methodological reflections on acting (performing)
Opis:
These reflections concern film acting, or to be more exact, the canonical three-stage research scenario, i.e. description, analysis and interpretation. They require a methodological interdisciplinary confluence of multiple strands, beyond the confines of a monolithic methodology. At a certain stage of the methodological reflections on acting (performing) there emerged a tendency to employ various disciplines. I would like to call it “the general theory of the actor and acting” or “the theory of performing”. The theory of performing, in fact, brings together such realms as anthropology, semiotics, phenomenology, aesthetics, the theory of literature, the psychology of perception of on-stage and on-screen representations, and, in a narrower sense, also studies on facial expression, diction and prosody, gesture and kinesics. However, in the most rudimentary sense it does consider the fundamental role of the actor and acting to be the focal point of discussion - the question of the very performance.Does the theory of performing explore the phenomenon of film acting (performing), and if so, to what degree is it the case? Two reference points for this issue seem to emerge. The first concerns the very choice of the object for analysis, involving such dimensions as relational networks of multiple actions regarding the actor and the process of acting, resulting in the creation of the character in a given film. The other, directly related to the first, concerns the very point of departure in the exploratory research process. How does the profile of the actor emerge due to such procedures as camera-work, montage, dubbing or motion control? It seems that what should be at the very centre of attention of the general theory of actor and acting is the actor-as-a-real-person, the interpreter of his own role-play, and also the subject of the actions involving the constructive process of a given film role, which results in the final on-stage/on-screen effect. We ought to pose the question of whether or not he is merely an acting element inhabiting the situation of the shooting within the confines of the camera-work. The theory of performing is not so much focused on the actor as an analog of a real human being (the fact that should be considered positively), but is focused on the actual acting process, the process of performing, first and foremost, the autonomous performer. Hence, another question arises: who is the character in the on-screen mode of existence? What is his real identity? The general theory of the actor and acting strives to answer this question from multiple viewpoints, from the viewpoints of anthropology, structuralism, deconstruction theory, as well as in terms of the most promising approaches (in my opinion), namely the cognitive and phenomenological stances. Here the floor is open for discussion.

The paper consists of series of suggestions and historical references on the basis of which it would become possible to think and practice „spectator pedagogy” in performing arts. Contemporary performance practices can claim for new kind of political relevance by focusing on the way spectator´s corporeal experience changes during and through theatrical situation. Naive body produced by a performance is also most susceptible for thoroughgoing political and ecological change. This is the first outline by its author on this topic.

Opis:
This article is an analysis of legal admissibility of performing the office of a village administrator by a catholic priest. Despite the fact that this theme has already been a subject of doctrine’s interest, this study distinguish itself from other studies because it is based on a case that took place in practice. That means, obviously, a choice of the Archbishop Sławoj Leszek Głódź for a village administrator of Piaski. Considerations are conducted from three perspectives – commonly applicable law, The Concordat itself and the canonic law. Comparative legal perspective provides a citation of relevant regulations existing in chosen countries. There are also introduced regulations referring to the status of a village administrator in Polish legal order. Conducted considerations allow to conclude that in spite of the fact that Polish commonly applicable law and the Concordat itself strongly emphasize the principle of autonomy and mutual independence of the state and churches and other religious unions, they do not provide for a prohibition of taking over public offices by priests. This case is differently regulated by the Code of Canon Law which directly forbids priests to execute offices connected with performing of public authority. Such offices should involve office of a village administrator, what determines the inadmissibility of performing the office of village administrator by catholic priest.

The paper aims to answer the question – to what extent is the current reflection on user experience design in performing arts still valid? The text discusses the concept of post-digital performance (Causey); and the phenomenon of user experience design in the face of new media dramaturgy (Eckersall, Grehan, Scheer). From the perspective of these concepts and phenomena, I describe two works (To Like or Not to Like by Interrobang and Karen by Blast Theory). The text complements the discussion on performance artists’ approaches to media technologies. In this paper, I describe the changes in designing the relationships of performers and users (individualization and personalization) and the contexts of everyday media practices in artists’ strategies.

Images performed by words in Howard Jacobson’s novel “Kalooki Nights”. Remarks about intersemiotic relations among words and picturesThe article titled Images performed by words in Howard Jacobson’n novel Kalooki Nights. Remarks about intersemiotic relations among words and pictures concerns the intersemiotic tensions among words and pictures. The theoretical model is supported by the interpretation of Howard Jacobson’s novel titled Kalooki Nights. This novel redefines the limits of representation and reception of the Holocaust in the context of identity and contemporary world. Exploring the forms of “reading” (“looking at”) of the linguistic codes as the visual codes, such terms like “transframing” and “performing” refer to the patterns of creation the fictional worlds (constructed by the words which are treated as the images). The being of words still means looking through them, through their semantic flaws. This intersemiotic translations are rooted in the will of creation (Eros) and the will of destruction (Thanatos). The history of interpretations of these two sources of semiosphere touches the limits of questions: what can be shown in written wor(l).

Opis:
A health resort treatment facility is a particular medical entity that performs therapeutic activities because it is located in a health spa resort municipality which has the status of a spa health resort. Only the spa health resort municipality implements its own tasks related to the maintenance of health spa functions, and creates the conditions for this type of health facility to function and to develop the municipal infrastructure in order to meet the needs of people staying in the municipality for spa resort treatment. The basic, but not the sole, purpose of establishing and maintaining a health resort treatment facility is medical activity consisting in providing spa patients with health services performed as part of spa treatment integrated into the health care system. The study focuses on how the definition of this type of facility has evolved in the legislation and the directions of changes that have occurred as a consequence of the change in the legal status, as well as other important terms referring directly to the spa treatment facility. The presentation of its various types and tasks performed by these establishments enables the identification of numerous interpretation problems related to their qualification. Due to the diversified ownership structure of these medical entities, reference is made to their organizational and legal forms, with a demonstration of the possible consequences that result from transforming these establishments into health resort companies. The current epidemic in Poland allows the scope of limitations in the operation of spa treatment facilities to be shown and, consequently, changes in the organization of some types of these facilities.

Opis:
The study concerns the subjective limits of the public subjective right to public information. It attempts to answer the question of the addressee of the claim characterizing this right in the Polish legal order from the perspective of constitutional regulations and the provisions of the Act on Access to Public Information. The analysis focuses on the interpretation of the statutory concepts of “public tasks” and “entity performing public tasks” using the method of doctrinal interpretation as necessary in this respect. At the same time, such an understanding of doctrinal interpretation was adopted, according to which it is an interpretation carried out  in the process of implementing the law, i.e. in specific circumstances, by the entity implementing this law and made from the point of view of the science of law, i.e. when referring to scientific arguments in the justification of the position and proposed solutions presented. For this reason, the results of the doctrinal interpretation of the terms “public task” and “entity performing public tasks” were also referred to the views presented in the jurisprudence of administrative courts. The analysis led to the conclusion that an “entity performing public tasks” within the meaning of the Act on Access to Public Information can be spoken of when the obligation to act    of a specific entity corresponding to the content of the public task is anchored in     a legal norm addressed to this entity, and the responsibility for its implementation is borne by the public-law community (state, self-government communities), of which this entity becomes a body in the functional sense. At the same time, this analysis justifies the conclusion that the theoretical constructions of administrative law, apart from their obvious scientific value, also have operational significance, and the need or even necessity to use the method of doctrinal interpretation in the area of this law seems obvious.

Opis:
This paper focuses on the emergency communication of German paramedics who are learning Polish as a foreign language. This is to be tested in a role play, in which speech acts occur. Can the recorded speech acts or certain pragmatic phenomena be used in foreign language teaching of emergency communication? The study shows that the majority of patients’ responses are understood by the paramedics, but they respond to them inappropriately. Therefore, it is concluded that language courses for paramedics should focus much more on fixed phrases in Polish. The analysis of the recordings shows that this would enable them to formulate their answers in Polish, and not in German or English. In addition, code-switching sequences were used as means to identify the areas where there is a need for a modification of the programme and exercises during the lessons. The emphasis should lie on non-medical answers to the patient’s linguistic actions as well.
