The subject of our interest is to present the significance of the Songun doctrine (Military First) in the North Korea’s internal and international politics. At the beginning, we intend to trace the concept of the Juche ideology and its essential implications for the role of the army in a country ruled by the Kim dynasty since the end of World War II. In the remainder of this study, we would like to characterize the theoretical and explanatory aspects of the Songun doctrine, focusing in particular on reviewing of its principles in terms of politics, economy, culture and propaganda aspects. In the context of the current situation in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, an important role is played by the Byungjin doctrine, initiated by the country’s leader Kim Jong-un and mentioned in our article, which in the future can contribute to the beginning of reforms in Korea’s economy. In summary, we presented forecasts for the future and our attempt to answer the question whether in the current international situation the Songun doctrine will be implemented in its present form.
Przedmiotem naszego zainteresowania jest przedstawienie znaczenia doktryny Songun (armia pierwsza) w polityce wewnętrznej i międzynarodowej Korei Północnej. Na wstępie zamierzamy prześledzić pojęcie ideologii dżucze i jej zasadniczych implikacji dla roli wojska w kraju rządzonym przez dynastię Kimów od zakończenia II wojny światowej. W dalszej części niniejszej analizy chcielibyśmy scharakteryzować aspekty teoretyczno-eksplanacyjne doktryny Songun, zwracając szczególną uwagę na rozpatrywanie jej zasad w wymiarze politycznym, ekonomicznym, kulturalnym oraz propagandowym. Ogromnie istotnym problemem poruszonym w naszym artykule, obecnym w kontekście sytuacji w Koreańskiej Republice Ludowo-Demokratycznej, jest także zainicjowana przez przywódcę kraju Kim Dzong Una doktryna Byungjin, mogąca w przyszłości przyczynić się do zapoczątkowania reform gospodarki kraju. W podsumowaniu przedstawiliśmy prognozy na przyszłość i podjęliśmy się próby odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy w dobie współczesnej sytuacji międzynarodowej doktryna Songun będzie realizowana w dotychczasowej formie.

Chondoism is a 20th-century Korean pantheistic religion, based on the 19th-century Tonghak movement. Originally, Chondoism was recognized as the national religion of Korea, unlike Buddhism and Christianity. Being a patriotic movement, Chondoism was able to develop itself in North Korea when North Korea was liberated from the Japanese occupation (1910–1945). Despite the nature of the North Korean regime, Chondoism is still present in the North Korean society. Like other religious groups in North Korea, the Chondoist religion today serves political aims in this country as the Chondoist Chongu Party belongs to the Democratic Front for the Reunification of Korea. On the other side, its influence cannot be neglected when understanding the society of North Korea.
Czondoizm to dwudziestowieczna koreańska religia panteistyczna, oparta na dziewiętnastowiecznym ruchu Tonghak. Pierwotnie czondoizm był uznawany za religię narodową Korei, w odróżnieniu od buddyzmu i chrześcijaństwa. Będąc ruchem patriotycznym, Czondoizm mógł się rozwinąć w Korei Północnej, kiedy ta została wyzwolona spod okupacji japońskiej (1910–1945). Pomimo charakteru reżimu północnokoreańskiego czondoizm jest nadal obecny w społeczeństwie Korei Północnej. Podobnie jak inne grupy religijne w Korei Północnej, dzisiejsza religia czondoistyczna służy celom politycznym w tym kraju, ponieważ Czondoistyczna Partia Czongu należy do Demokratycznego Frontu na rzecz Zjednoczenia Ojczyzny. Trudno też nie doceniać wpływu czondoizmu na społeczeństwo Korei Północnej.

Opis:
Based on ecocritical theory, theories about ‘The Strange Child’, and theories about play and criteria of play as found in Peter Smith’s Children and Play (2009), this article aims to examine the nature of play in various illustrations of Pinocchio’s sojourn in The Land of Toys. The article also discusses the representations of play in light of the ambiguous message in the book about the necessity of freedom and, at the same time, the necessity of formation. Since physically active play seems to be the most common kind of game in The Land of Toys, the text, but not always the illustrations, seems to perceive physically active play as a hindrance to the formation process where a physical, controlled, and subordinated body is a basic condition.
Basato sulla teoria ecocritica, sulle teorie del bambino misterioso e sulle teorie del gioco di Peter Smith nel volume Children and Play (2009), l’articolo esamina la natura del gioco nel “Paese dei balocchi” in Pinocchio. L’articolo analizza diverse rappresentazioni visive del gioco alla luce del messaggio ambiguo dell’opera collodiana. In particolare, si sofferma sull’ambiguità fra il desiderio e la necessità di libertà e quella di formazione. Il gioco fisico-motorio appare essere l’attività ludica prevalente nel “Paese dei balocchi”. Il testo, tuttavia, a differenza delle illustrazioni che andremo ad esaminare, sembra restituire, invece, l’idea che tale tipologia di gioco sia un impedimento nel processo di formazione del bambino, dal momento che esso prevede, quale condizione basilare, un corpo controllato e subordinato.

The article, while focusing on the protagonist-narrator, demonstrates the structures that are typical of the novel of education and consequently points to the genre of the newest work by Carmine Abate, entitled Il Bacio del Pane. Over the course of one summer, Francesco—mostly because of his having met Lorenzo, the main witness in a mob trial who was forced to hide in the ruins of the old mill, near Spillace—turns from a careless teenager into a youth who becomes dramatically aware of such serious problems running in his community as the existence and operation of organised criminal groups. What is presented, then, are the psychological processes that take place in the internal world of the main character, who can also correctly describe the state he finds himself in. The analysis is carried out in relation to different theories (Bachelard, Freud, Jung).
L’articolo, accennando alla tradizione del Bildungsroman e all’evoluzione del genere nella letteratura italiana contemporanea, si incentra sull’analisi del processo formativo che avviene in Francesso, uno dei protagonisti dell’ultimo romanzo di Carmine Abate intitolato Il bacio del pane (2013). Vista la scoperta di alcuni meccanismi negativi presenti nella realtà circostante, l’adolescente subisce una profonda trasformazione psichica, diventa più maturo e capace di notare come sia cambiato. Viene rilevato come sulla sua formazione influisca la storia di Lorenzo, un uomo sconosciuto costretto a nascondersi dalla mafia nelle rovine del vecchio mulino situate nei dintorni di Spillace, la località in cui si svolge l’azione. L’analisi è basata sulle teorie di studiosi come: Bachelard, Freud, Jung.

The paper analyses the language of two Italian films set in different historical and social contexts. The Leopard (Il Gattopardo) by Luchino Visconti is set in Sicily in 1860, on the background of contemporary political events, with a language corresponding both with the historical period and the social setting. In the film Perfect Strangers (Perfetti sconosciuti) by Paolo Genovese, old friends meet at a dinner table. With their informal talk, the characters’ language strives to be as close as possible to everyday language. The aim of the article is to demonstrate the differences between the language of the first film and the “natural” language of everyday life of the second one. Through comparative analysis, the article demonstrates how the differences in the historical social contexts determine the language of both films. Within the framework of pragmalinguistics, some aspects of the modality and of the information structure of the sentence are taken into consideration.
Questo articolo si concentra sull’analisi del linguaggio filmico di due film italiani appartenenti a contesti storici e sociali diversi: Il Gattopardo di Luchino Visconti, film che racconta la Sicilia del 1860, sullo sfondo degli eventi politici dell’epoca, con un linguaggio corrispondente sia al periodo storico che all’ambiente, e il film Perfetti sconosciuti di Paolo Genovese, che racconta di un incontro informale tra alcuni amici, in cui gli autori si sforzano di avvicinare il più possibile il linguaggio alla lingua quotidiana. L’obiettivo del lavoro è dimostrare quali siano le differenze tra il parlato filmico e il parlato naturale; nel processo di analisi comparativa si mirerà a dimostrare che così come il contesto storico e sociale dei due film è diverso, allo stesso modo è diverso e diversificato il linguaggio. Nel quadro teorico della pragmalinguistica vanno considerati i fattori della situazione comunicativa e alcuni aspetti della modalità e della struttura informativa dell’enunciato.

The history and publishing output of Nasza Księgarnia, Poland’s biggest publisher of children’s and young adult literature founded in 1921 and still operating, has been extensively researched by bibliologists and literature scholars over the last decades (Bylina, 1961; Aleksandrzak, 1972; Rogoż, 2009; Jamróz-Stolarska, 2014; Biernacka-Licznar, 2018a; Gawryluk, Lajborek & Korobkiewicz, 2021). However, the post-2000 productions of contemporary Polish writers and their translations into Italian have not attracted interest from Polish researchers yet. The paper aims to examine the publishing repertory of Nasza Księgarnia and identify the list of titles that made their way into the hands of the Italian reading public between 2012 and 2022. Based on the bibliometric method and interviews with the NK staff, the study generated reliable data and yielded a detailed account of the repertory released on the Italian publishing market in the last decade.
La storia e la produzione editoriale della casa editrice Nasza Księgarnia fondata nel 1921 a Varsavia e operante fino ad oggi, è un tema che è stato oggetto di intense ricerche condotte da bibliologi e studiosi di letteratura per l’infanzia negli ultimi decenni (Bylina, 1961; Aleksandrzak, 1972; Rogoż, 2009; Jamróz-Stolarska, 2014; Biernacka-Licznar, 2018a; Gawryluk, Lajborek & Korobkiewicz, 2021). La questione del repertorio editoriale di autori polacchi contemporanei le cui opere sono state scritte dopo il 2000, e la loro traduzione in italiano, non ha finora incontrato l’interesse dei ricercatori polacchi. L’obiettivo dell’articolo è quello di analizzare il repertorio editoriale di Nasza Księgarnia e stabilire un elenco di titoli che sono stati pubblicati in Italia nel periodo 2012–2022. L’uso del metodo statistico nello studio e le interviste con le persone responsabili dell’introduzione dell’offerta editoriale sul mercato italiano hanno permesso di ottenere dati affidabili e dettagliati per descrivere il repertorio che si è affacciato sul mercato editoriale italiano nell’ ultimo decennio.

The paper offers a contextual reflection on how the ‘Polish refugee’ figure is rendered in two examples of 19 th - and 20 th -century Italian literature. The paper opens with a brief discussion of the term ‘myth’ and its meanings in the age of Digital Humanities and proceeds to outline the literary and non-literary sources of the European myth of Poles as victims of foreign violence. Having given some attention to Edmondo de Amicis’s early poems addressing the 1863 uprising in Poland, the argument then focuses on his short story ‘Profughi polacchi’ (1863) as establishing the pattern of representing Polish emigrants in modern literature. Subsequently, the ways in which this narrative pattern changes in Edoardo Albinati’s novel "Polacco lavatore di vetri" (1998) are analysed to show that the idealised vision of the ‘refugee’ collapses. In conclusion, the dynamics of the presence and productivity of the myth in literature and in journalism are emphasised, and the differences in the handling of the myth in these two forms of writing are highlighted.
Diviso in sei parti, il saggio abbraccia il problema dell’immagine della Polonia e dei polacchi nella produzione di due autori appartenenti a due momenti storici diversi: a quello del 1863 (Edmondo de Amicis) e a quello del 1989 (Edoardo Albinati). La ricerca tematologica si concentra sulla figura del ‘profugo polacco’ e indaga sulla sua presenza nella letteratura italiana. Nel testo vengono brevemente presentate le fonti letterarie ed extra-letterarie del mito europeo dei polacchi come vittime della violenza straniera. Si analizzano, inoltre, alcuni concetti fondamentali della teoria del mito antico e contemporaneo. In base a essi vengono interpretati motivi e tratti distintivi delle due narrazioni per sottolineare la loro fonte comune, cioè quella del mito eroico, trattato con molta serietà da De Amicis e contestato da Albinati, nel cui romanzo la visione idealizzata del “rifugiato” sembra crollare senza perdere però il suo alone mitologico. Infine, l’accento viene posto alla produttività del mito nella letteratura e nel giornalismo e alle loro differenze.
