flotation related postgraduate study and compares with possible AI use.

Cybersecurity has benefitted from Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies for attack detection. However, recent advances in AI techniques, in tandem with their misuse, have outpaced parallel advancements in cyberattack classification methods that have been achieved through academic and industry-led efforts. We describe the shift in the evolution of AI techniques, and we show how recent AI approaches are effective in helping an adversary attain his/her objectives appertaining to cyberattacks. We also discuss how the current architecture of computer communications enables the development of AI-based adversarial threats against heterogeneous computing platforms and infrastructures.

Modern organizations commonly use the strategy of a learning organization, and therefore operate with not only material resources, but also information resources. The collected data resources become the basis for generating business and management information. This database is maintained on various platforms using integrated BI (Business Intelligence) systems enabling knowledge to be generated through the data-mining mechanisms embedded in the artificial intelligence models. In this article, the authors focus on AI (Artificial Intelligence) models and systems based on ANN's (Artificial Neural Networks) and fuzzy set theory, which can be useful in solutions dedicated to supporting the complex management of modern organisations, and in particular the support of active functions (forecasting, planning and monitoring activities, as well as risk analysis and system effectiveness).

The terms AI and AI systems are ambiguous but attempts are being made to agree on their definitions. International organizations and national public authorities are constructing legal acts and policy documents oriented toward maximizing benefits and reducing risks of the AI development and use. The EU draft AI Act prohibits the use of certain AI systems in the publicly accessible space. Therefore, it is important to clarify the definition of this category of the space and the scope of prohibited practices. The general principles applicable to all artificial intelligence systems introduced by the European Parliament in 2023 will affect the development and use of GIS in the publicly accessible space under the EU jurisdiction and their indirect impact may be even broader.

The article presents the role of artificial intelligence technology in shaping international security. This particular technology is an example of modern technological innovation that can exert a transformational effect on international relations by altering the capabilities of states (in Waltz’s terms) and thus the balance of power in the international system. The argumentation is divided into three sections. The first one focuses on the role technology plays in IR theory. The second one presents how artificial intelligence technology works and discusses its four key features for international security. The third section introduces Charles Weiss’ theoretical concept for rendering interactions between technology and the international system and uses this distinction to elaborate on how AI may influence international relations in the future.

Opis:
The main aim of the article is to show the changes in the structure of narrative identity as a result of combining the human brain with artificial intelligence (AI) under cyborgization. The hermeneutic structure of narrative identity proposed by Paul Ricoeur, considering the internal dialectics of the subject, its capacity to act and narrate itself, its relations with Others and orders of recognition, will be taken as the starting point of these analyses. The effects of changing the experience of unpredictability, uncertainty and memory in the lives of humans assisted by AI will be analyzed. The implications of AI assistance in the context of one’s own and other people’s cognition and actions, the I — Thou relationship, the mutuality of orders of recognition, and the abilities of subjects will be considered. An attempt will be made to answer the questions of whether. AI assistance will increase the scope of responsibility of the subject for the actions taken or rather contribute to its reduction. The danger of losing the subject’s capacity to take certain actions, such as acts of promise or forgiveness, which will be reduced to a contract in the presence of AI taking on the role of an institution, will be indicated. Finally, an attempt will be made to describe the changes in the narrative identity of a person gaining new abilities directly from AI rather than in the process of forming mutual recognitions and acquiring self--respect and social esteem, of which the subject has been partially deprived with the possibility to perform certain activities. In this context, the perspective of the formation of a Husserlian, self-transparent Self, deprived of the otherness that exposes it to criticism as a result of the connection of the human brain with AI, will be outlined.

An issue that is characteristic of AI is data processing on a massive scale (giga data, Big Data). This issue is also important because of the proposition to require manufacturers to equip AI systems with a means to record information about the operation of the technology, in particular the type and magnitude of the risk posed by the technology and any negative effects that logging may have on the rights of others. Data gathering must be carried out in accordance with the applicable laws, particularly data protection laws and trade secret protection laws. Therefore, it is necessary to determine the applicable law in line with existing conflict-of-law regulations.

Opis:
Biznes odgrywa dominującą rolę w rozwoju produktów i usług wykorzystujących sztuczną inteligencję.
Business plays a dominant role in the development of products and services based on Artificial Intelligence (AI). The challenge is to ensure that products and services based on AI are ethical. The difficulty in dealing with this task stems from the facts that: a. the process of development is not transparent; b. companies do not always want to take part in discussionson the ethics of artificial intelligence and adhere to its results; c. the novelty of the issue causes that the results of these discussions do not arise quickly and are not practical. The aim of the article is to indicate the difficulty of conducting research on the ethics of AI developed by business. The article has been synthetically presented in what way business responds to ethical challenges brought about by the phenomenon of development of AI. The answer to these challenges was also given by the High-Level Working Group appointed by the European Commission to develop a code of artificial intelligence.

Opis:
It has been for several years now that physicians use medical devices based on artificial intelligence (AI) in their professional practice. The use of these tools makes health services more personalized, tailored to the individual characteristics and needs of the patient. There is also a technological possibility for AI systems to provide patients with information regarding their health condition and treatment methods. The use of medical devices equipped with AI creates new types of risk, including the risk of algorithmic error, the risk of cyber-attack, and the risk of algorithmic mismatch (false-positive or false-negative results). Most patients do not know these tools, so not everyone will trust them. Obtaining informed consent from the patient is a necessary condition for any medical intervention. This study attempts to answer the following questions: (1) Is there a legal possibility to provide AI with the ability to inform the patient about their health condition and proposed treatment methods?; (2) Does the unpredictability and opacity of AI behavior affect the scope of information that should be provided to the patient before medical intervention?; (3) What information should the physician provide to the patient for this consent to be considered informed?; (4) Should the patient always be informed that AI was involved in the diagnosis or therapeutic process? The presented study uses comparative law methodology. American, Belgian and German law are analysed. Is there a legal possibility to provide AI with the ability to inform the patient about his health condition and proposed treatment methods? AI is a new tool with only limited regulation. One such attempt is the Executive Order on the Safe, Secure, and Trustworthy Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence from October 30, 2023, issued by the US President. As AI may be regulated from various angles, one of them is its influence on cybersecurity. AI Executive Order is much more concentrated on cybersecurity issues than other regulations or recommendations related to AI, like those issued in China, drafted in the EU or issued by international organisations like OECD and UNESCO. However, the strong focus on cybersecurity in the AI Executive Order is in line with the National Cybersecurity Strategy issued by the same US administration in March 2023.
