Im Beitrag wird das Ziel verfolgt, das Bedürfnis der Analyse des Phänomens der (Un)Höflichkeit im akademischen Bereich zu begründen und die akademische Welt auf neue Forschungsperspektiven aufmerksam zu machen. Die Hypothese, die dem Vorhaben zugrunde liegt, dass die genannte Problematik einer näheren Untersuchung bedarf, ergibt sich aus der Annahme, dass der sich in anderen Segmenten des gesellschaftlichen Lebens vollziehende Wandel in der Höflichkeitsauffassung mittlerweile in die akademische Welt eingedrungen ist. Im Hintergrund der Analyse stehen Erwägungen zur gesellschaftlichen Rolle der Hochschule von heute sowie der aktuelle wissenschaftliche Diskurs, der viele Belege der Normverletzungen liefert, die sowohl in der mündlichen als auch in der schriftlichen Kommunikation im akademischen Raum vorkommen. Zum Schluss wird die These bestätigt, dass eine ausführliche Untersuchung neuer Erscheinungen unbedingt notwendig ist, damit das hohe Prestige der hochschulischen Institutionen nicht allmählich abgebaut wird.
The paper presents the scientific foundation of the necessity to analyze the phenomenon of (im)politeness in the academic world as well as to interest the academia in the new research perspectives in this particular field. The hypothesis, which the undertaking of further examination of the issue is based on, results from the assumption that the changes within the understanding of the concept of politeness that are momentarily taking place in various segments of the social life, have now reached the academic environment as well. The theoretical background of the intended analysis are the reflections about the social role of the university nowadays as well as the current scientific discourse, which provides the first empirical evidence of the standards violations, that occur in both oral and written academic communication. The paper ends with the conclusion that a thorough research of the new politeness phenomena is absolutely necessary, otherwise the high prestige of the academic institutions will start to fade out.
Celem artykułu jest uzasadnienie potrzeby zbadania zagadnienia (nie)grzeczności w środowisku akademickim, jak również zwrócenie uwagi środowiska naukowego na nowe perspektywy badawcze w tym zakresie. Tezą leżącą u podstaw bliższego zainteresowania wspomnianą problematyką jest założenie, że zmiany w zakresie pojmowania pojęcia grzeczności, jakie zachodzą w różnych obszarach życia społecznego, objęły w ostatnim czasie również świat akademicki. Tło dla zamierzonej analizy stanowią rozważania na temat współczesnej roli szkolnictwa wyższego, jak również aktualny dyskurs naukowy, który dostarcza pierwszych empirycznych dowodów na zachodzące naruszanie norm grzecznościowych w komunikacji akademickiej, zarówno ustnej, jak i pisemnej. Wnioski płynące z analizy potwierdzają tezę, że konieczne jest przeprowadzenie szeroko zakrojonych badań w zakresie zmian grzecznościowych w celu ratowania ginącego prestiżu instytucji akademickich. - Źródło:
