Kooperacja na skalę globalną, dezintegracja wertykalna oraz koncentracja na podstawowej działalności przedsiębiorstw spowodowały, iż zaczęto dostrzegać, że firmy funkcjonują w łańcuchach dostaw, które mają układ sieciowy. W ślad za tym powstało wyzwanie efektywnej koordynacji wszelkich przepływów w tych układach.
Supply chain management is of fundamental importance nowadays, contributes to gaining a competitive advantage and creating the value of companies participating in such chains. The worldwide literature emphasizes the necessity of the interdisciplinary perceiving of this term. The main aim of this article is to analyze the way of understanding the term "supply chain management" by the managers in Poland. The author's analysis is based on the empirical research conducted in 2011on the sample of 79 senior level managers responsible for logistics/supply chain management and representing the largest production and trade companies in Poland.

Poniższy artykuł prezentuje współczesne cele zarządzania łańcuchem dostaw a także przedstawia warunki społeczne dla przedsiębiorstw działających w obszarze logistycznym. W pierwszej części artykułu, omawiane jest zagadnienie zastosowania zarządzania logistycznego w realiach łańcucha dostaw. Następnie rozważana jest kwestia czy obecne warunki determinujące działanie łańcucha dostaw charakteryzują się stabilnością. Przedstawiony jest także wpływ tych warunków na działanie łańcucha dostaw. Na zakończenie, artykuł przedstawia logistykę socjalną jako nowy kierunek rozwoju logistyki tradycyjnej.

The aim of this article is to identify the characteristics of the supply chains in emergency management. There are presented analysis which focused on the specifics of the emergency management process, logistical approach to this process, and supply chain management in emergency situations. The research process was based on studies of national and foreign literature.

W artykule przedstawiono koncepcję pomiaru dokonań wraz z możliwością jej zastosowania w zarządzaniu łańcuchem dostaw. Zaprezentowano również praktyczny model pomiaru dokonań w łańcuchu dostaw. Model ten zawiera trzy kluczowe obszary do optymalizacji: transport, zasoby oraz IT. Do każdego z wymienionych obszarów zaprezentowano przykładowe wskaźniki pomiaru. Model ten może, po dokonaniu niewielkich modyfikacji mających na celu uwzględnienie lokalnej specyfiki partnerów łańcucha, znaleźć zastosowanie w polskich przedsiębiorstwach zorganizowanych w łańcuchy dostaw.
The article presents performance measurement concept with its application possibility in supply chain management. A practical performance measurement model in supply chains was also presented. Stated model comprises three key areas – transportation, resources and information technology optimization. Against each of aforementioned areas exemplar performance indicators were set. Contemplated model, pursuant to insignificant adjustments implementation, aimed to consider local aspects of supply chain partners, can be applicable in polish companies, that constitute supply chains.

The aim of this article is trying to draw the issues of risk management in the supply chain, its essence, classification and relationship between supply chain management and risk management. In addition, article applies risk criteria in the supply chain, with examples of risks that may occur between the participants. Identification of the risk level allows to define areas which should be carefully analyzed by organizations. The risk management process brings measurable benefits, but it is only possible when the factors affecting on the supply chain had been identified before.

Analiza bibliometryczna artykułów naukowych dostarcza cennych informacji o strukturze zarówno nauki, jak i jej wybranych obszarów (np. zarządzania łańcuchem dostaw). Autorzy artykułu dokonali przeglądu publikacji w "Gospodarce Materiałowej i Logistyce" za lata 2010-2012 z zastosowaniem narzędzi analizy bibliometrycznej. Celem przeglądu była identyfikacja obszarów badawczych w zakresie zarządzania łańcuchem dostaw oraz ustalenie zawartości i struktury. Cel badań został zrealizowany poprzez analizę bibliometryczną bazy opublikowanych w latach 2010-2012 artykułów (ich anglojęzycznych abstraktów). Rezultaty analizy posłużyły do sformułowania wniosków dotyczących kluczowych, newralgicznych kierunków rozwojowych badań zarządzania łańcuchem dostaw w polskim obszarze badawczym na najbliższe lata.
Bibliometric analysis of scientific articles provides valuable information on the structure of both science and the selec- lod areas (eg. supply chain management). The authors reviewed the publication in „Materials Management and Logistics” for the years 2010-2012 using bibliometric analysis tools. The purpose of the review was to identify areas of research in the field of supply chain management and to determine the content and structure. Aim of the study was carried out by analyzing the bibliometric database for 2010-2012 published articles (the English-language abstracts). Bibliometric analysis confirmed the high performance potential of supply chain management as an area of scientific and research activities. Despite the narrow time frame of the analysis in the study area was observed high variability subjects of articles (as well as research projects, the underlying). Some research areas have remained unchanged, and the number of published articles confirmed the continued interest of researchers defined issues (eg. transport processes within the supply chain). In some of the analyzed periods occurred more than average interest in part of the problem areas.

Arkuszowy druk offsetowy jest obecnie najpopularniejszą metodą druku. Stosowany jest do produkcji szerokiej gamy produktów poligraficznych, od ulotek czy książek po wysokiej jakości opakowania i etykiety. Stosowany jest zarówno do małych, kilkusetnych nakładów jak i do wielkonakładowych, kilkutysięcznych edycji. Otrzymanie produktu wysokiej jakości jest zadaniem bardzo trudnym ze względu na szereg zjawisk występujących podczas procesu drukowania, które powodują wiele problemów i uniemożliwiają uzyskanie wysokiej jakości wydruku. W artykule przedstawiono podejście do zarządzania jakością produktu poligraficznego w oparciu o model dopasowania parametrów nastawu maszyny drukującej do normatywów przedsiębiorstwa. Przedstawiony model jest podejściem uniwersalnym uwzględniającym rodzaj produktu, park maszynowy oraz indywidualne wymagania klienta.
Sheet offset print is currently the most popular printing method. It is used in manufacturing of a wide range of printing product, from leaflets to brochures to books to highly refined packaging and labels. It is used for both small orders of thousand copies and for high, several million editions. Maintaining high print quality is a very difficult task because numerous accompanying phenomena occur during printing process that often cause many problems and render high quality printing impossible. The article presents approach to printing product quality management based on a model of matching printing machine setting parameters to enterprise quality norms. Presented model is a universal approach taking into account printing product type, printing machine type and individual customer quality requirements.

Podstawowy problem to dlaczego finanse łańcucha dostaw powinno być ważnym obszarem zainteresowania menedżerów logistyki. Odpowiedź na to pytanie oraz identyfikacja metod zarządzania finansowego w łańcuchu dostaw są celem badawczym niniejszego opracowania. Artykuł składa się z czerech zasadniczych części. W pierwszej wskazano na współczesne tendencje w dziedzinie zalecanych metod zarządzania przedsiębiorstwem i ich konsekwencje dla zarządzania łańcuchem dostaw. W drugiej uzasadniono równoważny charakter finansów łańcucha dostaw z problematyką fizycznego przemieszczania oraz przepływu informacji. Część trzecia dotyczy identyfikacji różnic między celami zarządzania przedsiębiorstwem a celami zarządzania łańcuchem dostaw złożonym z wielu autonomicznych przedsiębiorstw. Wreszcie część czwarta została poświęcona potencjalnym metodom zarządzania finansowego w łańcuchach dostaw, akcentując znaczenie nowych instrumentów dla budowania przewagi konkurencyjnej łańcucha jako całości.
The key problem is why supply chain finance should be an important area of interest for logistics managers. The answer to this question and the identification of the supply chain financial management methods are the research objectives of this paper. The article consists of four parts. In the first one, we present contemporary trends in recommended business management methods and their implications for supply chain management. The second justifies the equivalence of supply chain finance with the issue of physical movement and information flow. The third part deals with the identification of the differences between the objectives of enterprise management and the objectives of supply chain management. Lastly, the fourth part was devoted to potential methods of financial management in the supply chains, emphasizing the importance of new instruments for building competitive advantage of the chain as a whole.

Purpose: The aim of the article is to analyse and evaluate the influence of logistics supply chain strategies on the results of enterprises implementing them and creating a supply chain on the example of selected Polish manufacturing and trading enterprises. It presents the theoretical aspects of logistics supply chain strategies in contemporary market conditions. A research methodology has been described and a brief description of the studied population has been made. The results of the research concerning logistics supply chain strategies used in practice by the surveyed enterprises has been presented and an attempt to assess the influence of logistics supply chain strategies on the results of enterprises implementing them and creating a supply chain has been made. Design/methodology/approach: The article is based on the study of literature and own empirical research. The results of author’s own empirical research presented in the article come from more extensive studies concerning the analysis of logistics systems and logistics process management of Polish manufacturing and trading enterprises in the years 2014-2016 in the context of building the competitiveness of enterprises. The research was conducted in 2017 by face-to-face interviews with managers responsible for logistics in the surveyed companies using a questionnaire. 298 manufacturing and trading enterprises from north-eastern Poland were examined (55.4% from the Warmia-Masuria Province and 44.6% from the Podlasie Province), characterized by a diversified competitive position on the market. Findings: Contemporary manufacturing and trading enterprises can use logistics both as a main element to achieve the intended competitive position and as an element to strengthen the adopted by the company method to achieve the intended competitive position. The conducted studies confirmed that the implementation of the adequate to the conditions logistics supply chain strategy allows the enterprise to increase the adjustment of operations to requirements and expectations of customers, respond properly to market challenges, achieve the set goals, implement innovations, increase sales revenues with the same or better financial liquidity than competitors’, reduce costs and reduce capital involvement, and consequently, achieve the competitive advantage and intended competitive position of enterprises creating the supply chain. The most frequently implemented logistics strategy in the best enterprises was the supply chain management strategy. In the majority of the best enterprises, an emergent logistics strategy was implemented, which was in a constant stage of creation and development, and was characterized by a quick response to changing customer requirements, environmental conditions and competitors’ activities. Research limitations/implications: More and more logistics managers manage logistics processes on the scale of the enterprise and the entire supply chain. Creating and implementing a logistics strategy in the supply chain is a very complex process. The article presents only selected aspects of logistics supply chain strategies. The issue of logistics supply chain strategies requires further, in-depth research. Practical implications: The article proposes logistics managers of Polish manufacturing and trading enterprises practical suggestions for using logistics supply chain strategies to achieve the intended competitive advantage. Originality/value: The article fills a cognitive gap regarding logistics supply chain strategies. An extensive review of the literature on logistics supply chain strategies in contemporary market conditions has been made. The article also fills an empirical gap. It presents the results of studies concerning selected aspects of logistics supply chain strategies used in practice by the surveyed manufacturing and trading enterprises. The research results presented in the article can be used by logistics managers of Polish manufacturing and trading enterprises.

Zastosowana metoda badawcza to identyfikacja, interpretacja i rozwinięcie dotychczasowego stanu wiedzy w przedmiotowym zakresie.
The study is devoted to the finance supply chain. Due to the controversial treatment of the financial stream in the supply chain as the object of interest of logistics managers, an attempt was made to identify and disclose the relationship between the finance supply chain and the competitiveness of this chain as a whole. The approaches to understanding the finance supply chain was characterized and the use of various financial methods influencing the competitiveness of the chain was indicated. Problems and dilemmas resulting from the search for compatibility between the objectives of enterprises participating in the supply chain and the chain as a whole were also pointed out. The applied research method is the identification, interpretation and development of the current state of knowledge in the subject area.

The article presents one of the modern trends in logistics service. Attention has been paid to the concept of green supply chains. The essence and aspects of a green supply chain have been presented. Furthermore, reasons for introducing changes and examples of implemented solutions have been indicated. The short-term and long-term benefits of transformation traditional supply chains into green alternatives have been also emphasized. The possibility of achieving a competitive advantage in the future, thanks to the use of a sustainable approach, has been also highlighted.

Background: Each international producing organization seeks to implement its processes more effectively to minimize its costs and to maximize its profit. The primary purpose is to keep their inventory value at the lowest possible rate to minimize costs. To this end, the investigated organization operates several processes. One of them is the so-called Vendor Managed Inventory [VMI], in which the supplier manages the inventory at the customer and the second is the consignment inventory processing, in which suppliers store goods at the customer location. The principal goal of this paper is to examine whether the application of these methods may result in cost-effective savings for the examined organization and if yes, to what extent. Methods: This research was carried out in the framework of a case study at a producing organization in Hungary. The selected case is the producing organization located in the North-Great Plain Region in Hungary. Analyses were performed using the relevant data from the inventory reports exported by the SAP as provided by the enterprise. The research was performed in the examined enterprise between 1st – 14th July 2016. Results: The situation analysed in this study provides an opportunity to describe the bullwhip effect and to demonstrate the opportunities to reduce it. This study found that the investigated company could save considerable amounts on packaging materials. We examined six high-volume packaging materials to identify the amount of potential savings. The process is recommended for the company to maintain it in the future; moreover, to expand it in the circle of new suppliers as well. The other investigated method for the minimization of inventory levels was the consignment procurement process. It can be concluded that consignment procurement process is the best method to reduce the examined costs. Conclusion: This research revealed the current distribution-side supply chain management practice, pinpointed the shortcomings and the potential directions of development. The obtained results draw the attention of Hungarian and international enterprises to the importance of conscious supply chain management and the wide range of tools which are available for the development of supply chain efficiency, thereby achieving a higher level of customer service.
Wstęp: Każda międzynarodowa organizacja producenta dąży do ukształtowania swoich procesów tak, aby zminimalizować koszty i zmaksymalizować zysk. Głównym celem jest utrzymanie zapasów na możliwie najniższym poziomie w celu zminimalizowania kosztów. W obrębie organizacji poddanej analizie istnieje kilka różnych procesów. Jednym z nich jest system VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory), w obrębie, którego dostawca zarządza zapasem klienta. Innym systemem jest proces zarządzania zapasem konsygnacyjnym, w którym dostawca przechowuje zapasy w lokalizacji klienta. Celem tej pracy jest analiza czy zastosowanie obu tych metod umożliwia obniżkę kosztów w analizowanej organizacji i jeśli tak, to, w jakim rozmiarze. Metody: W ramach pracy przeprowadzono analizę przypadku (case study) u producenta na terenie Węgier, w regionie północnym kraju. Analizy przeprowadzono na podstawie odpowiednich danych otrzymanych z systemu SAP, dostarczonych przez analizowane przedsiębiorstwo. Okres poddany analizie trwał od 1 do 14 lipca 2016. Wyniki: Uzyskane wynika umożliwiły opisanie efektu wzmocnienia w obrębie łańcucha dostaw oraz zademonstrowanie możliwości jego zmniejszenia. W tracie badań wykazano, że analizowane przedsiębiorstwa jest w stanie zaoszczędzić istotną wartość w obrębie materiałów opakowaniowych. Analizie poddano pozycje z tej grupy o dużych wolumenach w celu określenia potencjalnych oszczędności. Proces ten został zarekomendowanych przedsiębiorstwu do stosowania w przyszłości, również dla nowych dostawców. Druga analizowaną metodą minimalizacji poziomów zapasów był proces zakupu konsygnacyjnego. Wykazano, że proces zakupu konsygnacyjnego jest najlepszą metodą obniżki analizowanych kosztów. Wnioski: Badania zaprezentowały obecny system zarządzania łańcuchem dostaw, jego wady oraz potencjalne kierunki rozwoju. Uzyskane wyniki zwróciły uwagę zarówno węgierskim jak i międzynarodowym przedsiębiorstwom na istotę spójnego zarządzania łańcuchem dostaw oraz szeroki wachlarz dostępnych narzędzi dla zwiększania efektywności łańcucha dostaw, a dzięki temu do zwiększenie poziomu obsługi klienta.
