The current science books for Palestinian elementary schools essentially consist of picture-based activities. Each lesson features images which students are asked to reflect on, and provide oral and written answers to questions linked to each image. This rich curriculum is being delivered in traditional methods, and few teachers have to date ventured into utilizing modern technologies that can be easily accessible. The present research effort measures the affordances of augmented reality in delivering the science curriculum to elementary grades in the West Bank. An interaction analysis study was used, in which activities from the third grade science textbook were demonstrated using AR technologies to identify their role in enhancing learners’ interaction with pictures in the science school books. A sample of 50 third grade female students, from a West Bank basic school for girls, was drawn from the study population (all third grade students in the West Bank). The 50 students were divided evenly into homogeneous control and intervention groups. Seven activities were delivered conventionally for the former and with augmented reality technologies for the latter. The findings suggest that students taught with augmented reality-enhanced procedures were particularly engaged and effectively responsive, both orally and in written tasks.

The purpose of this study is to compare the use of traditional English flash cards and the vocabulary learning method of Augmented Reality to see which English vocabulary learning method is more efficient for elementary school students. The study was conducted at an elementary school in Taiwan, and there were 60 student participants in total. This study adopted an unequal pre-test and post-test experimental design. The study was conducted in two stages in terms of data collection. In the first stage, the control and experimental group took the English vocabulary test, without any teacher instruction, as the pretest. In the second stage, the control group used flashcards to learn 20 target English words by themselves for 40 minutes. The experimental group adopted the Augmented Reality 3D effect on the 20 target words by themselves for 40 minutes. After that, both groups took the same English vocabulary test again, as the posttest. On the whole, Augmented Reality teaching effects apparently exceed the effects of the traditional vocabulary learning method. The results of this study show that the learning method of Augmented Reality was more efficient than that of learning with English flash cards among the various proficiency levels (high, intermediate, and low) in terms of English vocabulary learning. The way of using English flash cards showed significant differences between high and low level groups, as well as between intermediate and low level groups, with the exception being the difference between high and intermediate level groups. It is worthwhile improving children’s English vocabulary learning by using Augmented Reality, by incorporating it into their daily lives through mobile learning.

The paper analyses categories of every-day reality and of a life-world, reaching also for a related notion of intersubjectivity. Whereas all of them have phenomenological background, only the category of every-day reality has made a career in sociology, breaking offthe connection with its philosophical roots. Its phenomenological interpretations are recurred to in the article, together with showing its relation to Lebenswelt. The main concern is the extent to which it is possible to find religious meanings in every-day life in contemporary societies of the broadly-understood West. A degree to which it is allowed to bring meanings deriving from other spheres into the scope of every-day reality, as well as a concrete symbolic domain to be privileged, are historically and culturally changeable. Secularization that affects a society in an institutional dimension and its common sense, makes religious interpretations being less and less intersubjectively supported and loosing their status of being taken for granted. This situation encourages further secularization of individual life-worlds, and at persons who still identify themselves as religious strengthens the separation of religious province from the other domains of meanings and ways of experiencing the world. There is also a number of people who, despite the decline of presence of religious elements in widely shared common sense, perceive their lives through the prism of religious interpretations, and try to shape their own every-day life in this perspective. A remedy to the evanescence of confirmation in every-day communication are smaller communities clustered around shared meanings, as well as a stronger emphasising an experiential aspect. In the circumstances of the multitude of potentially internalizeable interpretative systems, differentiation of world-views and attitudes to the religious stuff, and lesser presence of religious meanings beyond religious institutions, the life-world category, meant as an individual representation of reality and a frame for experiences, can become an adequate tool of studying.

The aim of the presented study is to identify the attitudes of future teachers (in pre-service teacher education) toward Augmented Reality (AR) applications. The innovation experience was carried out in the academic year 2016/17. For the collection of data, the Augmented Reality Applications Attitude Scale (ARAAS), by Küçük, Yilmaz, Baydaş & Göktaş (2014), was adapted to the Spanish context. It is a Likert scale grouped into three dimensions that determine the attitudes of future teachers toward the use of AR applications in education, which are Relevance, Satisfaction and Reliability. In order to analyse data, the statistical software SPSS 23.0 was used. The Bartlett test of sphericity and the Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) test for sampling adequacy were also conducted. Results of the study led to the following conclusions: the students developed a favourable attitude in their role as future teachers toward the use of AR applications as learning tools, which have also provided deep learning.

With the rapid development of Augmented Reality (AR), an increasing number of studies has been conducted to explore the effectiveness of this technology in the field of education. Few, however, have examined how AR might influence EFL (English as a Foreign Language) learners’ vocabulary learning efficiency. To fill in this gap in the literature, the purpose of this study is to compare traditional English flash cards with the vocabulary learning method of Augmented Reality to see which English vocabulary learning is more efficient for elementary school students. The study was conducted at an elementary school in Taiwan, and the participants were 66 third grade pupils in total. The study was conducted at two stages in terms of data collection. At the first stage, the control and experimental groups took the same English vocabulary test without any teacher instruction as a pretest. At the second stage, the control group used flashcards to learn 20 target English words by themselves in 30 minutes. The experimental group adopted the Augmented Reality 3D effect of 20 target words by themselves in 30 minutes. After that, both groups took the same English vocabulary test again as a posttest. On the whole, Augmented Reality teaching effects apparently excel the effects of the traditional vocabulary learning methods. The results of this study have shown that the learning method of Augmented Reality was more efficient than the learning method using English flash cards at various proficiency levels (high, intermediate, and low) in terms of English vocabulary learning. The learning method of English flash cards had significant differences in high and low level groups as well as intermediate and low level groups, with the exceptions of high and intermediate level groups. It is worth improving children’s English vocabulary learning by using Augmented Reality in their daily lives in terms of mobile learning.

The article deals with the social nature of law and order. It is emphasized that a full and comprehensive study of this phenomenon is impossible outside of social relations. It is noted that any legal system inevitably faces a complex problem: it should meet, on the one hand, the requirements of stability, and on the other - the inevitability of changes. Law exists in the flow of social life; it is a tool guiding social development and change society. As a guide to behavior, it is formed on the basis of sociologically established and verified constant and variable factors of social reality. Law is constantly increasing the sphere of social influence; therefore, there are more requirements to legal regulation. However, law performs its function as a regulator of social relations, when it is performed in reality. The life of norms of law is not only and not so much in their presence, existence, as in the functioning, implementation. The purpose, effectiveness and efficiency of law lie in the movement of law from possibility to reality, in the implementation of legal requirements in the actual actions and deeds of people. In this regard, it is important not only to assert the unity of law and society, but also, respectively, the call for constant correction of written law in accordance with changes in the social structure.

The problem around which this study was constructed is the contemporary art and a person, who creates this art – an artist, and their authentic perception by the child. A modern vision of the child too often shows the artist in a distorted, incomplete or reduced way. This kind of children knowledge, based on the patterns and stereotypes, reduces the reflectivity of children, unnecessarily distorts their judgment and closes the road ahead to a full and critical participation in the world. The study is based on the analysis of interviews and children’s drawings centered around the perception of the profile of an artist by children. It results from the analysis of the research material gathered during the study that this is a stereotypical vision, and the artist is still associated with a person who remains beyond the reach of “normal” society. The conducted research shows the diversity of the types of meanings that children aged 5–7 attribute to the term “artist” and “artistry”. The naive ideas on this subject created by children prove to be a collection of beliefs of a partially common and often completely different nature. For a pedagogue, the ultimate purpose of the research is to obtain knowledge which will allow effective changes in education, in this case, in art education. The investigation of meanings which children attribute to concepts concerning the artistic phenomena may allow to create a strategy of transmission of knowledge of art history and to design the creative activities connected with the broadly-understood visual arts.

Prezentowane w mediach wizerunki polityczne są często przedstawiane w sposób stronniczy, nierzadko subiektywny, powodując tym samym przekłamanie rzeczywistości. W artykule dokonano analizy tekstów publicystycznych zamieszczonych w tygodniku opinii „Newsweek” w czasie trwania kampanii prezydenckiej w 2015 r. Celem badania było ukazanie prezentowanych medialnych obrazów polityków oraz wskazanie na ich charakter, przy założeniu stronniczości przekazu medialnego.
Politician media image is a very significant issue worth to analyze, especially when it comes to election campaign period. In mass media we can observe partial political images, more often subjective, which is responsible for mangling the reality. The paper contains an analysis of journalistic articles from weekly newspaper „Newsweek” during the presidential campaign in 2015. The main goal of this paper is to indicate media images of the candidates and show their main attributes, remembering of partial context of the media news.

Constructivist approach of analyzing international relations brought many new elements to the thought on the nature of international reality, which made it possible to explain it and understand it better. One of these elements in the process of analyzing this reality is the concept of identity of participants of international relations. Its analytical phenomenon consists of the fact that it allows us to undertake attempts to understand interests and character of norms and values of participants of international relations. The most important statement brought to scientific thought on international reality by Alexander Wendt’s notion of constructivism relates to the fact that states’ interests in international relations are not given a priori, but they are shaped during interactions with others. Not only is the role of inter-state actors who influence states’ interests in international relations underlined, but it also indicates the important role of other participants of international affairs in articulating national interests. From this perspective, the category of identity in international relations taken up by Constructivism takes account of the social, interactive nature of international reality making it possible to analyze its intangible part.
Konstruktywistyczna perspektywa analizowania relacji międzynarodowych wniosła wiele nowych elementów do refleksji nad naturą rzeczywistości międzynarodowej, pozwalając na jej lepsze rozumienie oraz wyjaśnianie. Jednym z takich elementów w procesie analizy tej rzeczywistości jest koncept tożsamości uczestnika relacji międzynarodowych. Jego fenomen analityczny polega na tym, iż pozwala on podejmować próby zrozumienia interesów oraz specyfiki norm i wartości, którymi kierują się uczestnicy relacji międzynarodowych. Najbardziej istotne twierdzenie, jakie wprowadza do naukowej refleksji o rzeczywistości międzynarodowej konstruktywizm w wariancie Aleksandra Wendta, odnosi się do faktu, iż interesy państw w relacjach międzynarodowych nie są z góry dane, ale kształtują się w toku interakcji z innymi. Podkreśla się tutaj zatem rolę nie tylko aktorów wewnątrzpaństwowych, którzy mają wpływ na kształtowe przez państwa interesy w relacjach międzynarodowych, ale także wskazuje się na istotną rolę pozostałych uczestników obrotu międzynarodowego w artykułowaniu interesów narodowych. Z tego punktu widzenia podejmowana przez konstruktywizm kategoria tożsamości w relacjach międzynarodowych uwzględnia społeczną, interaktywną naturę rzeczywistości międzynarodowej, pozwalając analizować jej niematerialną warstwę.

The axiological aspects of legal myth and mythological perception of reality were analyzed and it was found that several interrelated properties of the studied myth can be identified, which allow to assert the thesis about its own and instrumental value. In particular, the intrinsic (ontological) value of legal myth is manifested in the formation of a certain sign system, which is a reflection of legal reality in the minds of man (or society). Mythological perception of reality, in our opinion, is authorial, selective, to some extent biased. Instead, the instrumental value of legal myth is observed in the processes of human cognition of the world and legal reality, in the process of identification and self-identification of man. In particular, the legal myth is not just a means of knowing and identifying the phenomena of legal reality, but serves as a reliable apologist for the value and moral choice of man and his behavior, such a sign system that has a certain „indulgence” for any human action (inaction). The instrumental value of the legal myth is not limited to the framework of the epistemological process, the tasks of observation and cognition, but has a powerful potential for influence and transformation of legal reality. Awareness of this potential of the legal myth opens a wide space for its application in order to root in the legal consciousness of man and, ultimately, society as a whole, the relevant legal (or anti-legal) values. The principles of interaction of the legal myth and the modern state are determined. Any legal myth seeks to spread, social support, wider recognition, in the most ambitious end – official recognition and legitimacy, which is impossible without a strong state function. The legitimation of the legal myth occurs through its spread in society, receiving social support and rooting first in the legal consciousness of individuals, and gradually – in the public legal consciousness. It can be argued that legal myths permeate all levels of legal reality of the modern state, from legal consciousness (man and society), and ending with the processes of lawmaking, law enforcement, interpretation.
Проаналізовано аксіологічні аспекти правового міфу та міфологічного сприйняття дійсності та з’ясовано, що можна виявити кілька взаємопов’язаних властивостей досліджуваного міфу, що дають змогу стверджувати тезу про його власну та інструментальну цінність. Зокрема, власна (онтологічна) цінність правового міфу виявляється у формуванні певної знакової системи, яка є відображенням правової реальності в свідомості людини (або суспільства). Міфологічне сприйняття дійсності, на нашу думку, є авторським, вибірковим, певною мірою заангажованим. Натомість інструментальну цінність правового міфу спостерігаємо в процесах пізнання людиною світу та правової реальності, в ході ідентифікації та самоідентифікації людини. Зокрема, правовий міф виступає не просто засобом пізнання та ідентифікації явищ правової реальності, а слугує надійним апологетом ціннісно-морального вибору людини та її поведінки, такою знаковою системою, яка має характер певної «індульгенції» для будь-яких дій (бездіяльності) людини. Інструментальна цінність правового міфу не обмежується рамками гносеологічного процесу, завданнями спостереження та пізнання, а має потужний потенціал впливу і трансформації правової реальності. Усвідомлення зазначеного потенціалу правового міфу відкриває широкий простір для його застосування з метою вкорінення в правову свідомість людини та, зрештою, цілого суспільства, відповідних правових (або антиправових) цінностей. Визначено принципи взаємодії правового міфу та сучасної держави. Будь-який правовий міф потребує розповсюдження, соціальної підтримки, все більш широкого визнання, у найбільш амбітному підсумку – офіційного визнання та легітимації, що не можливо без потужного функціоналу держави. Легітимація правового міфу відбувається через його поширення в суспільстві, одержання соціальної підтримки та вкорінення спочатку в правову свідомість окремих індивідуумів, а поступово – в суспільну правову свідомість. Можна стверджувати, що правові міфи пронизують всі рівні правової реальності сучасної держави, починаючи з правової свідомості (людини та суспільства) і закінчуючи процесами правотворення, правозастосування, правотлумачення.

Opis:
An in-depth analysis presented in this article concludes that the views and socio-political activities of Wacław Komarnicki were aimed at reasserting the Polish national interest and realizing the idea of the state of law associated with the rule of law. The analysis is based on archival and printed sources and selected literature on the subject. It required the use of appropriate research methods. The biographical method, in conjunction with the content analysis method, proved to be most helpful. Among the research techniques, the analysis of testimonies of political thought proved to be particularly useful.
