Opis:: The teaching profession, including the language teaching profession, requires that teachers should constantly enhance their professional competences. Among those competences, the creative ones occupy a fixed position. In this paper, I am going to consider the possibility of optimizing their development by the use of coaching. In spite of controversies aroused by this work method, it can offer a signifi cant support in developing the creative competences of French language teachers.

Opis:: Professional qualifications are classified legally and are the same cross the professional spectrum. What factor determines teachers’ didactic, educational and professional aspirations and self-evaluation? Who/what determines that the teacher becomes an (anti)authority for his/her students, can instill their passion for learning or discourage them? When are a teacher’s education and qualifications of less importance than his/her competences? There are teachers for whom work is only an obligation, a duty towards the school, and education is the obligation of a student. They are teachers working with children only because it is their legal duty. But there are also teachers who teach students how to learn, instilling in them educational freedom. These are guide-teachers who reveal their students’ horizons, teaching them to choose a new knowledge that is supposed to give them satisfaction, emotional joy and practical benefits.

Opis:: The paper describes the assumptions of modern methods of teaching foreign languages, and this description includes the proposals of their creators regarding the knowledge that the student must acquire and the competences that he/she is to form. The results of the test checking sociocultural knowledge and sociolinguistic competences of Russian Studies students is also discussed. The low global result of the test (57% of correct answers) showed a poor record of students in terms of the examined issues. Knowledge about Russia is very superficial among the study participants. They are also not good in dealing with contacts on the level of official relations (formal records of statements).

Opis:: This article reveals the educational change in Finland in the context of multiliteracy. Multiliteracy is one of the seven transversal competences introduced by the Finnish basic education curriculum reform between the years 2012 and 2016. School multiliteracy is developed through cross-subject studies with the usage of particular language. There are involved various texts during teaching to prepare well-educated global citizens who are able to to overcome obstacles of the contemporary world and to follow the global changes in a job market. Multiliteracy helps prepare a global citizen with the skills of global lingua franca.
