The present paper involves a textlinguistic‑codicological analysis and attempts to identify the specific features of the Polish administrative language in the entries of the 19th c. parish register from the town of Busko‑Zdrój. The aim of the study is to answer the question as to whether the examined annotations can be regarded as a pattern of a parish register record, and henceforth as a text type. The author investigates the structure and characteristics of different register entries, with research field determined by the general structure and functionfunction of parish register records and annotations of these records.

Opis:
The give article is devoted to the study of the peculiarities of intertexual relations and the specificity of their functioning in the publicistic text by Andrey Bitov. Intertextuality is a basic category of text in postmodernism where the ways of including fragments from other texts, culture realia, historical event are determined by author’s strategy. Any text often appears as a response to already existing works, as a feedback to it in the dialogue between the texts, includes and transforms a ”new word” acquiring at that semantic multiplicity. Intertextual elements allow not only to identify the author’s idiostyle, but also to study the processes of cross-level relations themselves, to reveal mental units and precedent texts existing in linguistic cognition and objectivized in the language.

Opis:
The article is an attempt at answering the question about the function of metaphors and their formal-semantic shape mainly in poetic and scientific texts. The comparative analysis being carried out proves that metaphorical conjunctions occur in both variants of utterances but their stylistic function, frequency and a degree of conventionalization are of a different character. Innovative and strongly individualized metaphors are characteristic of poetry whereas for the language of science – mainly metaphors considerably standardized based on system models and structures whose genetic innovativeness we are no longer aware of; rarely innovative metaphors. Therefore it seems unauthorized to treat metaphors as universal linguistic labels typical of each kind of utterance unless we understand such universality in a slightly narrower sense, i.e., as “useful, usable, suitable, helpful”.

The significant differences in content, composition and word design in description of The Trinity revelation to St Alexander Svirsky can be established, firstly, according to the role, which the hagiographer was ascribing to the particular fact from the life of The Saint Monk, secondly, according to the miracles functions as a component of the general text of the appropriate hagiography and, thirdly, according to the hagiography stylistics as a whole.
Istotne różnice w treści, kompozycji i słownej oprawie cudu dotyczącego objawienia się Świętej Trójcy św. Aleksandrowi Świrskiemu, określić można zarówno na podstawie roli, jaką hagiograf przypisywał danemu faktowi z życia Świętego Mnicha, funkcji cudu, jako komponentu całego tekstu danego żywota, jak i stylistyki tego żywota w całości.

The article reveals the actual problem of understanding and reception of the translation of a literary work in the context of Belarusian-Russian bilingualism with the dominant use of the Russian language. Although the translation in a bilingual context often helps readers to understand better, it can also hinder the reception when bilingual readers comparing both texts are not satisfied with translation. It is not possible to establish general limitations on account of the variability of both understanding and subsequent creation of the work which is by nature subjective and ambiguous. Not only should translators have a thorough knowledge of the language of the original work but they also are expected to know social-cultural conditions of the society for whom they translate.

The paper discusses literary forms of extension and transformation of the space of art works in the selected texts by Jakub Kornhauser. In the first mode, the spatial system of the painting is integrated with the real space, which is immediate to the subject, allowing the conceptualization of the subject’s experience. In the second mode the subject presents either a continuation or the story that precedes the plot featured in the work of art. The story narrated is subjected to the realities of the visual paradigm. It completes what remains unseen in the painting. The author asserts that it is this way of representing space that may determine the apocryphal component in the ekphrastic text.

Celem badania było uzasadnienie sensowności włączenia tekstów humorystycznych do materiałów edukacyjnych z języka ukraińskiego i wypracowanie metodycznie poprawnego systemu pracy z ich wykorzystaniem. Do realizacji rozmaitych celów badawczych zastosowano różnorodne metody: techniki obserwacyjne, pozwalające wyjaśnić reakcje obcojęzycznych studentów na żarty pojawiające się podczas nauki, eksperyment hipotetyczno-indukcyjny, służący określeniu potencjału dydaktycznego i lingwokulturologicznego proponowanych tekstów oraz eksperyment metodyczny, dający możliwość udowodnienia skuteczności dydaktycznej tekstów humorystycznych. Wyniki badania potwierdzają, że twórcza praca z krótkimi tekstami humorystycznymi zachęci studentów do aktywności, zmotywuje ich do komunikacji w języku ukraińskim i pozytywnie wpłynie na stopień ukształtowania kompetencji komunikacyjnych.
The goal of the research is to explain the reasonability of including humorous texts in study materials for the Ukrainian language, and to work out a methodically correct systemof using them with a foreign audience. Observational methods were used to find out how foreign students react to jokes during the study process, hypothetical and inductive experiment – to define the didactic and linguocultural potential of proposed texts and methodic experiment – to prove the educational efficiency of humorous texts. The research results confirm that creative work with short humorous texts will stimulate students to work actively in the classroom, motivate them to communicate in Ukrainian, and positively influence the level of communication proficiency.

W niniejszym artykule przedstawiono ujęcie tytułu filmowego jako krótkiego tekstu. Na początku omówiono różne definicje tytułu filmowego, a następnie pojęcie tekstu, uwzględniając przy tym cechy, które warunkują, że pewien ciąg jednostek językowych można uznać za tekst. Następnie przedstawiono dyskusję nad statusem tytułu filmowego jako krótkiego tekstu, w ramach której sprawdzano, czy i w jakim stopniu tytuły filmowe spełniają poszczególne kryteria tekstowości. Uwzględniono przy tym aspekty zarówno formalne, jak i semantyczne oraz pragmatyczne.
This paper presents a study concerning the status of film titles as short texts. First, the definitions of film titles and texts are presented, and comments are made. In the next step, the status of film titles as short texts is discussed regarding the textuality criteria whereby selected German-language titles of series are presented and commented on. The aim of this paper is to find out whether and to what extent the selected titles fulfil the criteria, and thus if they can be regarded as short texts.

The role of the liturgical text is far more complex than we think. It’s not only an inspiration for our petitions or thanksgiving, but also source of knowledge and spiritual education. Subject of this paper is to show characteristic of St Cyril and Methodius on the basis of the liturgical texts. In the minds of the faithful, their mission and activities are consistent and comprehensive, but liturgical texts devoted to the Holy Brothers show two ways how they followed in order to achieve their main goal – to spread Christianity and lead catechetical mission. St Cyril and Methodius had realized their mission on different paths, focusing on different priorities. The activity of St Methodius can be defined as the ascetic way, a sensitization to the spiritual richness of Orthodoxy. Referring to the liturgical texts the mission of St Cyril can be characterized as an educational, polemical and apologetic activity. Compliance of the liturgical texts with the life of St Cyril and Methodius and preservation of the historical resources, allows us to treat them as a valuable source of knowledge. This confirms the assertions about the nature the liturgical texts, which are an inherent aspect of the Holy Tradition of the Orthodox Church.

Artykuł jest próbą rozpoznania możliwości przełożenia dzieła literackiego na mapę. Zarówno literatura, jak i kartografia są narracjami o rzeczywistości, obie można też traktować jako systemy modelujące (w sensie semiotycznym). Skrzyżowanie tych dwóch perspektyw rodzi wiele pytań, dotyczących m.in. relacji między słowem i obrazem, rzeczywistością i fikcją, przestrzenią i tekstem. Literatura jest dyscypliną artystyczną, natomiast kartografia – naukową. Dlatego harmonizowanie tych dwóch heterogenicznych narracji – powstałych z zupełnie innych powodów – przynosi owocne wnioski w dziedzinie kartografii literackiej, a także prowadzi do stworzenia wspólnych roboczych ram metodologicznych.
This essay deals with the possibility of translating a literary work into a map. Both literature and cartography are narratives about reality, both can also be treated as modeling systems (in a semiotic sense). The intersection of these two perspectives raises many questions, regarding, i.a. relations between word and image, reality and fiction, space and text. Literature is an artistic discipline, whereas cartography is a scientific one. Therefore, the attempt to harmonize the two heterogeneous narratives – created for completely different reasons – brings fruitful conclusions in the field of literary cartography and also leads to the creation of a common initial methodological framework.

The article deals with the relationship between emotions and inspiration with artistic fantasy, and also determines its impact on the process of the birth of poetic work. The spiritual essence of emotions is an important constant in the author’s artistic world. The relationship between emotions and sensual – spiritual spheres of a person’s life is defined. The connection between emotions and cognition, motivation of activity, transcendence is proved. The specificity of revealing emotions in the poetic works of Jan Czykwin and Halina Twaranowicz, ways of disclosing the spiritual essence of emotions in their poems are analyzed. The researcher comes to the conclusion that an author’s emotional sphere in the emergence of a creative idea and its realization in an artistic text play an important role.
W artykule omówiono związki między emocjami a natchnieniem i artystyczną fantazją. Wskazano także na ich wpływ na proces powstawania utworu. Duchowa istota emocji jest ważną stałą w artystycznym świecie autora. Omówiono także relacje między emocjami a uczuciową i duchową sferą życia ludzkiego, oraz związek emocji z poznaniem, motywacją i transcendencją. Przeprowadzono analizę specyfiki ukazywania emocji w utworach J. Czykwina i H. Twaranowicz. Autor artykułu formułuje wniosek, że sfera emocjonalna w pojawieniu się twórczej myśli i jej wyrażenie w tekście pełnią ważną rolę.
