Opis:
The aim of this study is to present the possibilities of using structured analytical techniques in building investigative versions. They may relate to ongoing criminal or operational proceedings, but also allow verification of versions created for the purposes of supervision or evaluation of other proceedings. In this area, the study complements and at the same time extends the existing knowledge in the field of forensic tactics. The author presented the current state of knowledge on the methods of building criminal versions and the theoretical justification for the introduction of these techniques to the practice of law enforcement agencies in this aspect. An outline of the methodology of the application of analytical techniques in the construction of new and verification of existing research methods is also presented. This study is based on the author’s speech at the 3rd National Scientific Conference entitled ‘Police X Files’ organised by the Faculty of Law and Administration University of Lodz from September 26th–28th, 2018.

Opis:
The specificity of crimes related to the coal mining industry means that the importance of an effective and efficient flow of information between coal companies and law enforcement agencies is often pivotal to achieving success in investigation and prosecution. In the case of these crimes, the risk of misunderstanding technical issues related to the particularities of the coal mining sector is a serious impediment to successfully addressing violations of criminal law. The paper critically analyses and evaluates the current forms of cooperation between the largest coal mining company in the European Union, i.e., Polska Grupa Górnicza S.A. and law enforcement agencies. The article stresses the importance of the internal control system in detecting criminal activity inside the company, emphasising that the indepth knowledge and resources held by the internal control entity are, in principle, highly valuable sources of information to law enforcement agencies, and may be practically utilised to optimise as well as accelerate investigative and evidence-gathering procedures. The paper concludes with a claim that a proactive and participative approach of both law enforcement agencies and private business establishments is indicated in their interactions and helps them to achieve common goals. The author presents good practices in the area under study, and discusses potential improvements.

Cracow school of forensic tactics

own judicial and prosecutorial research findings
Opis:
The aim of the article is to present the views of a classic forensic scientist prof. zw. dr hab. Tadeusz Hanausek, the founder of Cracow school of forensic science, who has shaped the Polish foundations of forensic tactics, which is currently one of the disciplines of forensic science. The presentation of professor Hanausek has been reflected in the implementation of his dogmatic point of view in the practice of law enforcement agencies and the justice system both during his life and after his death. Professor Tadeusz Hanausek determined the reasons for the initial underestimation of the role of forensic tactics despite the acceptance of this term, built a definition of forensic tactics and developed scientific research that allowed him to indicate a growing role of forensic tactics in the implementation of the functions of forensic science and the criminal procedure. The article presents the fundamental issues of Tadeusz Hanausek’s creative scientific interests, which he first defined and then consistently pursued and developed in his scientific and research activities. The pioneering scientific and research issues in question were passed on by professor Tadeusz Hanausek to the representatives of his Cracow school of forensic tactics and then developed, presented and widely discussed on the national, European and international forum. The subject matter of the article is also focused on the examples of practical application of the professor’s ideas in an effective detection of perpetrators of crime. In addition, the publication is based on the research findings of the judicial and prosecutorial records of one of the authors of this article, who is an active representative, popularizer and, above all, a continuator of professor Hanausek’s Cracow school of forensic tactics.
