Opis:
Amorphous and nanocrystalline ferromagnetic glass-coated microwires show excellent magnetic properties that make them very suitable to be employed as sensing elements in devices for technical applications. New $Fe_{40}Ni_{38}Mo_4B_{18}$ alloy composition can be appropriate to prepare soft magnetic nanocrystalline microwires which exhibit magnetic bistability even in the nanocrystalline state. Stability of magnetic properties after different thermal treatments ($T_{a}$ = 250-425°C) and after nanocrystallization was confirmed by the switching field $H_{sw}$ measurements. The frequency dependence of the switching field was investigated. Two contributions to the domain wall switching mechanism were recognized: magnetoelastic one coming from the magnetoelastic interaction of the magnetic moments with the stresses and relaxation one coming from the structural relaxation of local defects at atomic scale. But, the relative role of both contributions has been shown to vary strongly in different stage of devitrification.

Opis:
In this report we demonstrate that mechanical alloying is an alternative process to produce the intermetallic compound MnBi. Magnetically MnBi powder is prepared from the elemental powders by mechanical alloying in a planetary ball mill and then solid-state reaction at a relatively low temperature. The MnBi powder was aligned in a magnetic field and isostatic pressed. The X-ray pattern of powder reacted clearly shows the intensity peaks of the MnBi phase. After annealing the magnetization was about 1.0×10$\text{}^{-4}$T m$\text{}^{3}$/kg.

Opis:
High-entropy alloys have attracted increasing attentions because of their unique compositions, microstructures, and adjustable mechanical and functional properties. In this work, mechanical and magnetic properties of the FeSiBAlNiMo high-entropy alloy were studied in heat-treated conditions. Influence of temperature and time of sintering was investigated. The lowest coercivity H_c=370 A/m was reached at sintering temperature 580°C, during 20 min in Ar/10H₂ atmosphere. Resistivity decreases from R=0.006 Ωcm at 580°C of sintering temperature to R=0.0004 Ωcm at temperature 1100°C. Transverse rupture strength TRS = 340 MPa as well as the Young modulus E=87 GPa were much higher in the case of sintering at 1100°C in comparison to TRS = 5 MPa and E=7.5 GPa at sintering temperature 580°C. Low temperature consolidation made possible to structure recovery and stress relief of amorphous-nanocrystalline structure. Higher temperature above 1100°C induced sintering processes and formation of complex borides.

Opis:
In this present study attempts have been made to synthesize $Fe_{80}B_{20}$ crystalline/amorphous nanocomposite powder by using surfactant-assisted high-energy ball milling. Comparison has been made for the differences in evolved microstructure via solidification and solid state phase transformation under equilibrium and non-equilibrium processing conditions. Structural analysis reveal that initially observed $Fe_2B$ and $Fe_3B$ intermetallic phases tend to disappear even at 1 h milling time and eventually lead to the stabilization of α-Fe nanoparticles and possible formation of amorphous phase by increasing milling time. This resultant structure governs the magnetic behaviour of the $Fe_{80}B_{20}$ nanoalloy.

Opis:
The influence of the magnetic field annealing on the magnetoimpedance effect has been investigated in rapidly quenched $(Fe_{0.5}Ni_{0.5})_{78}Nb_{7}B_{15}$ monolayer and bilayer thin ribbons. The highest impedance ratio value $(ΔZ//Z)_{max}$=72% and the maximum field sensitivity $η_{max}$=12 %/Oe was obtained in the bilayer ribbon, annealed under longitudinal magnetic field at 773 K that exhibited nanocrystalline structure. The higher values of $(ΔZ//Z)_{max}$ in bilayer ribbons, as compared to their monolayer counterparts, are attributed to the increased ratio of their thickness to the penetration depth.

Opis:
The magnetization processes in region of small excitation magnetic fields - Rayleigh region, were investigated on the amorphous and nanocrystalline FINEMET ribbons. The significant differences in behaviour of these materials were found. This could be explained by the difference in the value of magnetoelastic anisotropy as well as by the different thickness of the domain walls in these materials.

Opis:
The study presents magnetization process behaviour versus operating temperature up to 100°C in dual-phase ferromagnets in the light of their complex permeability spectra and energy losses from quasi-dc regime up to about 1 MHz upon defined peak induction. The samples consist of two Co- and Fe-based ball-milled-ribbon powders mixed in the same mass ratio. The magnetic characterization has been carried out by a digital hysteresisgraph-wattmeter using complex permeability approach to the linear material.
Temperature invoked reduction of anisotropy leads to the decrease of hysteresis losses and significantly affects the low-frequency part of permeability and losses that is ascribed to domain wall movement. The high-frequency behaviour remains unchanged with respect to increase of temperature.
