Opis:
This paper uses the special theory of relativity to introduce a novel solution to Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen paradox. More specifically, the faster-than-light communication is described to explain two types of EPR paradox experiments: photon polarization and electron-positron pair spins. Most importantly, this paper explains why this faster-than-light communication does not violate the special theory of relativity.

We investigate the effect of field changing on two qubit entanglement. We choose the coherent state, the cat state and the squeezed state as different states of interacting field with atom. The correlation between two qubits can be degraded by environmental noise, this phenomenon has been labelled sudden death of entanglement. The double Jaynes-Cummings model as a solvable model is used for describing the dynamic of sudden death of entanglement. We measure two-qubit entanglement using the concurrence and the negativity. The Fisher information is introduced, too, and compares results with previous entanglement measures. Finally we conclude that the Fisher information is not an entanglement measure.

The advantages of quantum information processing and transmission over corresponding classical operations are connected to the existence in composite quantum-mechanical systems states without classical counterparts - the so-called entangled states. The paper shows and examines various applications of entangled states in the quantum information theory. Recent results connected with characterization and geometry of entangled states are examined with the emphasis on some unsolved mathematical problems.

One of the possible ways of formulation of an information loss paradox refers to an entanglement of the two particles created in a vicinity of an event horizon. Evolution of the entangled particles and an interaction with their own environments should lead to a decay of the entanglement. However obvious, such a perspective appears to be too naive in this case.

Several proposed quantum computer models include measurement processes, in order to implement nonlocal gates and create necessary entanglement resources during the computation. We discuss some examples in which the measurements can be delayed for two- and three-qubit nonlocal gates. We also discuss implementing arbitrary nonlocal gates when measurements are included during the process.

Opis:
Quantum Fisher information has recently been an essential tool for analyzing the phase sensitivity of the quantum states in various quantum tasks, requiring high precision, such as quantum clock synchronization, positioning and many applications which include quantum interferometers. Due to the interactions with the environment, all quantum systems are subject to various decoherence effects. Therefore the research on quantum Fisher information under decoherence has been recently attracting more attention. In this work, analyzing the quantum Fisher information, we study the phase sensitivity of bipartite quantum correlations, in particular four Bell pairs amplitude damping channels. For a specific Bell state we arrive at similar results of Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) states (as expected). For the other three Bell states, we present our results which point the interesting behavior of quantum Fisher information with respect to the decoherence rate. We also find the regions where the quantum Fisher information exhibits discontinuities.

We study the quantum Fisher information (QFI) of W states and W-like states under decoherence. In particular, we find that on the contrary to amplitude damping and depolarizing decoherence, a W-like state of 3 qubits obtained by discarding 1 qubit of a genuine W state of 4 qubits is more robust than a genuine W state of 3 qubits under amplitude amplifying and phase damping decoherence.

The influence of nonlinear Kerr-like medium on the phenomenon of entanglement sudden death and birth in a double Jaynes-Cummings model is investigated. It is shown that the entanglement sudden death and birth phenomenon may appear in this system and the duration of entanglement sudden death and birth can be controlled by the nonlinear Kerr-like medium. Particularly, the phenomenon of entanglement sudden death and birth disappears one after another if we increase the value of the Kerr coefficient χ continuously, and all disappears if the value of the Kerr coefficient χ is large enough.

A scheme is presented to generate an entangled atomic state, for which the quantum phase affects the atom-atom entanglement when the atom interacts with external light fields. The quantum phase enhances the entanglement and extends the time that the system stays in stronger entanglement state or the phase makes the system more robust. It is also shown that the quantum phase is able to delay the entanglement sudden death and hasten the entanglement revival.

We show that entanglement in one-dimensional spin and electron systems, with one excitation, depends only on the system size and has very simple form in both multipartite and bipartite case. Regarding the multipartite case, we present very simple expressions for global entanglement and N-concurrence, and show that they are mutually related. In the bipartite case, we give expressions for I-concurrence and negativity, and show that they are also dependent on each other.

Opis:
We discuss spin dependent single particle charge transport as well as the spin pairwise entanglement processes in a double barrier junction. The junction consists of a superconductor connected to two normal or spin-polarized conductors, or semiconductors. Special attention is focused on a non-local process known as a crossed Andreev reflection. The non-local Andreev reflection occurs when an incident electron (hole) from one lead, injected with a subgap energy onto a superconducting layer, transforms into an Andreev hole (electron) in the second lead. At the same time, a Cooper pair is created in the superconductor. Using the Bogolubov-de Gennes equation with appropriate boundary conditions we calculate and discuss probabilities of processes relevant for charge transport through the junction. The dependence of the tunneling charge transport on the strength and orientation of the exchange field in the ferromagnetic electrodes, and on the height of the tunnel barriers as well as on the distance between the electrodes are presented. We discuss briefly the physics of creation and charge transport of spin entangled electron-hole pairs in the junction.

Entropy properties of the superposed photon-subtracted two-mode coherent states are quite different from that of the single state. Tsallis entropies of the superposed states have extreme values, while that of the single state change monotonously. Further, it is found that the positions of the maxima of the entropies are independent of the entropic index. Around the maxima of the entropies, the entanglement transfer from the superposed states to two initially separable qubits is nearly complete.

In order to create polarization based entanglement networks of W₄ state, we propose an optical setup, which uses only four horizontally polarized photons as resource which implies no entanglement requirement as a resource. This setup can generate target state deterministically, by operating several quantum optical gates, which can be realized with current photonics technology. The setup we propose is composed of one Not, two Hadamard, five Controlled Not (CNot) and one Toffoli gate.

In this work, we study the entanglement dynamics of the damped Jaynes-Cummings model with the transient effects modeled as the linear sweep of the coupling coefficient between the atom and the field. We show that the decoherence of the entanglement can be controlled by the transient effects under the influence of damping. These effects can accelerate and can decelerate the decoherence of the entanglement during the time-evolution of the system, by adjusting the frequency of the Rabi oscillations.
