Opis:
Poles settled in present-day Romania in the fourteenth century. A subsequent influx of Polish settlers followed the fall of the Kościuszko Uprising. The aim of this study is to present the history of education in the Polish minority in Romania. The work focuses on showing various forms of educational and upbringing institutions from the early 19th century to 1939. In the analyzed period, the Poles organized mainly kindergartens and comprehensive primary and secondary schools in Bukowina (now northern Romania). They also made attempts at introducing the Polish language to teachers’ training institutions i.e. teachers’ training colleges for men and women. They established their own socio-educational societies and built Polish Houses in which they pursued a wide range of educational and cultural activities. In the Kingdom of Romania, Polish children could also attend (under certain conditions) Polish language classes in Romanian state schools. Owing to the Polish Schools in Romania, followed by the Polish School Association in Romania, Polish private education assumed various forms.

The article begins by introducing the beginnings of schooling in the Teschen Silesia region. It thencontinues to map the situation after the introduction of compulsory education. The development of schools and the network of schooling institutions are covered, as well as school curricula and the position and competence of teachers in the 17th to 19th centuries. Physical didactic aids of this period are examined, especially textbooks. Finally, the article deals with the issues connected with Germanisation and the national struggle nd awareness of the Polish population in the eschen Silesia region; with the impact of Hasner’s law (Leopold Hasner von Artha) on the development of he national school system in the region; with important figures and organisations that played a ignificant role in the political, cultural and economic changes in society in Teschen Silesia.

During the coronavirus pandemic, health promotion became crucial for preventing COVID-19 disease and mitigating its consequences. Implementing health promotion principles was particularly essential in educational settings, where the possibility of infection was high. Simultaneously, only limited empirical studies have addressed school principals’ perspectives on implementing health promotion issues during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, this study aims to examine the differences in implementing health promotion principles in schools during the COVID-19 pandemic. The results come from an online cross-sectional survey conducted in eight provinces of Poland from June to December 2021. The study was part of a global school principal health literacy survey under the COVID-HL Network. Research results have shown that schools in the Health Promoting Schools network tend to implement the whole-school approach to health more often. In addition, the longer the school belongs to the network, the more health promotion activities are implemented. It can be assumed that school principals play a crucial role in implementing health promotion principles in schools. Therefore, their health awareness and interest in health matters are essential for effectively promoting health in schools.

Opis:
The closer we get to our times, the more often school reforms take place in different countries. They are an attempt to respond to deep social changes. However, in most cases, these reforms are not veryeffective. The author gives examples of failed Polish educational reforms of the last half-century. It is noted that there was a large gap between the façade proclamations of the benefits that the announcedreforms were supposed to bring and their real effects. Therefore, the author puts forward a thesis that too often reformers play a confidence game and in fact the announced change in education means nochange in practice. Meanwhile, real, profound school reforms are essential, as society and the economy will increasingly need graduates educated to meet the needs of the 21 st century. They are supposed to be people who think critically, are creative, have high communication skills, and are focused on cooperation with others. For the preparation of such graduates to be possible, there needs to be a radical change in the concept of the school and in the way teachers work.

Opis:
The author considers in the paper three animated etudes made by Grzegorz Wacławek in Film School in Łódź. Films entitled Gleam, Scrap and Lost share many common features: creation of the hero’s outer world, extensive use of symbolism and condensation of events centered around one or two heroes. Particularly interesting mean used by Wacławek in endings of the films is the transformation of the presented world that can be named a scale change. Also on this basis director’s animations are metaphorically interpreted, showing their existential meaning, close to the tradition of Polish Animation School.

Films of Polish Film School, the most significant formation in post-war history of Polish cinema, appeared in Czechoslovakia with several years of delay. Power feared that their message will be dangerous for spectators. Meanwhile – for viewers they remain unknown or difficult to understand and only a few critics and fi lm historians could read them in accordance with the intentions of the directors Andrzej Munk and Andrzej Wajda, being the main representatives of the stream.

The text describes the backstage of the legendary International Experimental Film Competition in Brussels, which accompanied the Expo-58 Exhibition at a turning point of the political thaw in Eastern and Central Europe. The most important representatives of avant-garde cinema and auteur animation of three generations took part in this event. The Grand Prix was awarded to The House of Walerian Borowczyk and Jan Lenica. The prize became the ticket to a European career for these two young filmmakers. The competition was also remembered as a symbolic beginning of the “Polish school of animation” (or the so-called “Polish school of experimental film”) on the global film market. The author of the article also writes about a difficult return to Poland, about a cash prize that caused many problems, about the successes of Polish films in Brussels, and about the reception of The House in Poland and abroad. Finally, he tries to demonstrate why this bleak and difficult to understand film, which builds opposition to the optimism of Expo Exhibitions, won the main prize, beating over 300 competitors from around the world.

The activities of Polish community schools are significant and rich in various initiatives promoting broadly understood Polishness. This is an area that has yet to be explored empirically. There are few scientific studies dealing with the functioning of Polish community schools in specific countries, describing the difficulties and challenges teachers are coping with while characterizing their potential and possibilities. Polish community education has evolved over the last few years. As a result of social and cultural changes, and the dynamics of migration processes, it must re-profile itself and start meeting the needs of children, both those who speak Polish and those who do not know Polish at all, and the implementation of this task belongs to Polish community teachers in Italy.

Opis:
Twórczość edukacyjna nauczyciela należy do podstawowych kategorii badawczych we współ- czesnej pedeutologii. Zagadnienie to analizowane jest w powiązaniu z aktywnością dydaktyczną    i wychowawczą w szkole. Wśród różnych powinności współczesnego nauczyciela wymienia się twórczość w myśleniu i działaniu. Powinność ta odnosi się również do nauczyciela wychowania  do życia w rodzinie. Jej realizacja wymaga innowacyjności oraz umiejętności wielostronnego sty- mulowania uczniów do aktywnego udziału procesie nauczania i wychowaniu w polskiej szkole. Twórczość edukacyjna nauczyciela wychowania do życia w rodzinie wymaga bowiem umiejętno- ści przekraczania zastanych reguł postępowania dydaktycznego i wychowawczego oraz tworzenia - na bazie dotychczasowej wiedzy i doświadczenia - nowych rozwiązań edukacyjnych. Istotna jest też zdolność do osobistego namysłu (refleksyjności przed, nad i w trakcie działania) oraz umiejęt- ność podejmowania decyzji, samodzielnego rozstrzyganiu problemów praktycznych, modyfikowa- nia własnych sposobów aktywności zawodowej i działania naznaczonego oryginalnością. Wyżej wymienione właściwości znajdują wyraz w aktywności zawodowej nauczyciela wycho- wania do życia w rodzinie, ukonkretnionej w przekazie wiedzy na temat wielorakich aspektów małżeństwa i rodziny, ludzkiej seksualności, kontaktów interpersonalnych i rozwoju osobowego oraz współczesnych zagrożeń w zakresie życia indywidualnego i społecznego. Nauczyciel wycho- wania do życia w rodzinie ma wspomagać uczniów w kształtowaniu postaw społecznych i moral- nych. Skuteczność jego działalności edukacyjnej jest warunkowana m.in. osobowością nauczyciela wychowania do życia w rodzinie (w tym postawami, wartościami, światopoglądem), samodzielno- ścią w myśleniu i działaniu oraz troską o integralny rozwój uczniów. Za priorytetowe uznaje się  też podmiotowe traktowanie wychowanków, tworzenie atmosfery zaufania i dialogu, stymulowa- nie uczestników zajęć do samodzielności w rozwiązywaniu problemów oraz rozwijanie umiejętno- ści wartościowania w zakresie życia indywidualnego, rodzinnego i społecznego.

The article deals with the relationship between film and painting, as well as the sciences (physics, cosmology) of the 20th century. It introduces the historical context important for the time when Kubrick’s film was made, and addresses the issue of abstraction in cinema, contemporary painting and cosmology, confronting artistic and scientific ideas (the models of the Universe). The starting point for the detailed analysis was “autonomous abstract film” (Alicja Helman), which as a film inside a film combines various cinematic types and genres. The analysis of takes and sequences of this film inside a film made it possible to decipher the director’s idea, which is expressed in intra-film references. The particular results of the research were compared with the possible iconographic context (Gerhard Richter). The inclusion of a diagnosis obtained on the basis of materials examined in the Kubrick Archives in London (Kamil Kościelski), and references to cultural tradition (Plato), supplement the aforementioned considerations in an important way.

The text is devoted to discussing the formation methods and the functions of screen space in shots by Mieczysław Jahoda in the films Zimowy zmierzch (directed by S. Lenartowicz) and Pętla (directed by W.J. Has). Mieczysław Jahoda is presented as one of the main initiators of stylistic changes in the films of Polish School in the mid 1950s. The analysis concerns the camera means applied by Jahoda in order to obtain screen effects: light, frame composition, photographic optics and perspective transformation. The film shots by Mieczysław Jahoda are characterized by an exceptional ability to evoke mental space, emotions, memory and imagination via the shapes of screen space. Their feature is a special esthetization aimed at creating the atmosphere of films, as well as symbolic and cultural references.

Opis:
Głównym celem artykułu jest ukazanie sensowności korelacji lekcji religii z etyką. Pamiętając o tym, że obecnie lekcje etyki w polskiej szkole nie są obligatoryjne, lecz mają charakter zajęć fakultatywnych, wiele uwagi poświęcono potrzebie prowadzenia jej w szkole. Wskazano też na znaczenie lekcji etyki w kształceniu ogólnym każdego ucznia. Zwrócono uwagę na to, że lekcje etyki są źródłem wiedzy o wartościach, normach moralnych, zasadach życia społecznego i indywidualnego oraz odpowiednim miejscem kształtowania postaw społecznych i całościowych oddziaływań w sferze rozwoju osobowego każdego ucznia. W tych oddziaływaniach dydaktycznych i wychowawczych za ważne uznano uniwersalne wartości. Na tle nie tylko teoretycznego, lecz również praktycznego i wychowawczego charakteru lekcji etyki, ukazano sens korelacji lekcji religii z etyką. Tym samym wykazano bezsens obecnej sytuacji, w której uczniowie mogą nie uczestniczyć zarówno w lekcji religii, jak i w etyce. Postulowano potrzebę wprowadzenia obowiązkowych lekcji etyki w polskiej szkole. W końcowej części omówiono wyzwania w zakresie korelacji lekcji religii z etyką.
The main purpose of the article is to present the logic of a correlation between religious education classes and ethics classes. Keeping in mind that at present ethics classes are not compulsory but rather optional, it is argued that those classes should become obligatory for students at schools. Firstly, as a reminder, the present status of ethics classes in Polish schools is discussed. The importance of ethics classes for the personal development of each student is indicated as well. It is pointed out that ethics classes are a signifi cant source of knowledge about life values, moral norms, basic rules of life in the community, personal principles, as well as an important place to learn the principles of the society and a holistic approach to personal growth and development of each individual student. In these educational and didactical means of infl uence the most universal values are deemed very important. With the theoretical, practical and educational character of  these classes as the background, the logic of correlation between religious education classes and ethics classes is presented. The need to make ethics classes compulsory in Polish schools is insisted on. Finally, the challenges in the correlation between religious education classes and ethics classes are discussed.

Artykuł stanowi próbę ponownego przyjrzenia się trzem pierwszym filmom Andrzeja Wajdy: Pokoleniu, Kanałowi oraz Popiołowi i diamentowi uwzględniając dokumenty archiwalne i materię produkcyjną w większym stopniu niż czynniki ściśle artystyczne i autorskie. Inspiracją są badania kultury produkcji oraz poetyka kulturowa Stephena Greenblatta. W efekcie tekst pokazuje jak wiele czynników pobocznych odgrywało decydującą rolę dla powstania danych tytułów oraz w jak wielkim stopniu filmy te były powiązane z ówczesnymi walkami o dominację kulturową. Tekst pokazuje w ten sposób wizję swoistego rozproszonego autorstwa, o mniejszym stopniu reżyserskiej kontroli względem powstającego dzieła, w również jego recepcji.
The article is an attempt to examining again the three first movies of Andrzej Wajda: Generation, Canal and Diamonds and Ashes, regarding archival protocols and production issues more then strict artistic or auteur factors. The inspiration was both production culture perspective and New Historicism of Stephen Greenblatt. The text shows how many additional factors played decisive role in realising those classical movies and how much the movies were connected with plays for cultural power and dominance in those historical reality. In effect we can observe specific kind of dispersive authorship in which film authors hasn’t full control on the final effects of the movie, for example its social impact and audience reception.
