We review briefly recent results concerning the stability of para-, ferro-, and antiferromagnetic states in the Kondo-lattice limit. Both the macroscopic quantities such as the specific heat and the electrical resistivity, as well as the magnitude of the magnetic moment and the mass enhancement (together with its spin dependence) are discussed.

Opis:
The electronic self-energy of the two-dimensional Hubbard model, computed in the non-crossing approximation within the composite operator method, is studied as a function of frequency as well as temperature at the Fermi surface, for a value of doping at which the pseudogap is already well developed. For values of momentum belonging to the phantom arc of the Fermi surface, both dependences show anomalous power law behavior in contrast to that expected from the Fermi liquid theory.

Opis:
We study the two-orbital Hubbard model in the limit of vanishing kinetic energy. The phase diagram in the V-J plane, with V and J denoting the interorbital hybridization and exchange coupling respectively, at half filling is obtained. A singlet(dimer)-triplet transition is found for a critical value of the ratio V/J. The entropy of formation, both in the mode and in the particle pictures, presents a jump at the same critical line in conformity with the suggested relation between criticality and entanglement.

Opis:
We generalize the standard attractive Hubbard, having an on-site pair creation operator Q$\text{}_{i}$ = a$\text{}_{i↑}$a$\text{}_{i↓}$, to one with n components Q$\text{}_{iα}$ = a$\text{}_{iα↑}$a$\text{}_{iα↓}$, α=1,2,...,n. In the limit n → ∞ we obtain the Ginzburg-Landau functional. On this basis we explore the crossover from weak (BCS) to strong coupling (Bose-Einstein condensation) superconductivity. The associated self-consistent equations for the Ginzburg-Landau parameters are similar to those of the T-matrix approach. The evolution of the band structure with increasing interaction strength is studied and correlated with the behavior of the pair propagator and the transition temperature. We find that the pairing interaction creates a new band which moves downwards in energy as the interaction strength increases and separates into a lower Hubbard band when the interaction strength becomes comparable to the band width. In the strong coupling regime, a third band with small spectral weight is also found in between the lower and upper Hubbard bands.

Results for the magnetic-field-induced changes of the heavy quasiparticles in $YbRh_{2}Si_{2}$ are presented. The bands are determined by means of the Renormalized Band method. The progressive de-renormalization of the quasiparticles in the magnetic field, as well as the many-body enhancement of the Zeeman splitting are accounted for, using field-dependent quasiparticle parameters deduced from Numerical Renormalization Group studies.

It is shown that mean values of electron operators in variational Gutzwiller state are equal to mean values of corresponding classical quantities calculated by means of a hermitian matrix model. In cases with small number of electrons in the system this property enables exact calculation of the mean values. In case of large number of electrons a simple and effective Monte Carlo method is formulated (within matrix model).

Opis:
We investigate two-site electronic correlations within generalized Hubbard model, which incorporates the conventional Hubbard model (parameters: t (hopping between nearest neighbours), U (Coulomb repulsion (attraction))) supplemented by the intersite Coulomb interactions (parameters: J$\text{}^{(1)}$ (parallel spins), J$\text{}^{(2)}$ (antiparallel spins)) and the hopping of the intrasite Cooper pairs (parameter: V). As a first step we find the eigenvalues E$\text{}_{α}$ and eigenvectors |E$\text{}_{α}$〉 of the dimer and we represent each partial Hamiltonian E$\text{}_{α}$|E $\text{}_{α}$〉〈 E$\text{}_{α}$| (α=1,2,...,16) in the second quantization with the use of the Hubbard and spin operators. Each dimer energy level possesses its own Hamiltonian describing different two-site interactions which can be active only in the case when the level will be occupied by the electrons. A typical feature is the appearance of two generalized t-J interactions ascribed to two different energy levels which do not vanish even for U=J$\text{}^{(1)}$=J{(2)}=V=0 and their coupling constants are equal to ±t in this case. In the large linebreak U-limit for J$\text{}^{(1)}$=J$\text{}^{(2)}$=V=0 there is only one t-J interaction with coupling constant equal to 4t$\text{}^{2}$/|U| as in the case of a real lattice. The competition between ferromagnetism, antiferromagnetism and superconductivity (intrasite and intersite pairings) is also a typical feature of the model because it persists in the case U=J$\text{}^{(1)}$=J$\text{}^{(2)}$=V=0 and t≢0. The same types of the electronic, competitive interactions are scattered between different energy levels and therefore their thermodynamical activities are dependent on the occupation of these levels. It qualitatively explains the origin of the phase diagram of the model. We consider also a real lattice as a set of interacting dimers to show that the competition between magnetism and superconductivity seems to be universal for fermionic lattice models.

Opis:
Gutzwiller variational ground states |Φ$\text{}^{G}$⟩ of π electrons, described by single-band half-filling Hubbard model, were determined for the molecules C$\text{}_{60}$ and C$\text{}_{70}$ and their energies and magnetic properties investigated. To construct these states two types of trial functions were used: generalized spin-density wave |Φ$\text{}_{SD}$⟩ and tight-binding wave |Φ$\text{}_{ΤΒ}$⟩. Our results evidently show that the Gutzwiller state |Φ$\text{}_{TΒ}^{G}$⟩ determined by means of function |Φ$\text{}_{ΤΒ}$⟩ has lower energy than the other investigated variational states |Φ$\text{}_{SD}^{G}$⟩. Mean values of the operators in the Gutzwiller states were calculated using Monte Carlo method.
