    Artykuł proponuje nową perspektywę w badaniu auto/biograficznej twórczości potomków ocalałych z Zagłady, tj. potraktowanie biografii jako modusu drugopokoleniowej autobiografii. Na podstawie analizy książki Agaty Tuszyńskiej Oskarżona: Wiera Gran (2010) o ocalałej z Zagłady żydowsko-polskiej śpiewaczce autorzy argumentują, że w tym przypadku biografia ocalałej staje się laboratorium rozumienia własnego doświadczenia dla przedstawicielki pokolenia postpamięci. Artykuł ponadto pokazuje, jak w heterogenicznej formie gatunkowej auto/biografii niczym w soczewce skupiają się podstawowe problemy zarówno refleksji o Zagładzie, jak i badań nad życiopisaniem: kwestie identyfikacji, stosowności, wiktymizacji, autentyczności, prawdziwości czy konstruktów kulturowych dotyczących płci.
    This paper offers a new perspective on the life narratives produced by second-generation Holocaust survivors – specifically, it proposes to consider the genre of biography to be a distinctive mode of second-generation autobiography. In its detailed analysis of Vera Gran. The Accused (2010; English translation 2013), a story of the Jewish-Polish star chanteuse and Holocaust survivor Vera Gran, the essay argues that the survivor’s biography becomes Tuszyńska’s laboratory of the self: an opportunity for the member of the postmemory generation to understand her very own experience. The paper also demonstrates how auto/biography – this essentially heterogenic life narrative – may successfully address some of the key issues for both Holocaust and life-writing studies: self-/other-identification, appropriateness, victimisation, authenticity, truthfulness, and gender-related constructs.

    The article is an attempt at a creative reading (one that employs figures and other works by the discussed writer) of Miriam Akavia’s autobiography entitled My Own Vineyard.... Indicated in the title of the article, the most significant theoretical reference here is Aleksandra Ubertowska’s Holokaust. Auto (tanato) grafie. This article uses the Derridean notion of quasi-genre modified by Ubertowska to interpret an important identity-related work by Akavia, a writer whose formative experience was the Holocaust.
    Artykuł jest próbą twórczej lektury (przy wykorzystaniu materiału ikonicznego, a także innych utworów czytanej autorki) autobiografii Miriam Akavii pt. Moja winnica. Najistotniejszym aspektem teoretycznym, zasygnalizowanym w tytule szkicu, pozostaje książka Aleksandry Ubertowskiej Holokaust. Auto (tanato) grafie. Tekst to zastosowanie zmodyfikowanej przez Ubertowską Derridiańskiej kategorii quasi-gatunkowej do interpretacji istotnego dzieła tożsamościowego autorki, której przeżyciem formującym była Zagłada.

    Opis:
    Over the years Annie Ernaux has been trying to deal with the theme of her father’s death. And yet she could not find the appropriate form to express a specific distance that emergedat some point when her father was still alive. By experimenting with various novel literary forms she came to a realization that only the departure from fiction would allow her to convey a kind of “truth” about her father and this unique distance (supposedly attributable to her leaving the social class she had been born and raised in). Consequently, Ernaux decides to reject “literature” and to write an autobiographical piece in the first person, which is somehow flat because it is stripped of all rhetoric layers. In this article I endeavour to show that a deeply engraved thirst for telling the truth about one’s father simultaneously becomes a story about one’s ambitions and about seeking one’s identity. Primarily, however, A Man’s Place is a story about searching for one’s own form of expression and growing up to writing.

    W niniejszym artykule podjęto próbę naszkicowania możliwych kierun-ków badań nad książką i biblioteką w utworach literackich, których daty powstania dzieli znaczna rozpiętość czasowa, nawiązują jednak do wspólnych ram topogra-ficznych. Są to ramy rzeczywistości drohobyckiej, prezentowane w opowiadaniach i powieściach Iwana Franki, Antoniego Stanisława Muellera, Brunona Schulza, An-drzeja Chciuka, Henryka Grynberga i Erwina Schenkelbacha. Analizowane utwory cechuje rozbudowany profil auto/bio/geo/graficzny odzwierciedlający historyczne, artystyczne oraz kulturowe doświadczenia homo localis. Motywy książki, biblioteki i lektury pokazane zostały w perspektywie transformacji indywidualnej pamięci autobiograficznej w pamięć kulturową o odpowiednich dominantach semiotycznych, aksjologicznych i antropologicznych.
    This article is an attempt to outline the possible directions of research on the book and the library in literary works whose dates of creation are divided by a considerable timespan, but which refer to the common topographical framework. In the context of this article these are the frames of Drohobych reality, as presented in the stories and novels of I. Franko, A. S. Mueller, B. Schulz, A. Chciuk, H. Grynberg and E. Schenkelbach. The analyzed literary works are texts with an extensive auto/bio/geo/graphical profile, reflecting various historical, artistic and cultural experiences of homo localis. The book, library and reading motifs have been depicted in the perspective of the transformation from individual autobiographical memory into the cultural memory with the appropriate semiotic, axiological and anthropological dominants.

    Two life writers in the same family--one neurotypical, one autistic—converse about the mountain of material they’ve produced: poems, memoir, essays, scholarship, and documentary film. Preferring to conceive of their work as interdependent and enmeshed, not bound by the strictures of identity politics and thus separate or conflicting, they advance a neurocosmopolitan and rhizomatous understanding of the self in words.  David James “DJ” Savarese is an artful activist, writer, teacher, and Co-Chair of The Alliance for Citizen-Directed Supports. An OSF Human Rights Initiative Youth Fellow (2017-19) and co-producer, narrator, and star of the Peabody award-winning documentary Deej: Inclusion Shouldn’t Be a Lottery, he publishes poems, creative nonfiction, and scholarly essays. Ralph James Savarese has authored five books and co-edited three collections, including the first on neurodiversity. He has received awards from the Herman Melville Society, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Mellon Foundation, which funded a neurohumanities fellowship at Duke University’s Institute for Brain Sciences. He teaches at Grinnell College.  
    Dwóch (auto)biografów z tej samej rodziny – jeden neurotypowy, drugi autystyczny – rozmawia o wierszach, pamiętnikach, esejach, artykułach naukowych i filmach dokumentalnych, które razem stworzyli. Woląc postrzegać swoją pracę jako współzależną i splecioną, niezależną od ograniczeń polityki tożsamości, która ludzi dzieli i konfliktuje ich ze sobą nawzajem, rozmówcy kultywują neurokosmopolityczne i kłączowe porozumienie jaźni poprzez słowa. David James (“D.J.”) Savarese to artysta-aktywista, pisarz, nauczyciel i współprzewodniczący The Alliance for Citizen-Directed Supports, stypendysta OSF Human Rights Initiative (2017–2019) oraz współproducent, narrator i bohater wyróżnionego nagrodą Peabody filmu dokumentalnego Deej: Inclusion Shouldn’t Be a Lottery. D.J. publikuje wiersze, literaturę faktu i eseje naukowe. Ralph James Savarese jest autorem pięciu książek i współredaktorem trzech zbiorów, w tym pierwszej monografii dotyczącej neuroróżnorodności.     In her multifaceted, polyphonic essay “The Gift of Biography,” Caroline Stoessinger offers her reader an intimate insight into the emotional substratum of the ineffable bond between the biographer and her subject. The rapport, whose complex texture involves compassion, respect, and attentiveness, unwittingly manifests itself to the reader as the sine qua non condition of an authentic dialogue soon after he or she accepts Stoessinger’s invitation to join her in retracing the history of her friendship with Alice Herz-Sommer, the heroine of her internationally acclaimed book A Century of Wisdom. In the process of the shared recollection, the emotional horizons of the autobiographer and the reader fuse, allowing the latter to sense that the (auto)biography to which she or he has been made privy, has been gifted to them by the author, who has, imperceptibly, become a dear friend. Two selves sharing their inner lives – Herz-Sommer and Stoessinger, Stoessinger and the reader – share the space of authenticity, in which the hope that reverberates through the genius of Beethoven pierces the darkest of nights.
    W swym wieloaspektowym, polifonicznym, ale jednoznacznie autobiograficznym eseju “Dar biografii” Caroline Stoessinger oferuje czytelnikowi osobisty wgląd w subtelności emocjonalnego podłoża niewyrażalnej słowami więzi między biografką a jej bohaterką. Ta symfoniczna więć, której złożona struktura obejmuje współczucie, szacunek i uważność, bezwiednie objawia się czytelnikowi jako warunek sine qua non autentycznego dialogu kiedy tylko przyjmie zaproszenie Stoessinger, towarzyszyć jej w podróży przez historię jej przyjaźni z Alice Herz-Sommer, bohaterką tłumaczonej na wiele języków książki autorki pod tytułem Wiek mądrości. W procesie wspólnego wspominania horyzonty emocjonalne (auto)biografki i czytelnika stapiają się, pozwalając mu wyczuć, że (auto)biografia, w jaką został wtajemniczony, została mu ofiarowana w darze przez autorkę, która – niepostrzeżenie – stała się mu bliską przyjaciółką. Dwie jaźni dzielące swoje wewnętrzne życie – Herz-Sommer i Stoessinger, Stoessinger i czytelnik – dzielą przestrzeń autentyczności, w której nadzieja rozbrzmiewa w sonatach Beethovena, przeszywając nawet najciemniejszy mrok.
