    Artykuł jest poświęcony pewnej części, wczesnej, reporterskiej twórczości Józefa Mackiewicza. W reportażach napisanych pod koniec lat trzydziestych, przedstawił on protestanckie mniejszości religijne, bujnie rozwijące się wówczas na wschodzie Polski, lecz nie cieszące się pozytywną opinia władz i ludności otaczającej. Mackiewicz stwierdził, że wszystkie zarzuty stawiane owym sektom, są niesłuszne. Uważa on ponadto, że mogą one pozytywnie wpłynąć na stosunki społeczne. Reportaże Mackiewicza o sektach to odosobniony przykład zainteresowania tym tematem w ówczesnej Polsce.
    The article is dedicated to a part of early reportage work of Józef Mackiewicz. In the reportages written at the end of 1930s, he presented Protestant religious minorities which back then flourished in eastern part of Poland, but which did not have a positive opinion among the authorities and other peoples. Mackiewicz stated that all the accusations towards those sects were groundless. He also claimed that they can positively influence social relations. Mackiewicz’s reportages on sects was an isolated case of interest in this topic in Poland of those times.

    This article presents and verifies material embedded in the awareness of users of Polish spoken in the southern part of Eastern Borderlands of the country across generations. The close relation between Polish and Ukrainian languages is conducive to the emergence of numerous interferences. Inclusion of Ukrainian features into the Polish system took place in the course of many centuries of contacts with speakers of the Ukrainian language. Ukrainian subdialects have left their mark on the Polish language in the southern part of Eastern Borderlands also in formations which deviate from the literary language. In the Polish language under scrutiny – the language spoken on the Polish-Ukrainian borderland, some formations follow Ukrainiansubdialects and the entire Eastern Slavic area. A majority of adverbs have a structure compliant with the general Polish language. However, there are also different formations, typical of borderland subdialects.

    Artykuł przynosi omówienie wydarzeń politycznych w Polsce w XX wieku zarejestrowane w poezji Waldemara Żyszkiewicza. Ważnym tematem jest zjawisko migracji Polaków z lat: 1944-1947. Poezja ta, mimo że wpisuje się w dyskurs nostalgii, nie przynosi obrazów utraconego Lwowa. Wiersze poruszają temat osiedlenia się przez wysiedleńców z Kresów Wschodnich w Poznaniu, w obcym dla nich mieście, nacechowanym niemiecką kulturą. Inspiracją teoretyczną dla artykułu były przede wszystkim monografie: Beaty Halickiej Polski Dziki Zachód (2016) oraz Ewy Domańskiej Mikrohistorie (1999).
    The article focuses on a description of political events in the 20th century Poland which were reflected in the poetry of Waldemar Żyszkiewicz. An important topic is a migration of the Polish over the period 1944-1947. His poetry, though conforms to the discourse of nostalgia, does not evoke the images of the lost Lvov. Poems raise the theme of settling down by deportees from Kresy Wschodnie (Eastern borderlands) in Poznan, an area were German culture was cultivated. The theoretical inspiration for the article was provided above all by two monographs by Beata Halicka “Polski Dziki Zachód” (“The Polish Wild West”, 2016) and by Ewa Domańska “Mikrohistorie” (Microstories, 1999).

    Rekapitulując główne tendencje hauptologii, autor artykułu pyta ponownie o model pamięci w twórczości Zygmunta Haupta i proponuje rozszerzenie ustalonej „epifanicznej” lektury jego prozy o perspektywę geopoetyki. Na materiale licznych opowiadań autora Pierścienia z papieru udowadnia, jak wybujałe szczegóły utraconego świata galicyjskiego wyrastają za każdym razem z jedynego żywiołu pozornie zapamiętanego jako monolityczny i absolutny (deszcz, śnieg, piasek, trawa, powietrze, kurz itd.). W tym wyłanianiu się detali krystalizuje się rodzaj epifanii, która jest skoncentrowana nie tyle na podmiocie, ile na otoczeniu. Poprzez to uzewnętrznienie pamięci – za sprawą żywiołu – szczegóły uzyskują swój specyficzny status niekonieczności, wyrażającej się w typowych dla tego pisarza enumeracjach. Autor artykułu pyta także o granice tego modelu i znajduje je w „polskim kulturalizmie” (Andrzej Mencwel), który w przyrodzie widzi przede wszystkim „świat pozaludzki” i który Haupt w umiarkowanej, apolitycznej formie zdaje się podzielać. Kulturalistyczna postawa Haupta zostaje dookreślona poprzez porównanie niektórych jego opowiadań amerykańskich z negatywnymi opisami krajobrazu Kalifornii przez Czesława Miłosza i Theodora W. Adorno.
    Recapitulating major tendencies in Haupt studies, the paper revisits the question of memory models in works by Zygmunt Haupt, and proposes to extend the established, “epiphanic” reading of Haupt’s prose with a geopoetic perspective. Based on numerous examples from Haupt’s works, the paper demonstrates how exuberant details of the lost Galician world tend to grow on the ground of an element seemingly remembered as monolithic and absolute (rain, snow, sand, grass, air, dust, etc.). A certain type of epiphany crystallizes in the emergence of details, focused on surroundings rather than on the subject. Thanks to this externalization of memory through the elements, details gain their specific non-necessary status expressed in the typical Hauptian enumerations. This model is limited by “Polish culturalism” (Andrzej Mencwel), according to which nature constitutes first and foremost “a nonhuman world” – an idea that Haupt seems to share in a moderate, apolitical form. Haupt’s culturalist attitude is further explored by a comparison of some of his American stories with negative descriptions of Californian landscape by Czesław Miłosz and Theodor W. Adorno.

    The article presents Kajetan Kraszewski’s opinions on the Uniate Church in Podlasie, included in his Silva rerum. The views of the author of Kronika rodzinna (Family chronicle) are confronted with the statements of the researchers (mostly historians, literary scholars and linguists) within the broad context of the political, social and cultural life of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and the partition periods. By comparing research literature and excerpts from Silva rerum, the article analyses the effects of the Union of Lublin and the Union of Brest for the peasant community of Podlasie in the 1860s and 1870s. As presented in Kajetan Kraszewski’s Kronika, the tragedy of the followers of the Uniate Church in Podlasie resulted from the social and religious conditions that fuelled the divides during the time of the Russian partition (divide et impera). Kraszewski’s Silva rerum constitutes an image of the distance with which peasants treated Podlasie’s Uniate Church members, similar to the latter’s during the “masters’” uprising of 1863 (“in the masters’ uprising – we stayed aside watching”).
