    Postać Józefa, zaślubionego Bogurodzicy jest w tradycji prawosławnej dość słabo znana. Jednocześnie jest bardzo interesująca z liturgicznego punktu widzenia. Hymnografia dnia jego pamięci, a zwłaszcza królewskich godzin wigilii Bożego Narodzenia, porusza w sposób szczególny temat wątpliwości, jakie miał on w związku z brzemiennością Najświętszej Marii. Teksty liturgiczne poruszają także zagadnienie wieku Józefa, który określany jest przeważnie jako starzec.
    The figure of Joseph, married to the Mother of God, is relatively little known in the Orthodox tradition. At the same time, it is very interesting from a liturgical point of view. The hymnography of the day of his remembrance, and especially of the Royal Hours of Christmas Eve, deals in a special way with the question of the doubts he had in connection with the pregnancy of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The liturgical texts also deal with the question of the age of Joseph, who is usually defined as an elder.

    Opis:
    On Good Friday matins, after singing the antiphons and before reading the canon, the verses of the Gospel blessings are read, which in liturgical practice begin with the words of the good thief: “Remember me, o Lord, in Your Kingdom”. The phrase of the thief hanging on the Cross sounds special on Good Friday – it is the day on which these words were spoken originally. Special troparions are added to the verses of the blessings, which talk about various aspects of Christ’s passion, mainly through the prism of the thief’s repentance. In the paper, the texts are analyzed taking into account the Greek original and selected translations.
    Na jutrzni Wielkiego Piątku po śpiewie antyfon, a przed czytaniem kanonu, rozbrzmiewają wersety ewangelicznych błogosławieństw, które w praktyce liturgicznej rozpoczynają się słowami rozsądnego łotra „Remember me, o Lord, in Your Kingdom”. Zwrot łotra wiszącego na krzyżu brzmi w Wielki Piątek wyjątkowo – to dzień, w którym te słowa zostały wypowiedziane oryginalnie. Do wersetów błogosławieństw dodaje się specjalne tropariony mówiące o różnych aspektach męki Chrystusa, głównie przez pryzmat skruchy łotra. W artykule dokonano analizy tekstów z uwzględnieniem greckiego oryginału i wybranych tłumaczeń.

    The role of the liturgical text is far more complex than we think. It’s not only an inspiration for our petitions or thanksgiving, but also source of knowledge and spiritual education. Subject of this paper is to show characteristic of St Cyril and Methodius on the basis of the liturgical texts. In the minds of the faithful, their mission and activities are consistent and comprehensive, but liturgical texts devoted to the Holy Brothers show two ways how they followed in order to achieve their main goal – to spread Christianity and lead catechetical mission. St Cyril and Methodius had realized their mission on different paths, focusing on different priorities. The activity of St Methodius can be defined as the ascetic way, a sensitization to the spiritual richness of Orthodoxy. Referring to the liturgical texts the mission of St Cyril can be characterized as an educational, polemical and apologetic activity. Compliance of the liturgical texts with the life of St Cyril and Methodius and preservation of the historical resources, allows us to treat them as a valuable source of knowledge. This confirms the assertions about the nature the liturgical texts, which are an inherent aspect of the Holy Tradition of the Orthodox Church.

    Zaśnięcie Bogurodzicy to jedno z najbardziej uroczyście obchodzonych świąt w prawosławnym roku liturgicznym. Ma bogatą hymnografię, w tym dodatkowy obrzęd Pogrzebu Bogurodzicy. Teksty święta są w dużej mierze inspirowane hymnografią Wielkiego Tygodnia, a zwłaszcza Wielkiej Soboty. Niniejszy artykuł prezentuje na przykładzie święta Zaśnięcia Bogurodzicy ogólne zjawisko intertekstualności w hymnografii. Wzajemne przenikanie się tekstologiczne hymnów pojawia się bowiem w kontekście wielu świąt i wielu świętych.
    Dormition of the Mother of God is one of the most solemnly celebrated feasts in the Orthodox liturgical year. It has a rich hymnography, including an additional rite of the Funeral of the Mother of God. The texts of the feast are largely inspired by the hymnography of the Holy Week, and especially Holy Saturday. This paper presents, on the example of the feast of the Dormition, a general phenomenon of intertextuality in hymnography. Mutual interpenetration of hymns appears in the context of many feasts and many saints.
