    Artykuł poświęcony jest słowackim przekładom poezji Wisławy Szymborskiej, która w roku 1996 została nagrodzona nagrodą nobla. 20 lat później w języku słowackim ukazały się dwa zbiory polskiej poetki. autorka artykułu podsumowuje wszystkie przekłady poezji Wisławy Szymborskiej, które zostały wydane na Słowacji w postaci książkowej lub w czasopismach od roku 1952, czyli od debiutu poetki. Wiele z wierszy zostało przełożonych na język słowacki kilkakrotnie, w artykule poświęcono więc szczególną uwagę fenomenowi serii translatorskiej. Autorka analizuje i porównuje przekłady w serii trzech różnych wierszy poetki.
    This paper deals with the Slovak translations of poems by Wisława Szymborska who was awarded nobel Prize in 1996. Twenty years later two collection of her poems were published in the Slovak language. The author of this paper summarized all translations of W. Szymborska’s poems into the Slovak language which have been published in literature magazines as well as books since 1952, the year of the poet’s debut. Since some poems were translated more than once by different translators, the phenomenon of retranslation is also discussed. various translations of three poems are compared and analyzed in the paper as well.

    Opis:
    Paratext has a considerable impact on the shaping of the way in which a literary work is open to each translation, as well as the dynamics of this openness. critical paratexts that refer to an existing translation prove that new attempts arise from the readers’ unfulfilled expectations. Peritexts, where the poetics of a given author is discussed, point out that the aesthetic value of a given work corresponds to the number of readings of that work (including translations). They also provide a justification (albeit not an indirect one) for individual translation solutions, similarly to paratexts, where the translator provides reflections on his or her own translation. on the other hand, elements of critical epitexts (i.e. reviews) oftentimes become an integral part of a new translated text in a series.
    Književnoj djelo je otvoreno prema svakom novom prijevodu. Paratekstovi u velikoj mjeri oblikuju vrstu i dinamičnost tog “otvorenja”. Kritički paratekstovi su dokaz da je uzrok nastojanja novih prijevoda istog dijela neispunjena očekivanja čitatelja.  S druge strane paratekstovi koji govore o poetici konkretnog pisca dokazuju da postoji paralelizam između vrijednosti književnog dijela i broja njegovih interpretacija (dakle također broja prijevoda). U njima nalazimo također opravdanje posebnih traduktoloških rješenja, slično kao u paratekstovima u kojima prevoditelj objavljuje razmatranja o vlastitom prijevodu. Sastojci kritičkih epitekstova često postaju sastavni dio novog prijevoda u seriji.

    Blisko sześćdziesięcioletni dorobek wydawniczy Wojewódzkiej Biblioteki Publicznej w Opolu charakteryzuje się dużą wszechstronnością zarówno pod względem formy publikacji, jak i tematyki. Obejmuje publikacje bibliograficzne, informacyjne, poradnikowe, szkoleniowe, drukowane katalogi zbiorów oraz wydawnictwa towarzyszące wystawom, konferencjom i seminariom. Wiele książek wydanych przez opolską książnicę rejestruje aktualne wydarzenia społeczne, kulturalne, w szczególności literackie Opolszczyzny, a także przybliża wiedzę o historii regionu w związku z ogłaszaniem reprintów rzadkich druków śląskich. W artykule przedstawiono ową różnorodność działalności wydawniczej WBP w Opolu, podkreślając znaczenie publikowanych wydawnictw dla regionu opolskiego dawniej i dziś oraz prezentując konkretne tytuły wydawnicze zwarte i ciągłe.
    The publishing output of the Voivodeship Public Library in Opole of almost sixty years is characterised by considerable versatility both as far as the form of the publications and their subject matter is concerned. It embraces bibliographical, informative, advice-related, training-oriented publications, printed catalogues of collections and publications which accompany exhibitions, conferences and seminars. Many of the books which were published by the Opole-based publisher register current social, cultural, and in particular literary events of the Opole region. The publisher familiarises the reader with the history of the region by republishing rare Silesiana. The purpose of the article is to present the variety of the publishing activities of the WBP in Opole, the significance of the publications for the Opole region in earlier and in recent times by making reference to specific serial and non-serial publications.

    Opis:
    The article discusses the status and function of paratext based on the series of translations titled Biblioteka Duchowości Europejskiej (Library of European Spirituality). The series itself has been initiated by the Polish Paleo-Slavic community and was published more than ten years ago. The article’s authoress refers to the definition and classification of paratext elaborated on by gérard genette, which has been applied to considerations over translation studies for a long time and served as the basis for distinguishing strategies selected by translators as well as identifying the reception space. in the discussion on paratext, the role of the author of a translation is also taken into account, especially the issue of his or her presence, namely: the translator’s visibility, intentionality, and subjectivity revealed by his or her choices. The reflection made on paratexts, which regards only one series, does not exploit the complicated matter of the problem — it rather inscribes itself into the broader discussion which seems neither to exhaust the subject nor to provide satisfaction, since it forces the researcher to face the field demanding other explorations and contemplations. yet even this general or superficial outline of the problem exposes or confirms the academic arrangements concerning usefulness and functionality of paratext in the process of translating literary works from one system to another. The article also postulates that translation should be incorporated in the space of destination culture, which may assure the translator (the secondary author) full reception of their text, thus allowing the translator’s work to come nearer to the primary reception namely, to assimilate to the process occurring in the realm of departure culture.
    U članku se razmatra problem statusa i funkcije parateksta na primeru izdavačke serije prevoda Biblioteka evropske duhovnosti koja je pre deset godina ustanovljena u krugu poljskih paleoslavista. Polazna tačka za ovo razmatranje je definicija i klasifikacija parateksta koju je uveo Žerar Ženet i koja je odavno prisutna ne samo u književnoistorijskoj refleksiji, već takođe i u razmišljanju o prevodilačkoj delatnosti, strategiji prevodioca i recepcijskom prostoru. U opisu ključnog pitanja, odnosno statusa i funkcji parateksta postavlja se takođe problem uloge prevodioca, njegovog prisustva — vidljivosti, njegovih subjektivnih izbora, namernih strategija itd. ovaj čanak je samo jedna skica opisa paratekstualne problematike u odnosu na prevodilačku delatnost, a u tom osnovnom smislu on se uključuje u širu diskusiju koja se već više godina vodi u naučnoj sredini. i pored toga što je ovo samo uvodni pokušaj prikazivanja statusa i funkcije parateksta u prevodu književnog dela, on na određen pokazuje i potvrđuje visoku korisnost parateksta u prevodilačkom radu i ujedno u recepcijskom procesu, to jest u prijemu i shvatanju dela iz prostora primarne kulture u prostoru sekundarne kulture. dakle na primeru jedne, već u nauci poznate izdavačke serije — Biblioteka evropske duhovnosti pokazan je ne samo paratekst i njegova podela, već i pre svega prisustvo i šira funkcionalnost u odnosu na prevod književnog dela.

    W artykule przybliżono postać Andre Norton – amerykańskiej bibliote-karki, pisarki oraz popularyzatorki literatury fantastyczno-naukowej i fantasy, szcze-gólnie wśród młodych odbiorców. Przedstawiono zarys biografii, pracę i działalność biblioteczną A. Norton. Analizie poddano jej twórczość, ze szczególnym uwzględnie-niem serii „Świat Czarownic” (ang. „Witch World”). Podjęto próbę wyjaśnienia feno-menu popularności książek fantasy tejże autorki i jej roli w kreowaniu pozytywnych postaw i wzorców u odbiorców. W pracy opisano również High Hallack – specjali-styczną bibliotekę dla pisarzy i miłośników literatury fantastycznej, którą stworzyła.
    The article presents the figure of Andre Norton – an American librarian, writer and promoter of science fiction and fantasy, particularly among the younger readers. The article discusses her biography, her creative work as well as her work as a librarian. To that end, the author analyzes her works of fiction, in particular her Witch World series, attempting to explain their popularity and Norton’s role in creat-ing positive attitudes and values among her readers. Moreover, the article discusses also High Hallack, a specialized library created by Norton for the writers and readers of science fiction and fantasy.
