As a consequence of globalization human life is subjected to many mechanisms that go along with it for example homogenization, culture diffusion, consumptionism, relativism and constant change, which lead to unreflectiveness affecting all aspects of human life. A human beeing exists in a common reality in accordance to a very flexible scenario, without much thought about the sense of existence. This situation reflects on education, which should concentrate on efficent spreading of knowledge and skills necessary to live in current conditions, which are a source of many chances but also dangers. Those changes can’t be analyzed without taking markets into consideration, understood as having and usefulness. Those trends cause the „production” of alumni that are very efficient from an economical point of view and oriented on self realization, but aren’t oriented on reflective exploration of the world. This situation results in comparing humans to machines and in an obsessive want of getting a diploma which certifies obtaining education understood as a commodity. This in turn is an incentive to reflect upon the foundations of education a process that is the most important investment in the development of human capital.

This article focuses on art, the aesthetic, and the body as a medium for self and social change in developing some thoughts on this issue of globalization and dance. The article explores how art, and specifically dance, can be a vehicle for aesthetic activism that emphasizes the importance of social justice and compassionate community. Drawing on critical and feminist pedagogies the author links pedagogy and aesthetic activism to social integration and cohesion, a sense of belonging and interdependence, and a sense of shared consciousness. The choreographic process described centers on the body as a site for self and social awareness and a critical understanding of the context of women’s lives. The aesthetic here is understood as that domain in which dominant meanings are disclosed and possibilities for social change can be imagined and realized. The author describes a community dance process in Cape Town South Africa in which notions of embodied knowledge and critical understanding come together to create a dance performance. This pedagogy suggests ways in which meaning and purpose within a changing global context can be grounded in an ethics of social justice, human rights and inclusive community.

The aim of this article is to examine the phenomena of inclusion and fundamentalism within Niklas Luhmann’s system theory of religion in a globalized society. According to system theory, functional differentiation, rising contingency, and progressing specialization of decision-making centers within western society have all lead to the emergence of a modem and, subsequently, globalized society. Due to changes in the social system, followed by the process of secularization, religion has differentiated itself into an autonomous social subsystem. In effect, it has lost its central position as a value provider and encompassing normative system. Rising religious inclusion and privatization, as well as the emergence of religious fundamentalism, are seen as two opposing, yet complimentary, processes, each emerging as a consequence of modernization and globalization. Inclusion is understood as an individual’s ability to chose between a variety of possible religious options, without the threat of facing any religious or social sanctions. Conversely, fundamentalism is seen as a radical reaction to the process of modernization and progressing differentiation of the social and religious system. From Luhmann’s perspective, both of these processes can lead to the disintegration of religious and, as a consequence, the social system as a whole.

The situation of man in the beginning of 21st century is known as the postmodern. The concept of postmodernism indicates theoretically more or less elaborated opinions on current status of the process of globalization. The process of globalization does not produce only progress and positives but also threats, risks and transformation of man which are not only humanizing. The problem of postmodernism is mastery of plurality, heterogenity and otherness of ways, values and experiences of life, specialization of branches of science and societal development trends so that it contributes to digni ed human life in society. The concept of postmodernism and its consequences for education of the younger generation project into conceptions of educational institutions, education in the family, but they also nd their re ection in state policy due to the younger generation. Social changes, which occured at the end of 20th century, are part of global context of economical, political, social and cultural evolution. Their reach and importance must be seen into the future and in these wider connections.

The composition of a new type of words with morphemes -инг/-ing, -(о)голик/-(о)holik, -завр/-zaur corresponds to a historical drift in the formation of analytic and agglutinative lines in the Russian and Polish languages.

Jednym z głównych czynników warunkujących rozwój współczesnych miast są procesy globalizacji. Z jednej strony coraz silniej wiążą ze sobą tendencje globalne z kwestiami lokalnymi, natomiast z drugiej strony eliminują pewne obszary z głównego nurtu rozwoju. W pracy przedstawiono inicjatywy podjęte w Kielcach pod wpływem tych procesów. We wstępnych rozdziałach omówiono specyfikę transformacji gospodarczej Kielc oraz zmiany w fizjonomii miasta będące konsekwencją usunięcia barier gospodarczych i fizjonomicznych ze światem zewnętrznym, a następnie rozwój: korporacji handlowych, nowoczesnych usług dla biznesu, nowoczesnych powierzchni wystawienniczych i Kieleckiego Parku Technologicznego, będących przykładami glokalizacji.
One of the main factors conditioning the development of modern cities are globalization processes. On the one hand, they increasingly link global trends with local issues, while on the other, they eliminate certain areas from the mainstream of development. This paper presents initiatives taken in Kielce under the influence of these processes. The introductory chapters present the specifics of Kielce’s economic transformation and changes in the city’s physiognomy as a consequence of removing economic and physiognomy barriers with the outside world. Then, the development of commercial corporations, modern business services, modern exhibition space and Kielce Technology Park, which are examples of glocalization, were discussed.

The article discusses the teacher’s awareness and professional knowledge, emphasizing the characteristics and changes taking place in the modern world and their influence on teaching. Self-definition of the teacher’s consciousness has been developed based on the theory of Illeris (2003. p. 227) as a subjective process, which affects the way the teacher operates and assimilates information in the workplace through social interaction. The article presents refers to the concept of “teacher consciousness” as an interdisciplinary concept that characterizes the challenges of the modern world with an emphasis on the development of science and technology, On this background, the importance of the view of the “big picture” (Khenin, 2007: 36–39) stands out in the development of broad pedagogical awareness in the planning of teachers’ training. Teacher awareness is an acquired learning tool that enables cognitive ability to extract raw reality from the interpretation of attitudes and beliefs and may determine the school culture and its affiliation to a traditional or an innovative stream.

Throughout history ethical and philosophical thought has been shaping various concepts of freedom. Global transitions and significant changes within economic, sociopolitical and cultural structures have raised new questions on postmodern human condition and the sphere of axiology. The paper presents selected aspects of freedom in the context of globalization according to the works of Emmanuel Lévinas and Zygmunt Bauman. A postulated concept of freedom is defined in relation to criteria such as dialogue, encounter, inter-subjectivity and responsibility, that are the foundations for tradition of the philosophy of dialogue. The article aims at highlighting social challenges and chances, in terms of the fast-changing world, and outlines the importance of discussing the problem of freedom in dialogical approach in the 21st century.

The article In Defense of Human Identity: the Reality of Globalization as the Cause of Modernization of Modern Educational Systems is an attempt to reflect on the role of the educational process in the context of the value system offered in the modern world. It appears that authentic human participation in the reality of global and involuntary compliance with the directives of globalism is both a crisis of identity, of its existence, values, norms, and all human activities. Efforts taken to demonstrate the value of dogma, which carries with it an affirmation of the modern world, and conformist standards of conduct, is to notice the risk of objective truth about man and reality. Civilization implies in fact a kind of order to eradicate what is human. The human drama shows an almost total devotion to the values of functionalism and utility. Therefore, it is vital for modern education to return to the personal dimension of human existence. This accomplishment, a full range of education, which means clarifying the challenges confronting it, is only possible with recognizing and highlighting the personal status of the man based on the personalistic norm. This article helps the contemporary human being to realize the importance of learning to respect human dignity and to protect the identity of a mature man

The article describes in detail some derivational elements involved in the process of agglutination occurring in word-formation system of modern Russian, analyzing semantic and functional characteristics of these word-building elements. The comprehensive analysis of the collected hybrid derivatives shows that globalization and the Anglo-American ‘linguistic hegemony’ increased the productivity of international morphemes, penetrating into the Russian word formation system through the mass media. Modern Russian language has been undergoing noticeable changes in word-formation models and in the inventory of actively productive derivational affixes. The following processes are noticeable: 1) resemantization and activation of international affixes; 2) development of new hybrid derivative models; 3) creation with the help of morphemes abstracted from composites new formally and semantically condensed nouns, which allows to notice an agglutination’s tendency.

The events and processes of the recent decades drive us to awake from the hypnotic illusion of the ‘end of history’. The ‘return of history’ is not only a necessary step that has to be taken, but it is ontologically inevitable. Blinded by the mobile army of metaphors, metonyms and anthropomorphisms, we need to see that the processes of the 21st century are no different from the old politics which were recorded in history, thus it is unavoidable to think within the ‘dialectics of Old and New’. Globalization, relativization of values, removal of borders and the re-narration of borders in previously unseen areas lead us to an existential zero point. Borders play significant self-determining and self-definition role in our life and society, thus their relocation, reorientation and blurring of their meaning is a question that has to be analysed and closely watched. Together with the narration of borders, the narration of security plays major role. Migration and the question of open, permeable borders have become one of the most important security narrations of our everyday life.
Wydarzenia i procesy ostatnich dziesięcioleci przypominają nam o hipnotycznej iluzji „końca historii”. „Powrót historii” jest nie tylko koniecznym krokiem, który należy podjąć, ale jest ontologicznie nieunikniony. Zaślepieni mobilną armią metafor, metonimów i antropomorfizmów, musimy dostrzec, że procesy XXI wieku nie różnią się od dawnej polityki, która została zapisana w historii, dlatego nieuniknione jest myślenie w ramach „dialektyki starego i nowego”. Globalizacja, relatywizacja wartości, usuwanie granic i re-narracja granic w niewidzianych wcześniej obszarach prowadzą nas do egzystencjalnego punktu zerowego. Granice odgrywają istotną rolę samostanowiącą i samookreślającą w naszym życiu i społeczeństwie, dlatego ich relokacja reorientacja i zacieranie się ich znaczenia, jest kwestią, którą należy przeanalizować i uważnie obserwować. Wraz z narracją granic główną rolę odgrywa narracja na temat bezpieczeństwa. Migracja i kwestia otwartych, przepuszczalnych granic stały się jedną z najważniejszych narracji bezpieczeństwa w naszym codziennym życiu.
