Opis:
The properties of rapidly solidified ribbons of Pr₉Fe_{50+x}Co₁₃Zr₁Nb₄B_{23-x} (where x=2, 5, 8) alloys annealed at temperatures ranging from 923 K to 1033 K were investigated. The heat treatment of the fully amorphous as-cast ribbons led to the simultaneous crystallization of the hard magnetic Pr₂(Fe,Co)₁₄B, the soft magnetic α-Fe and the paramagnetic Pr_{1+x}Fe₄B₄ phases. However, the crystallization of the α-Fe phase took place as the second crystallization event at higher temperatures for the x=8 alloy. The Rietveld analysis of the X-ray diffraction patterns was used to calculate the crystallite sizes of constituent phases. Additionally, using PONKCS method the weight fractions of crystalline and amorphous components were quantified. For all alloy compositions the temperature dependencies of magnetic parameters were determined from the hysteresis loops.

Opis:
Polycrystalline as-sputtered CoPt alloy films near the equiatomic composition were characterized as consisting of a disordered fcc phase with preferred texture along [111] orientation perpendicular to the film plane. The film annealing at 600°C/16 h induces the disorder-order phase transition confirmed by X-ray diffraction. As a result of the transition an appearance of the ordered tetragonal (fct) phase of AuCuI type with c/a = 0.974 is observed. The c-axis is the easy axis of magnetization. Both longitudinal and polar Kerr hysteresis loops reveal a dramatic increase in the coercivity from 0.1 to 4.5 kOe in annealed CoPt alloy films due to ordering.

The test of the results presented in this paper has demonstrated that the most suitable recrystallizing annealing temperature for cold drawn eutectoid steels is 700°C. The microscopic examinations, with the use of scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy and the results of mechanical properties tests have shown that only at this temperature it is possible to obtain the fully recrystallized homogeneous fine-grained structure of the pearlitic steel.

Opis:
Solid state nuclear track detectors have been applied in different studies including nuclear physics, particle physics, archaeology etc. Makrofol, a particular group of thermoplastic polymers, is used for radon detection. High background track numbers in the foils cause big uncertainties for places where the radon concentrations are quite low. Therefore, it is of great importance to lower the background track signal as much as possible, without reducing the sensitivity of the foils. The present study reports track density and sensitivity of Makrofol-DE after thermal annealing. The unexposed foils were heated at temperatures ranging from 110C to 140C for 10 min with the aim of observing changes in the number of background tracks. As a result a reduction in the background track density was observed. In order to observe the change in the sensitivity, pre-heated and unheated foils were exposed to alpha radiation in a radon chamber. At the temperatures of 110, 120, and 130°C, the track density in the heated and unheated exposed foils is quite similar. An increase was observed in the track density in heated exposed foils at 140C.

The main goal of this work is to establish the influence of annealing on the properties of Cz-Si wafers previously subjected to the hydrogen ion-beam treatment at 25 or 300-350°C. It is demonstrated by the conducted study that, despite similarity in the effects of the hydrogen ion-beam treatment at different temperatures on some electrical properties of the wafers (photovoltage spectra, thermoelectromotive force sign), thermal stability of changes in these properties due to the hydrogen ion-beam treatment depends on the hydrogenation temperature.

Opis:
Recrystallization during isothermal annealing is studied in a twin-roll cast Al-Mn-Fe-Si alloy with Zr addition. Al₃Zr precipitates, which are known to improve the recrystallization resistance by exerting the Zener drag on migrating grain boundaries, form during heat treatment at 450°C. Materials with and without Al₃Zr precipitates are subjected to 4 passes of equal channel angular pressing at room temperature and a submicrometric grain size is achieved. In the course of isothermal annealing materials recrystallize at 400°C, 425°C and 450°C. The time required for recrystallization follows an Arrhenius equation. Recrystallization kinetics is similar independently of the presence of Al₃Zr precipitates. Precipitation of α-Al(Mn,Fe)Si particles is thought to increase the recrystallization resistance in the material without Al₃Zr.

Non grain oriented isotropic electrical steels, commercially called NGOES, were investigated in cryogenic temperature conditions. At cryogenic temperatures plastic deformations form strong structural heterogeneities in the sample thickness. Samples processed by cryo rolling show a bigger storage energy. To achieve abnormal grain growth through the process of static recrystallization, the annealing conditions were applied to the deformed samples. Moreover, minimal magnetic losses were reached when mean grain size diameter was approximately 150 μm.

Opis:
$(BaTiO_3)_{0.84}(CeO_2)_{0.16}$ thin films were prepared by electron beam evaporation method. X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy revealed the amorphous structure for the as-prepared films. The thin films were annealed at temperatures: 200, 300, 400 and 500C for 1 h in air. Small and low intensity crystalline peaks were observed at annealing temperature of 200C for 1 h. The intensity and the number of the crystalline peaks were increased with increasing annealing temperature. Nanocrystals, of dimensions in the range 60-76 nm, were obtained when the annealing was performed at 500°C. The indexed diffraction pattern of the annealed thin film revealed a monoclinic structure. A two-layer model was used to describe the experimental ellipsometric data. The Bruggeman effective medium approximation was used to describe the surface roughness layer and the Cauchy dispersion relation was used to describe the main $(BaTiO_3)_{0.84}(CeO_2)_{0.16}$ layer. The optical constants of the thin films over 300-1100 nm spectral range were measured. The optical band gap showed gradual decrease with the annealing temperature. The accurate determination of the optical constants of the thin films is very useful and should be taken into consideration in the design of devices using optical thin films technology.

This paper presents the investigations of electrical properties and effect of annealing on conductivity of $(CoFeZr)_{x}(CaF_2)_{100-x}$ nanocomposites produced by ion-beam sputtering in the Ar and $O_2$ ambient. Investigations into conductivity of $(CoFeZr)_{x}(CaF_2)_{100-x}$ nanocomposites depending on the measuring temperature and the annealing temperature have been performed. The application of a combined argon-oxygen beam brings about lowering of the potential barrier on the surface of nanoparticles. In the course of annealing the additional oxidation occurs. First it proceeds on the surface and then all through the metallic-phase particles.

Opis:
Scanning tunneling microscopy, positron annihilation and X-ray diffraction were applied for the study of annealing of submicrocrystalline nickel prepared by equal channel angular pressing. Several processes were revealed in the structure of submicrocrystalline nickel on different scale levels during annealing in the range Δ T=(20÷360)°C. A decrease of grain nonequiaxiality and further structure refinement were observed with a temperature increase in the range Δ T=(20÷180)°C. Subgrain growth with maximum =60 nm at 120°C occurred on the lower scale level within the same temperature range. Grain growth and microstress decrease in submicrocrystalline nickel observed at T>180°C indicate the beginning of recrystallization. The main positron trap centers were identified in submicrocrystalline nickel within different temperature ranges. In as-prepared samples positrons are trapped at dislocation-type defects and vacancy clusters that can include up to 5 vacancies. At the annealing temperature Δ T=(20÷180)°C positrons are trapped at low-angle boundaries enriched by impurities. Within the range Δ T=(180÷360)°C the dominant trap is dislocations.

The goal of the present work is to compare progressive technology - rolling at cryogenic temperature and classical rolling at ambient temperature followed by an investigation of their impact on the final microstructure and the magnetic properties of non-oriented electrical steel. Non-oriented electrical steel is characterized by high magnetic induction, low magnetic losses, and low coercivity. The best magnetic properties are achieved using preferable texture and optimal grain size. In this paper there is analyzed the percentage of different textural components after cryo-rolling and after rolling at ambient temperature. To obtain maps of inverse pole figures, the electron backscatter diffraction method was used. The main contribution of this study was that the samples rolled at cryo conditions and after final annealing reached better magnetic properties than at ambient temperature, which was reflected by low magnetic losses and coercivity.

Opis:
In alloy materials, the onset of crystallization temperature $(T_{x})$ is treated as the threshold of structural stability. In amorphous materials, this threshold is the temperature above which heterogeneous crystalline grains begin to appear. However, in amorphous materials, frozen nuclei of the crystalline grains also come into existence during the production process. These nuclei have a strong influence on the properties of the amorphous materials. The growth of the nuclei of the crystalline grains is possible even below the crystallization temperature, and maintaining control over their size allows the application properties, for example the magnetic properties, to be controlled. In this paper, the influence of two-stage isothermal annealing (below the crystallization temperature) on the structure and magnetic properties of $Fe_{61}Co_{10}Y_{8}W_{1}B_{20}$ alloy was investigated. Samples of the material were prepared in the form of plates, and subjected to thermal treatment at temperatures of 700 K and 770 K, for 1 and 3.5 hours, respectively.
