    The author presents the outcome of her own research on the in uence of the pop culture on self-body image. In the research, di erent aspects of self-body image are taken into account: being t, healthy and being goodlooking or pretty. The analysis of the scienti c research persuades the reader that mass media are important but not the most important source of information which they use to judge? their bodies. Moreover, it is claimed that the meaning of cocalled pop culture for teenagers’ self-judgment is di erentiated, it is most important for the appearance.

    The issue of the continuous improvement of professional qualifications by medical doctors is of utmost importance both from the point of view of doctors and their patients. Acquiring new knowledge and skills is an important element of a doctor’s professional career. A doctor who raises his qualifications guarantees better medical care for a patient. The professional self-governing body of doctors constitutes a significant element in the postgraduate education of doctors. It participates in the education of interns and in the procedure of acquiring the title of specialist. It also supervises and organizes the process of doctors’ mandatory continuous education. A majority of the tasks related to doctors’ professional education is performed by regional chambers. The Wielkopolska Medical Chamber organizes training sessions and courses for its members, which are one of the forms of fulfilling the requirement of professional improvement, reimburses a portion of the costs borne by the doctors in connection with improving their professional qualifications, and it establishes cooperation with domestic and foreign academic institutions to provide doctors from Wielkopolska with an opportunity to partake in training. These activities of the medical association, combined with the organs of professional liability of doctors, allow the patients to hope that when visiting a doctor they encounter a specialist who will take the utmost care of them.

    The author analyses Fryderyk Chopin’s correspondence within the context of the new humanities field of body studies. The socio-cultural anthropology of the body has been an object of study since the 1980s. It has enabled the extraction of the picture of a cultural body inscribed in Chopin’s correspondence, and it has also shown how his conception of his own soma and of the bodies of other people diverge from the Romantic convention of writing about corporeality. In the age of romanticism, sickness and physical weakness were glorified like a gift and a badge of spiritual aristocracy. A suffering and frail complexion became a value in the salons - a laissezpasser to the world of artistic sensitivity. Chopin never succumbed to that fashion. His record of his corporeal experience is strikingly un-Romantic, as can be seen, for example, when comparing it with the narration of sickness contained in the correspondence of Zygmunt Krasiński. The corporeal experience displayed by the great musician is striking in its modernity. Chopin rejects the Romantic lyricisation of sickness; his utterances are pithy, dominated by sarcasm and even physiological brutality, and the style of his description of corporeality employs grotesqueness, irony and absurdity. Human subjectivity sensed through the body paints a picture of a fragmentary, disharmonious self; people reveal themselves to the eyes of others not as a whole, but as an abbreviation, a representative detail. Visions of mechanised bodies, whose behaviour and actions are hyperbolised by the musician, bring us - especially during the last years of Chopin’s life - into a world where corporeality is a source of strangeness, and even repugnance. In the conclusion of the article, the author denies that Chopin’s music can be directly translated into a moving picture: she states that neither his illness nor any other experiences of his bodily existence can be treated in an illustrative way that purports to “illuminate” his music directly.

    The article points out the possibility and necessity to expand the meaning of the traditional notion of imagology. The author believes that one should move from the Alien/Other imagology to the image of bodily and mental self. The project of such an analysis is performed on the material from the works by Ewa Kuryluk and Katarzyna Kozyra.

    The article is an attempt to describe the conditions in which the body assumes the role of a prop – it becomes an object organizing individual and social life. For such a process to take place, it is necessary to disconnect the body from the Self. It comes with his death. Funeral practices that change the social status of the body can take a monistic or dualistic form. The former make the body a relic and are based on the belief that soma is connected with its spiritual essence. The latter, on the contrary, points to the impermanence of such a connection. In this way, the body becomes a prop, an object, an object, and a tool for funeral performances.

    Cel niniejszego artykułu jest dwojaki. Z jednej strony zamierzam wskazać, w którym miejscu leży punkt ciężkości Foucaultowskiego projektu wolnościowego, z drugiej – pragnę ów projekt uzasadnić na poziomie ontologicznym poprzez wprowadzenie „języka maszynowego” (wyraźnie zainspirowanego dwutomowym dziełem Capitalisme et schizophrénie Deleuze’a i Guattariego). W tym celu skonstruuje pewne mininarzędzie badawcze, za pomocą którego będę analizował różnicę pomiędzy dyscypliną a reżymem. Ponadto w zakończeniu wskażę kilka słabości propozycji autora Historii seksualności, które ujawniają się dzięki zaproponowanej przeze mnie perspektywie.
    The purpose of this article is twofold. On the one hand I highlight the focus of the Foucauldian liberation project; on the other hand I want to justify this project on an ontological level by introducing a “machine language” (inspired by the two-volume work Capitalism and Schizophrenia of Deleuze and Guattari). For this purpose I construct a research mini-tool whereby the difference between discipline and regimen will be analyzed. Moreover, in conclusion, I point out some weaknesses of the project offered by the author of The History of Sexuality which are revealed by the perspective I propose.

    Pojęcie „Ewangelia rodziny”, zainspirowany nauczaniem Jana Pawła II zawiera w sobie dwa wymiary: pierwszy pokazuje co Pismo Święte mówi na temat małżeństwa i rodziny; drugi ukierunkowuje na fakt, że rodzina chrześcijańska sama w sobie, w swoim bycie jest nosicielką Dobrej Nowiny o ile jest świadkiem miłości, i to bycie wyprzedza jakiekolwiek znaki lub działania apostolskie. W ten sposób rodzina, jako miejsce wychowania osoby ludzkiej do miłości oraz do życia we wspólnocie osób, jest w stanie dać odpowiedź na wyzwania rzucone jej przez postmodernizm: indywidualizm, prywatyzację miłości, oderwanie płciowości od prokreacji, analfabetyzm uczuciowy. Nowa ewangelizacja, skierowana do rodziny i która by przechodziła przez rodzinę, ma za zadanie dać odpowiedź epoce postmodernistycznej poprzez dwie propozycje: dać świadectwo, że wydarzenie, spotkanie oraz wspólnota z żywym Bogiem oraz człowiekiem góruje nad jakąkolwek argumentacją intelektualną lub tradycją oraz zaproponować „regułę” życia rodzinnego, która suponuje dwa inne przekonania, że nie istnieje reguła bez duchowości i że nie ma adekwatnej duchowości bez relacji we wspólnocie osób.
    The term „The Gospel of the family” inspired by the teaching of John Paul II includes two dimensions: the first one shows what the Scripture says about marriage and family; the second one focuses on a fact that the Christian family itself is a bearer of the Good News, provided that it is a witness to love and it goes ahead of any other signs or apostolic actions. In this way family, as a place of teaching the human person to love and to live in a communion of persons, is able to take up challenges brought by postmodernism: individualism, privatization of love, disconnect between sexuality and procreation, emotional illiteracy. New evangelization directed towards family and penetrating the family, has to give the response to a postmodern age, offering two ways: to give a testimony that the phenomenon, meeting and the communion with the living God and human dominates any sort of intellectual arguments or tradition as well as to propose a “principle” of  family life which assumes two other beliefs: that there is no principle without spirituality and that there is no adequate spirituality without relations in the communion of persons.
