    Opis:
    The article describes qualitative research analyzing causes and consequences of labelling gifted pupils. Causes and consequences were identified after an analysis of semi-structured interviews with gifted pupils, their classmates and teachers. Identified causes included certain pedagogical strategies such as excluding a gifted pupil from a group of their peers, using specific names for classes, excessive media coverage of specialized classes and pupils. Labelling was further promoted by a curriculum differing in its content, processes and materials offered to gifted pupils only. Consequences of labelling included ostracism and ridiculing of gifted pupils by their classmates, rivalry and hostility. The article concludes with proposals which might help to reduce labelling.

    The aim of our study was to examine adolescent personality in relation to the adolescent school-related self-concept, in particular to its cognitive aspect according to W.U. Meyer’s conception. In addition to selected personality dimensions, our paper focuses also on gender relations of the adolescent school-related self-concept. The research sample was made up of grammar school and university students (N = 100). The five-factor model of personality NEO-FFI (P.T. Costa, R.R. McCrae) and SCEA-M questionnaire (U. Engler, W.U. Meyer) were used as research tools. The results show a statistically significant relationship between neuroticism and fear of social consequences. There is also a statistically significant relationship between conscientiousness and the self-concept of ability. Statistically significant gender differences in favour of women appear in the dimension of fear of social consequences.

    Among many threats of the contemporary world, nuclear weapons should certainly be mentioned. While governments are aware of the disastrous consequences of their use, efforts are still being made to develop nuclear potential. The US withdrawal from the nuclear agreement has prompted Iran to step up its research and development efforts and increase its stockpile of nuclear fuel. To consider possible political consequences of Iran’s expansion of nuclear arsenal, the most significant developments in Iranian history relating to nuclear weapons have been followed. The article focuses solely on the most significant possible political consequences. Conclusion: two extreme scenarios seem most likely: nuclear weapons would provide stability and peace in the region and provide a counterbalance to the US and the negotiating field. A psychological and rational mechanism of the MAD concept would work, or on the contrary, the US concerns about Iran’s dominance in the region and pressure on others to buy weapons would realize.
    Среди множества угроз современному миру обязательно следует упомянуть ядерное оружие. Хотя правители осознают катастрофические последствия его использования, все еще прилагаются усилия по развитию ядерного потенциала. Выход США из ядерной сделки побудил Иран активизировать свои исследования и разработки и увеличить запасы ядерного топлива. Чтобы рассмотреть возможные политические последствия расширения ядерного арсенала Ирана, были кратко рассмотрены наиболее важные события в истории Ирана, связанные с ядерным оружием. В статье рассматриваются только наиболее важные возможные политические последствия. Выводы: два крайних сценария кажутся наиболее вероятными: ядерное оружие позволит принести стабильность и мир в регион, а также создать противовес США и поле для переговоров. Психологический и рациональный механизм, соответствующий концепции MAD, будет работать, или, наоборот, озабоченность США, связанная, в частности, с господством Ирана в регионе и давлением на других с целью покупки оружия.

    This paper explores the socio-cultural interpretation of marriage from the perspectives of Girl child brides and also examines the health consequences of girl child marriage in Katsina Local Government Area (LGA) of Katsina State, North-West Nigeria. Primary data were obtained via in-depth interviews from ten (10) child brides of differing marital status identified through snowball, and purposively recruited for the study. Data were translated, transcribed, arranged thematically and subjected to content analysis. Result revealed that the participants’ socio- -cultural understanding of marriage vary according to personal conviction made to the brides to encourage them accept marriage arrangements. Therefore, marriage was perceived by some child brides as an institution that trains the individual to become an adult through procreation, while some see marriage as an institution which conveys societal respect, and others perceive marriage as an institution where basic needs can be adequately met. Result further revealed that girl child marriage impact both the reproductive and mental health of the girl child. Reproductive health consequences of girl child marriage include pregnancy/childbirth complications, infant mortality, Vesicovagina Fistula (VVF), Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) among others. Mental health consequence of girl child marriage comprises of physical assault (beating), psychological/emotional abuse from intimate partner. Study concluded that girl child marriage is influenced by its socio- -cultural interpretation and it negatively impacts the health needs of the girl child. Study recommends a proper orientation of the Girl child on the meaning and responsibility of the marriage institution, and implications on reproductive and mental health for building a healthy society.

    Aim: Examine the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic on the well-being of teachers (TW) and teacher students (TSW). Method: Nominal Group Technique (NGT) applied in a group of teachers (TG) (n = 23, 100% women, mean age 31.4) and teacher students (TSG) (n = 18, 83.3% women, mean age 21.6). Results: 27 consequences on TW and 21 consequences on TSW found. The highest consensus of 65.2% in the severity of negative consequences on TW was found in the subjective dimension (fear for loved ones) and 56.2% in the severity of positive consequences on TW in the social dimension (spending time with family). The highest consensus of 83.3% in the severity of negative consequences on TSW was found in the social dimension (social isolation). Conclusion: Results of the study contribute to creating interventions to support TW and TSW based on research data.

    The article is devoted to the study of modern problematic issues of causation in criminal law. These issues include, in particular, the issue of relevance of causation in criminal law itself, and the specifics of manifestations of relevance of causation in criminal law. The article notes that the purpose of scientific research is to identify and analyze the characteristics and criteria of relevant causation. The methods of the presented study include dialectical, systemic-structural, logical, etc. The results of the study are summarized in a number of important provisions. The author emphasizes the importance of the study of causation in criminal law as a formal and legal one, which is related to the study of causation as relevant, meeting the requirements and solving the problems of modern criminal law. The article notes that the characterization of causation in criminal law should not be limited to the connection between an act and socially dangerous consequences, since causality expressed by causation is manifested in a combination of components which are part of the content of various criminal law institutions. The article examines some characteristics of the relevance of causation in criminal law. Attention is drawn to the importance of legal and technical reflection of causation in criminal law as a condition for the relevance of causation. The article notes that the formalization of causation is the basis for considering such a connection as relevant (meeting legal requirements). The author examines institutional and inter-institutional manifestations of causation in criminal law. Furthermore, the author examines the causal manifestations which combine a criminal offense (in particular, a crime) and the legal consequences provided for by criminal law in relation to the subject who committed the offense. The article examines the peculiarities of causation in relation to certain criminal law institutions. The main conclusions of the study are the following: the need to clarify the criteria of relevant causation, the statement of relevant causation in criminal law within certain criminal law institutions, the need to consider causation in a broader criminal law context, and not only within the corpus delicti, etc.
