Opis:: W artykule omówiony został wpływ systemów informacji rzecznej na poprawę bezpieczeństwa w żegludze śródlądowej. Analizie poddane zostały wypadki śródlądowych jednostek pływających na Odrzańskiej Drodze Wodnej. Podano przykłady wybranych wypadków żeglugowych, które zdarzyły się w latach 2002- 2015. Dokonano analizy wpływu systemów informacyjnych na funkcjonowanie i rozwój transportu wodnego śródlądowego. Celem artykułu jest analiza wybranych systemów informatycznych wykorzystywanych w transporcie wodnym śródlądowym oraz ocena ich wpływu na poprawę bezpieczeństwa funkcjonowania żeglugi śródlądowej na przykładzie wdrożonego na Odrzańskiej Drodze wodnej systemu RIS Dolna Odra.
Paper discussed the impact of river information systems on improving safety in inland navigation. Inland waterway accidents on the Odra River have been analyzed. Examples of selected shipping accidents that occurred in the years 2002-2015 are presented. The impact of the information systems on the functioning and development of inland waterway transport was analyzed. The aim of this article is to analyze selected IT systems used in inland waterway transport and to assess their impact on improving the safety of inland navigation on the example of the Lower Odra RIS implemented on the Oder Waterway.

Opis:: Inland shipping is one of the most neglected transport modes in Eastern Europe. Despite its indisputable advantages, such as the ability to transport goods of high weight and volume at the lowest unit transportation cost, low environmental impact and thus the lowest external costs, inland shipping does not play a significant role as a transport branch in many countries of the European Union. This is primarily due to the poor condition of the waterway infrastructure, the maintenance of which has not been properly financed for decades. In the public’s opinion, IWT is often considered an outdated form of transportation that does not meet the current needs of the transportation market. This article aims to indicate that the RIS system is an important tool for managing inland waterways and inland shipping. Therefore, it is also an important innovation which can redefine the role of IWT in the transport system. RIS can contribute to improving the logistic systems and transport safety. The literature analysis, descriptive statistics and taxonomic analysis were carried out to present the importance of the RIS system and its innovativeness. The study contributes to the discussion on the impact of modern information services and IT-tools on inland shipping and its role in modern transport systems. Inland waterborne transport is the missing mode, which could supplement the infrastructure deficits, and with the use of the RIS system, interconnect inland shipping into the transportation chains.

Opis:: Artykuł przedstawia wyniki prowadzonych badań, dotyczących aktualnych warunków żeglugowo-nawigacyjnych, intensywności ruchu statków, wypadków i incydentów dla dolnego odcinka Wisły jako uzasadnienie do wprowadzenia systemu wspomagającego żeglugę śródlądową na Dolnej Wiśle. Przedstawiono i scharakteryzowano dwa warianty wdrożenia systemu informacji rzecznej.
The article presents the results of conducted research on actual navigation conditions, traffic intensity, accidents and incidents for the part of the Vistula River as a justification for introducing the inland waterway navigation system in the Lower Vistula . Two variants of the implementation of the river information system were presented and characterized.
