- Bright colours and lights in big cities have always been fascinating architects. Today, modern technologies opens up new perspectives in facade colour design through light and media. The synergy between architecture and electronic media results in the new design discipline called by ag4 company "mediatecture". LED videoscreens can completely cover building facades and present colourful kaleidoscopic images that dance across the building. This technology enables the colour, light and media design of the large facade surfaces through a wide spectrum of elements: illumination, text and graphic animations in various resolutions, as well as videos. Media facades give new possibilities for the building users' companies, advertisement, for the value enhancement of the architecture and urban environment and for the integration of media, art and architecture. The medialization of a facade construction offers potential for the development of an emotional connection between the observer and the architecture. Therefore, colour become something more than just element for facade finishing - media facade colours function as extensions of architecture rather than something that merely covers the building and become new and powerful architectural design tool.
