    This article presents techniques for creating a negative image of a party and their representatives in Internet memes. The author indicates the typical for memes linguistic measures used for depreciation of individual politicians and at the same time contributing to the perpetuation of their axiologically unequivocal image, usually based on a single exaggerated feature. The author analyses examples of repetitions of lapses committed by politicians, key words that characterize them according to memetic scheme, descriptive and evaluative names replacing the names, verbal jokes based on polysemy and homonymy as well as spelling innovation.

    The subject of the study is the analysis of a series of Internet memes and linguistic jokes made available in pseudomemic form in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic. Comedy itself feeds on any deviations from the norm observed in social, and especially political, life; it captures all the aberrations, nonsense and inconsistencies. The pandemic emergency is fraught with new situations and rules that constitute such a deviation. A vivid social reaction is especially visible in the multisemiotic comic genres, such as Internet memes, due to their channel of entry (the Internet becomes the main channel of communication outside of family communities during social isolation), plasticity and susceptibility to replication. Comic forms, apart from peculiarly ludic and humorous functions, also perform persuasive functions, activating the social need to differentiate between oneself and the stranger, and consequently isolate or integrate certain social groups. In addition, Internet memes also serve as a commentary on current events, thus prompting the audience to take a position. Persuasion dressed in a comic costume seems to be one of the strongest ways of social influence, because it spreads in its innocent and playful form like a viral and becomes firmly fixed in social consciousness.

    Nowadays, it is hard to imagine internet culture without memes. To achieve a humorous effect, meme creators use various means, displaying unprecedented creativity. They often draw inspiration from cult Soviet comedies by Leonid Gaidai, Georgiy Daneliya, Vladimir Menshov, Eldar Ryazanov, Aleksandr Sery and other famous directors. This article is devoted to the analysis of iintertextual connections in Russian internet memes related to the current COVID-19 pandemic. The intertextual references can be in the form of a frame from a Soviet comedy, a movie catchphrase, or both at the same time. Catchphrases can be used in the analysed internet memes in their original version, or they can undergo various modifications, such as the replacement of some components and/or the extension of phrase composition. The fact of making use of a specific movie scene or catchphrase by meme creators proves that Soviet comedy is still deeply rooted in Russian culture. Soviet comedies begin to “live a new life” in internet memes.

    The article is devoted to the analysis of the pragmatics and semiotics in the productive comic genre of digital communication – the political meme. The empirical material consists of actual internet heterogeneous texts, created after the publication of Alexei Navalny’s film “Palace for Putin”. The comic content is viewed as a way of defusing the public tension of the sanctioned protest, an instrument for interpreting and discussing current social reality, as well as a method of demonizing a political subject “them”. The research assumes multimodality of the media environment and its products. It considers verbal, iconic and metagraphic ways of realizing the pragmatic intentions of the participants in the communication process. The author examines the initial situation (proto situation) that caused a communicative reaction of the internet users in the form of memes, analyzes the essence of a political meme as a heterogeneous text. The article describes the structural organization of memes, the syntactic and semantic relations of the verbal and iconic parts, as well as the use of intertextuality to concisely and expressively transmit new meanings.

    The aim of the article is to present how the approach towards linguistic correctness of current users of the Polish language is reflected in Internet memes. The starting point is the assumption that language norms in online communication are treated in a different manner than usual. However, the high frequency of deviations from norms in online texts (especially in memes) does not mean a simple neglecting of the rules of linguistic correctness, as it includes both unintentional and accidental breaches of norms (coming from ignorance, lack of knowledge of rules or carelessness) and intentional actions of functional character, dictated mostly by treating the language in a ludic manner. In this article, the analysis of deviations from norms in memes is subordinated to presenting their purpose, which could be one of the following: linguistic fun, satire, anarchist defiance or provocation, attracting attention of recipients in order to distinguish the meme among massive amounts of information, and the diagnosis of linguistic correctness of specific people or representatives of various social groups (e.g. junior high school students, sports fans, blokers, sports commentators, teachers, elderly women). Moreover, creating negative protagonists of memes by attempting to imitate their language, which consists mostly of repeating their linguistic errors, allowed for the recreation of linguistic awareness of Internet users, e.g. for indicating the most ridiculed types of errors (spelling, phonetic and lexical). The key conclusion from the analysis is the indication of memes exemplifying the alignment with norms as a value, even if its appreciation is preceded by the (apparent) rejection of all rules.

    W artykule została przeprowadzona analiza tworzenia ukraińskich neofrazeologizmów, źródeł ich powstania, osobliwości frazeologizacji. Ponadto omówiono różne grupy neologiki, zaproponowano ich interpretację stylistyczną oraz socjolingwistyczną. Jak wynika z analizy, duża część współczesnych neofrazeologizmów powstaje albo w wirtualnej przestrzeni komunikacyjnej, albo rozprzestrzenia się i zyskuje popularność dzięki platformom internetowym jako memy. Zważywszy, że internetowe memy tekstowe jak dotąd nie były przedmiotem badań z punktu widzenia procesu frazeologizacji, takie badania uznano za istotne i warte podjęcia. W pracy wykorzystano metodę opisową oraz metody analizy semantycznej i kontekstowej. W toku analiz semantycznych i kontekstowych ustalono, że powstawanie memów i frazeologizmów jest reakcją na wydarzenia w życiu społeczno-politycznym oraz kulturalnym. W związku z powyższym memy reprezentująaktualne tematy, odzwierciedlają stereotypy, mitologemy świadomości masowej oraz wartości.Przeanalizowany materiał neologiczny pokazuje, że bardzo często frazy-repliki charakteryzują się nową ekspresywnością oraz określoną stabilnością i odtwarzalnością, a na ich popularność wpływają sytuacje typowe, w których mogą zostać użyte. Mimo tendencji do uniwersalizacji dziedziny komunikacji, w środowisku ukraińskim funkcjonuje wiele utartych zwrotów związanych z ukraińskimi postaciami oraz wydarzeniami.
    In the article, the author analyses the processes of creation of Ukrainian neo-phraseological units, traces their sources, their features of phraseologization, identifies different groups of phraseological neo-logic and provides a stylistic and sociolinguistic interpretation. As the analysis shows, many of these modern neo-phraseological units are either created in a virtual communication space, or spread and gain popularity through Internet platforms in the form of memes. Since text Internet memes have not yet been studied in terms of their phraseologization, we consider this area of research relevant. The paper uses a descriptive method, as well as methods of semantic and contextual analysis. The vast majority of memes and phraseological units are a reaction to events in socio-political and socio-cultural life; they represent current topics, which reflect stereotypes, mythologies of mass consciousness, values. The neology material analyzed here shows that quite often phrases-replicas are marked by certain stability and reproducibility; they are widespread due to the typicality of situations in which they can be used, and updated expressiveness. Despite the tendency to universalize the sphere of communication in the Ukrainian environment, there are lots of clichéd phrases related to Ukrainian characters and events.
