    The article is devoted to the analysis of academic diploma theses: bachelor’s and master’s, carried out in the course of 1st and 2nd degree Romance Philology between 2005-2017 in the perspective of reflective practice. Based on the assumption of the pre-scientific character of the diploma thesis and the resulting imperative of objectivity, the aim of the article is to examine the traces of subjectivity present in the language of the diploma theses. The subject of interest is both subjectivity expressed in 1 singular person, but above all other, less obvious, more “constructed” forms (e.g. metaphors, expressive use of adjectives), which express the emotional commitment of the author of the work. In conclusion, the analysis of the works shows a conflict of paradigms: the scientific imperative of objectivism with the desire to express emotions aroused by literature, and in this indirect way, also to express one’s self and personality.

    In the Italian academic discourse research, Master’s degree theses used to be studied mainly from the perspective of linguistic competencies of their authors. However, strictly linguistic skills are not the only challenge for undergraduate, who must also convey intellectual content in appropriate discursive and rhetorical forms. The paper explores the patterns of a peculiar form of “collaborative writing”, i.e. the cooperation between the thesis supervisor and the student. Using the example of Master’s theses in lin- guistics, written in Italian as a foreign language, three basic didactic approaches are discussed in the paper. In the didactics of content the supervisors emphasize knowledge, i.e. linguistic concepts expected to be applied in a Master’s thesis. In the didactics of forms, the supervisors focus on the linguistic code, that  is, on grammatical and lexical correctness of the Master’s thesis. In the didactics of forms of content the supervisors use regularities observed in academic discourse, such as genre and rhetorical structures, as valuable teaching resources likely to help students develop metacommunicative awareness.

    The title of the story What Remains by Christa Wolf denotes one of the main topics of the present discussion about German literature after 1989. The article presents the new questions (e.g. one or two German literature(s)? What does ‘GDR literature‘ mean? Is it a ‘special case’?) and changing conditions of the study of East German literature. A few new historical works discussing German literature since 1945, mainly since the reunification, and a few theoretical approaches (e.g. GDR literature as a chronotope and as regional literature) are presented.

    The article describes the opportunities and risks of Master – Student relation in the academic, online learning setting. The article begins with the analysis of Master – Student relation by presenting issues regarding the traditionally interpreted person of the master as well as by presenting the obstacles and expectations faced by students. Further on, advantages and disadvantages of computermediated communication (CMC) of the relation are discussed. Based on the research in CMC which, includes the hyper-personal model and the Media Naturalness Theory, the ambivalence of building an authentic, based on the ethical foundations, and a long-lasting interpersonal relationship, is shown. Finally, key risk areas are discussed, in particular reductionist online learning models implemented by the neoliberal agenda in university education, and doubts about the effectiveness of value-oriented education in a virtual environment.

    W komunikacie zaprezentowano oprawę zbioru listów św. Hieronima ze Strydonu, wydanych w trzech tomach w 1524 roku w bazylejskiej oficynie Jana Frobena. Pierwotnym posiadaczem woluminu był Jan Korzbok Witkowski (zm. 1572), którego superekslibrisami (herbowym i napisowym) opatrzono jej dolną okładzinę. Oprawę księgi wykonano w 1527 roku w warsztacie Macieja z Przasnysza (Mistrza Główek Anielskich). Jest ona stosunkowo wczesnym przykładem egzemplarza udekorowanego w typie architektonicznym z motywem portalu z tympanonem. Stanowi przy tym reprezentatywny przykład ukazujący wpływ introligatorstwa włoskiego na tę gałąź polskiego rzemiosła w pierwszej połowie XVI wieku.
    This paper discusses the binding of a set of letters of St. Hieronimus of Strydon, published in three volumes in the printing office of Jan Froben in Basel in 1524. The original owner of the volume was Jan Korzbok Witkowski (d. 1572), whose supralibros indicating the ownership of a book (and bearing his coat of arms and an inscription) was added to the bottom of the front cover page. The original book binding was done in 1527 in the workshop of Maciej of Przasnysz (also known as the Master of Angels Heads). It is a relatively early example of a copy embellished with architectural elements with the motif of a portico with arched tympanum. The binding is a representative example of the book binding technique that shows the influence of Italian book bindery on this particular craft in Poland in the first half of the sixteenth century.

    Based on the Guideline for MTI Training Program established by China National Committee for MTI (Master of Translation and Interpreting) Education, this research makes a successive survey on the status quo of master education of legal translators and interpreters from 2014-2016 to trace the changes and problems revealed in the five major universities of political science and law in China. By comparing and analyzing the information and facts collected on the training target, curriculum setting, teaching staff, platform construction, practical training as well as the employment in those five universities, the authors sort out the diversified advantages and features of the five law schools, and probe into the existing problems and difficulties in common. On the grounds of the survey and interview conducted by the authors in the recent years, the authors put forward the solutions and suggestions on the improvement and future development of Chinese MTI education.
    Autorzy, w oparciu o Przewodnik Programu Kształcenia Tłumaczy Pisemnych i Ustnych ogłoszony przez Chiński Państwowy Komitet Kształcenia Tłumaczy Pisemnych i Ustnych, badają status studiów magisterskich w Chinach w zakresie kształcenia tłumaczy prawniczych w latach 2014-2016. Celem jest wychwycenie zmian i problemów, jakie zaistniały w ramach przedmiotu badania na pięciu największych chińskich uniwersytetach. Analizie poddano informacje i dane rzeczywiste zgromadzone na zajęciach kursowych a zawarte w programach studiów, dotyczące kadry, struktury platformy, zajęć praktycznych oraz informacje dotyczące zatrudnienia w badanych uniwersytetach. Autorzy artykułu skategoryzowali ww. informacje według zalet i charakterystyki określonych pięciu wydziałów prawa i podjęli próbę zdefiniowania ich wspólnych problemów. W oparciu o przeprowadzone badania autorzy artykułu wskazują określone sugestie, możliwości rozwiązania danych problemów oraz potencjalne ulepszenia, które sprzyjać będą przyszłemu rozwojowi kształcenia tłumaczy prawnych w Chinach.

    Niniejszy artykuł kładzie nacisk na problematykę opraw ksiąg, które znalazły się w kolekcji kanonika gnieźnieńskiego Stanisława Grota. Rozpoznany do tej pory fragment księgozbioru duchownego liczy 45 druków. Wszystkie omówione woluminy należą do zasobu Archiwum Archidiecezjalnego w Gnieźnie. Największą część biblioteki kanonika stanowią druki traktujące o prawie kanonicznym, świeckim oraz kazania. Oprawy tych druków w większości zostały wykonane z desek bądź tektury oraz jasnej skóry dodatkowo pokrytej dekoracjami. Z pewnością przeważają oprawy w typie niemieckiego renesansu o kompozycji ramowej. Sporą część tworzą również oprawy o wymowie kontrreformacyjnej, ozdobione plakietami z monogramem IHS. Jak wynika z badań nad znakami wodnymi, kanonik zaopatrywał się nie tylko u lokalnych introligatorów, ale też m.in. u rzemieślników z Małopolski.
    This article focuses on the issues concerning the bindings of books that formed the book collection of the Gniezno canon Stanisław Grot. The identified section of the collection that belonged to Grot amounts to forty five old prints. All volumes discussed in the article come from the Archdiocesan Archives in Gniezno. The bulk of the canon’s library comprises books on canon and secular law and on sermons. The bindings of these old prints are predominantly made of planks or cardboard and light vellum (hide) that had been additionally embellished with ornamentation. Undoubtedly, the bindings made according to the traditional craft of German Renaissance bookbinding and with a framework composition are in preponderance. A sizeable number of bindings feature clearly Counter-Reformation setting with religious symbolism that is clearly Counter Reformation in purpose and with the monograph IHS. As it has been revealed from the analysis of the watermarks, the canon used the binding services of not only local book binders, but also those from the Lesser Poland region.

    Punktem wyjścia artykułu jest analiza nowo odkrytej oprawy z księgozbioru Jana Łaskiego (1499–1560). Nacisk położono na charakterystyczne składniki italianizującej dekoracji okładzin. Dzieło zostało osadzone na tle renesansowego introligatorstwa włoskiego, w tym głównie dorobku introligatorów skupionych w środowisku weneckim. Osobną uwagę poświęcono superekslibrisowi w formie naśladującej charakterystyczny typ włoskiej tarczy herbowej testa di cavallo. W dalszej części poruszono kwestię miejsca wykonania oprawy oraz jej autora. Z dokonanej analizy porównawczej z italianizującymi oprawami krakowskimi z lat 20. XVI wieku wynika, że jest to dzieło Macieja z Przasnysza, określanego w literaturze jako Mistrz Główek Anielskich. Zaawansowane formy renesansowe dzieł tego introligatora, w tym oprawy z poznańskich zbiorów, przesądzić muszą o uznaniu go za czołowego europejskiego twórcę, błyskawicznie przyswajającego nawet najświeższe tendencje w introligatorstwie Italii.
    The present article begins with an analysis of a binding from the book collection of Jan Łaski (1499–1560) that has been recently discovered. The description aims to focus on characteristic elements indicating the Italian influence in the ornamentation of the covers. The characteristic features of the work are compared against the background of Italian Renaissance bookbinding traditions, in particular with that of the bookbinding workmanship distinguishing and representative of the group of bookbinders from Venice. A particular attention is given to the superexlibris stamped on the front cover with its form copying the characteristic type of the Italian shield of testa di cavallo form. The author then proceeds to discuss the issue of the place of manufacture of the binding and its authorship. The provided comparative analysis with other Italian-influenced bindings manufactured in Cracow in the 1520s shows that its authorship can be attributed to Maciej of Przasnysz, defined in literature as the Master of Cherub Heads. Advanced Renaissance forms in the works of this bookbinder, including the bindings from the Poznań collection, may prove him to be one of the leading European book artisans, who was capable of immediate absorbing the most recent and contemporary trends in bookbinding in Italy.

    The author presents the role of a teachers’ teacher, Bożena Chrząstowska. Through her personal memory, she illustrates how a researcher rejecting didactic schemes inspired students to their own methodological research. To her actions she refers to the paradoxical suggestion that each teacher’s spontaneous improvisation should be preceded by careful physical preparation and the recognition to which the recipient/student of the Polish language teacher addresses his/her actions.

    Screenplay, Its Kinds and Its FormsScreenplay is a phenomenon located between two different worlds, spheres and cultures: literature and cinema. In his study, Marek Hendrykowski examines the meaning and functions of all crucial terms connected with film script and screenplay, among them: concept, log line, story, synopsis, treatment, draft, first draft, storyboard, director’s draft, final script and shooting script. The author sketches step by step each of these various forms of scenario in detail, explains what they are about and why they are necessary. He also stresses the importance of rewriting and script development in the process of film creation as a means of taking the achievement to a higher level.
