Opis:
A range of issues associated with responsible parenthood and presented in Pope Paul VI’s encyclical letter Humanae vitae seems to be an interesting proposal for proclaiming good news about marriage and family to contemporary people. With regard to man's innate drives and emotions, responsible parenthood means that man's reason and will must exert control over them. However, marriage and conjugal love are by their nature ordained not only toward the procreation, but also education of children. This, in turn, is not limited only to life on earth, but also to eternity. Focusing on intrinsic relationship between marital act and procreation can be used in a dialogue with infertile married people. However, it has to be presented in a comprehensible way for young people by resorting to personalistic anthropology and a range of branches of science devoted to mankind so that they could understand that in the procreative faculty the human mind discerns biological laws that apply to the human person. Only then will the teaching of the Church about responsible parenthood become a powerful tool in new evangelization.

It is almost a consensus among the Brazilians that, in order to solve the social issues, the education must be improved. Thus, the present study aimed to analyze the Brazilian key-thinkers on education. Rui Barbosa, Fernando de Azevedo, Anísio Teixeira, Cecília Meireles, and Paulo Freire were selected because they worked to develop some aspects of education: politics, educational system, philosophy of education, childhood education and pedagogical methods. These intellectuals fought against powerful societal forces, but they did not give up on transforming the Brazilian education, and, consequently, the Brazilian society. Therefore, they were selected to represent the Brazilian key-thinkers on education.

Turczyk Małgorzata, Kategoria praw dziecka w refleksji dydaktyki akademickiej [The category of children’s rights in the reflection of academic didactics]. Kultura – Społeczeństwo – Edukacja nr 2(14) 2018, Poznań 2018, pp. 119–126, Adam Mickiewicz University Press. ISSN 2300-0422. DOI 10.14746/kse.2018.14.10. This paper concerns the place and meaning of a new category of children’s rights, which also finds its place in the area of interest of academic didactics. The current approach to human rights in schooling is basically normative, thus, the present academic didactics is challenged to prepare students of education – and teaching – related faculties to confront the issues in the field of children’s rights at work in a professional manner. The paper illustrates an author’s concept of didactics in terms of education to children’s rights at higher schools which was elaborated based of the research on the didactic aspects of children’s rights education for teachers and educationists on the academic level. The following issues were put in question and served as a basis for specific approaches to academic didactics in terms of education on children’s rights: an essence and need for inclusion of content related to children’s rights in academic learning practice, didactic tools at teacher’s disposal and their role in education for children’s rights. On the one hand, the paper presents a discussion on theprofessional preparation of teachers and educationists to face challenges related to protection and promotion of children’s rights within educational environments. On the other hand, it includes an attempt to merge the discrepancy between theory and practice in this field.

HISTORY OF EDUCATION
Opis:
The birth of a child in a Jewish family, both in the ancient times and today, brings happiness not only to the parents themselves but also to the whole of the Jewish community. Children are a gift from God, they contribute to the prosperous future of the family they come from, but they also, what is essential, guarantee the continued survival of the chosen nation. Following this assumption, childless families were considered to be deficient, unsubstantial and were shunned from society because, as the Israelites believe, God blesses only those who have numerous offspring. The lack of children was often considered a curse, equated to punishment for sins and the absence of God in the family. The present article introduces the reader to the principles of traditional education of Jewish children, outlines problems of child’s education both at home, which is a fundamental basis for creating and shaping Jewish identity, and at school, where the emphasis is on transferring knowledge of religious and moral nature. Additionally, educational methods used both at family home and educational establishments are also discussed in the article.

The use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in education during a pandemic has become a fact and a must. Before COVID-19 (for decades), the need to use ICT in education was po[1]stulated and suggested. Research carried out in this area resulted from the need to understand what technologies are potentially available for use in education, including the teaching and learning of mathematics. One important issue still to be resolved is whether and how to support children in their mathematical education using technology. This publication, referring to selected recent studies con[1]ducted worldwide, gives examples and arguments for technological support of mathematics learning.

The paper discusses the issue of functioning of the rural child during the time of the profanum, within the period from the late Middle Ages till the 19th century. The purpose of this text is to attempt to answer the questions: how did peasant children participate in the time of the profanum – understood as a time of non-celebration, and thus working time resulting from the rhythm of nature and the calendar of fieldwork, and the time of play? What did rural children learn during that time? What social and cultural skills did they acquire? The analysis of iconographic, memoir and literary sources serves the historical and pedagogical interpretation.

Ostrowska Ludwika was born September 5, 1851, in the palace of Maluszyn. Her father was Count Alexander Ostrowski of the house of Korab (1810–1896), her mother – Helena Countess of Morsztyns of the house of Leliwa (1815–1892). The countess was the youngest, sixth child of Alexander and Helen. The family environment exerted a significant influence on the development of Ludwika as a child, and later shaped her attitude in life. The childhood of the little countess passed in the happy atmosphere of the family home, under the watchful eye of her mother and carers, teachers and educators. In later years, as she grew older, Ludwika gradually took over the duties lady of the house and the management of a farm cottage and garden. She was also interested in social affairs, which was reflected in her commitment to charity.

Opis:
The article presents the need to make the culture of children's rights fundamental from the earliest years of their lives, given the idea of children's social participation. Creating and practising such a culture throughout childhood is a task that requires not only a thorough knowledge of the child’s rights among both parents and teachers but also the wider acceptance of these ideas and the creation of the right environment for sharing and speaking up for them both at home and in early education settings. The academic and colloquial discourse on parental practices and institutional childcare often overlooks the dimension/significance of recognising children's participation in safeguarding their human rights. Meanwhile, the processes of early normative socialisation are of great importance to their development and their future attitudes towards law in general and towards their human rights and others' rights. Social participation is where the child can experience his or her rights and learn about respecting others' rights. With this in mind, a question must be asked about how children's rights are realised in early childhood in the context of their participation in the socialisation process. The author uses the example of the child’s right to a family as a lens to observe how the idea of the children’s participation in securing children’s rights may be realised or violated. The article is based on an analysis of the subject's literature, in which legal discourse and teachings on child-rearing and early education are used as the interpretative context.

This article examines the concept of undocumented childhood. Undocumented children have to navigate between protected (as minors) and unprotected (as young adults) contexts. Therefore, they live not only in a relatively difficult situation as children staying in another country, but also face other risks due to their uncertain futures. Their situation calls for a re-examination of the frame that has been triggered to incorporate them. In particular, one may ask: what does it mean to provide children with rights and protections that ultimately expire. Thus, the article aims to bring the discussion about children as a minority groupback. It helps to assure that migrant children will be considered as children first, and not as foreigners.

Anyone who works with the youth knows that the period of adolescence is a specific life-phase for young students. “Socio-cultural changes, changing family patterns, too many incentives and the social pressure in many areas of human’s life” (p. 252) can cause problems, and teenagers often don’t deal appropriately with their feelings, emotions, and expressions. Also during this time, we have come to expect different and often rebellious, as well as undesirable behaviour from the young boys and girls. Every teacher, educator or someone who takes care of such young people, is inclined to support them effectively and when the functional disorders start to appear, they want to react positively towards them and work together to solve their problems. For those people, I would highly recommend the book “Self-destruction children and youth” written by Beata Ziółkowska and Jowita Wycisk.
