Opis:
The given article presents the analysis of linguistic means used to express the conceptual sphere “Prospectiveness” in both Russian and English languages. The concepts under investigation are: imagination, anticipation, prediction, foreseeing. Great attention in the article is paid to imagination which is a key concept in the conceptual sphere “Prospectiveness”. Concept Imagination is analysed in both English and Russian linguistic world pictures, but a great value is given to its functionary in the English language from the scientific point of view and from the point of view of common sense which is represented in the “naive” linguistic world picture. A great body of English contexts is presented in the article to illustrate the usage of these abstract concepts as well as their definition in Russian and English dictionaries.

Opis:
The article reveals the actual problem of understanding and reception of the translation of a literary work in the context of Belarusian-Russian bilingualism with the dominant use of the Russian language. Although the translation in a bilingual context often helps readers to understand better, it can also hinder the reception when bilingual readers comparing both texts are not satisfied with translation. It is not possible to establish general limitations on account of the variability of both understanding and subsequent creation of the work which is by nature subjective and ambiguous. Not only should translators have a thorough knowledge of the language of the original work but they also are expected to know social-cultural conditions of the society for whom they translate.

Celem pierwszej części artykułu jest rekonstrukcja koncepcji domu z wykorzystaniem badania ankietowego. Wyróżniono podstawowe znaczenia znaku językowego – budowanie, mieszkanie, rodzina i ojczyzna, którego znaczenie komplikuje się w związku z przytaczaniem takich skojarzeń jak bezpieczna i wąska przestrzeń, ciepło, spokój, swojskość. W procesie konceptualizacji domu istotniejszym od materialnego budowania okazuje się jego znaczenie symboliczne jako miejsca stworzonego przez rodzinę. Analiza pozwala wysnuć wniosek, że dom jest wartością niezmienną dla wielu młodych Białorusinów. W drugiej części artykułu omówiono indywidualną konceptualizację domu Andrusia Horwata w aspektach statycznym i dynamicznym.
The aim of the first part of the article is to reconstruct the concept of home by means of a questionnaire. The basic conceptualizations of home include building, family and homeland. They become less straightforward by the connotations of protected, narrow, warm, quiet, private space. The symbolic value of home as a place created by a family is more important than the conceptualization of home as a building. The analysis shows that home remains crucial value for most young Belarusians. The individual conceptualization of Andrus Ghorvat in the static and dynamic aspects is discussed in the second part of the article.

Mowa inauguracyjna to stosunkowo nowy dla Rosji, ale bardzo ważny gatunek należący do dyskursu politycznego. Niniejsza praca poświęcona jest analizie konceptu „Prezydent” w mowach inauguracyjnych W.W. Putina (2000 r., 2004 r., 2012 r.). Autor przedstawia sposoby realizacji danego konceptu: bezpośrednie (użycie rzeczownika „Prezydent”, zaimka „ja”, związku wyrazowego „głowa państwa”) i pośrednie (stworzenie w wystąpieniach obrazu silnego lidera, który jest w stanie stanąć na czele państwa).
Inaugural speach is a relatively new for Russia, but a very important genre of political discourse. This work is devoted to analysis of concept „President” in inaugural speaches of V.V. Putin (2000, 2004, 2012). The author presents ways of realisation of this concept: direct (usage of noun „President”, pronoun „I”, word combination „head of state”) and indirect (creating in speaches the image of strong leader who is able to to stand at the head of the state).

Opis:
Viktar Martsinovich’s novels reveal the aesthetic searches conducted in modern Belarusian literature. In the work “Sphagnum” the classical form of the social novel is originally reproduced, where various representatives of the society are convincingly shown in colorful images-types. The novels “Lake of Joy” and “Revolution” reveal first of all the psychological reflection of main characters, who act as symbolic incarnations of the spiritual aspirations of our time. Novels with assessments of psychological anti-utopia “Language” and “Night” represent the author’s prediction of the loss of national identity and spiritual literary tradition.

The Old Believer’s in Poland live in three regions: Augustów, Suwałki and the Mazurian Lakeside. In one of them (the Augustow region) there are people, who have developed their own system of transcription of the Russian dialect to create their memorable texts. Nowadays it is the only literature in the Old Believers’ community. This specific kind of poetry is a very important source of knowledge about history, culture and traditions minority group. Because of the specific self-made system of transcripion and themes related to the local community, the poems uniqe. Moreover, they are also interesting because of their thematic diversity, containing many popular folk topics. One of them is the theme of youth. The concept of “youth” evokes many associations among the representatives of the older generation. The local poets writing about the past rely on their own observations and present only its positive aspects.

Attention is paid to the author’s original interpretation of the conception and the inheritance of literary tradition, especially to Pushkin and Blok.

The Christian spiritual life, the essence of which is holiness, needs an example that sheds clear light on the path of love for God and neighbor. In her teachings, Bl. Bolesława Lament indicates that the example of the Holy Family of Nazareth’s life is especially helpful in for man’s spiritual development. The Holy Family’s example can help shape the spiritual life of believers according to the Incarnation. The essence of the Holy Family’s example is its deep focus on the mystery of Incarnation and, thus, union with Christ, the Incarnate Word. Moreover, the hidden life of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph provides a solid foundation on which apostolic life can take on form.
