    W artykule zainteresowanie badawcze koncentruje się na postmodernistycznych strategiach (auto)mitologizacji w twórczości znanego serbskiego pisarza Savy Damjanova. Składnikami tych strategii są prowokacja intelektualna, tworzenie swojego własnego świata literackiego oraz mitu w połączeniu z apokryficznym, ironicznym (czasami pozostającym na granicy bluźnierstwa) stosunkiem do „wielkich narracji” i mitów narodowych oraz intertekstualności (w tym autocytowanie). Szczególne miejsce zajmują strategie autoreprezentacji (tekstualne i wizualne), a także strategie znoszenia granic między rzeczywistością realną a literacką (stosowanie kodu erotycznego w postaci zarówno tekstowej, jak i wizualnej, znoszenie granic między kodami tekstualnym a cielesnym, między fikcją i autobiografizmem, między ciałem pisarza a jego utworami).
    In the article we examine the postmodern strategies of (auto)mythologization in the creative work of a well-known Serbian writer, Sava Damjanov. Constituent parts of this strategy include intellectual provocation, creation of a personal literary world and myth combined with apocryphal, ironical (sometimes on the verge of sacrilege) treatment of “great narratives” and national myths, and with intertextuality (including autocitations). Special attention is paid to the strategies of autorepresentation (textual and visual) and to the strategies of leveling the frontiers between “real” and literary reality (the use of erotic code both in textual and in visual form, the leveling of frontiers between textual and corporal codes, between fictional and autobiographical, between the writer’s body and his works).

    There do exist two basic approaches towards the term ‘freedom’. The first one, is a general approach, related to an universal meaning of the term. The second one, is a particular approach, based on taking/heading for understanding of freedom in plural terms. Both approaches might, but not necessary do, exclude each other. An alternative takes an interpretation of particular freedoms, which simultaneously excludes the existence of a universal freedom (and the other way around). On the other hand, conjunction, i.e. the examination of a universal freedom on the basis of analysis of particular freedoms and/or reconstruction of the term “freedom” on the basis of interpretations and meanings given to particular freedoms. As a follower of the idea of conjunction of both approaches, I’m analyzing in this paper the theoretical connotations of this term such as: the feeling of freedom, its limitations, responsibility, tolerance, auto-creation and self-realization. This is being done for the reason to stress out the depth and the vastness of freedom, as well to let the potential reader reconstruct it.

    The aim of this article is to analyse the attitude towards the linguistic norm of the first-year students of Romance Philology in Warsaw through the auto-narration. By this tool, belonging to the qualitative methodology, the learner performs a retrospective introspection and thus ‘evaluates’ the learning, in our context – his learning of grammar. The stories of students-future philologists will be analysed according to the following aspects: the importance given to the linguistic norm (understood here as the need for grammatical correction), the perception of its ‘utility’ in relation to other competences and language subsystems, the relationship between awareness of the norm and the effectiveness / quality of communication in a foreign language.

    Opis:
    The auto-documentary has a very short tradition in Polish cinema. The first films of this type were produced in Poland in the 1990s, when students of the National Film School in Łódź started making short films about themselves. In my essay, I focus on one such film, Self(less) Portrait, made by Matej Bobrik in 2012. The film tells the story of two young people: she is from Japan; he is from Slovakia and is the film’s director. They both studied film directing at the NFS in Łódź, and now live together in Warsaw. In the film, Bobrik shows the difficult relationship that exists between the two characters and members of their families, who live far away. It is a story about closeness, endearment, loneliness and death. In Self(less) Portrait, seriousness, sadness and nostalgia meet with humour and the grotesque. The article concentrates on the construction of the film, and the use of symbolism and humor in it. This is an exceptional film in contemporary Polish cinema because Bobrik does not engage in self-therapy – he does not accuse or talk about traumatic experiences, as Marcin Koszałka or Paweł Jóźwiak-Rodan do in their auto-documentaries.

    The article presents a juxtaposition of the following two brilliant poems Tamten (from the collection of poems entitled Napój cienisty, 1936) and Kilkunastoletnia (from the collection of poems entitled Tutaj, 2009) that employ the same idea of an encounter with oneself – an adolescent person (in the former poem) and a teenage girl (in the latter). The poems exceed the literary convention of just a lyrical reminiscence of the past, they rather form a particular dialogue with the narrator as he/she was years ago, or even propose a kind of a confrontation. Both poems  indirectly feature reflections on the passing time and on the author’s identity. The poem written by Leśmian fits perfectly into his poetical system, both in terms of the introduction of metaphysical threads and the application of the elements of a love poem and in terms of the plot outline, somewhat reminiscent of his ballads. Szymborska’s poem also concurs with her own poetics mostly due to the characteristic subtle auto-irony.

    This paper deals with the discursive phenomenon of reflexivity in the epic poetryof South Slavic romantic poets around the middle of the 19th century. Reflection is here understood as a kind of poetic self-formation procedure of romantic literary subject and his efforts to renovate epic mode in its original form. Starting with concept of “epic Romanticism”, in a way specific to South Slavic literatures, the author proceeds by distinguishing basic modes: explicit, implicit, and intertextual reflexivity. While the first two are related to typical romantic affectivity (D. Demeter, F. Prešeren) and/or rhetoric identification with oral folk rhapsodists’ tradition (P. P. Njegoš), the third one is marked with so-called “integration story” (I. Mažuranić), or mise en abyme, i.e. “the mirror in the text” effect as a medium of artistic auto-perspectivization and possible creative invention which leads to indications of the early pro-modern poetic procedures.

    This paper aims to draw a connection between Jacques Derrida and Jean-Luc Marion in regard to the role of negative theology. This scrutiny shows meaningful contributions of the Authors to a new definition of subjectivity in a post-metaphysical age, and their consideration about which possibilities are still open for a non-predetermined history given outside of the presence domain. The future is neither a totalisation of history by its end, nor a simple continuation of the present. It is an eschatological event, where the relationship with the other plays a crucial role for the self-constitution. Such an interlacement is generated by the confession, where the link between past and future is not causally determined, but instead it is self-witness, as in Augustine’s masterpiece, essential reference for both the Authors

    The paper focuses on the essay “My Stumbling Speech in Kyiv” by Friedrich Dürrenmatt which hitherto has been on the sidelines of Dürrenmatt studies. The literary portrait of a well-known Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko as a cultural “Other” and the self-projection of the essay’s author have been analyzed here in their interrelations with various cultural and political contexts.

    The term “imagination” has numerous meaning: colloquial, paraliterary, scientific. They all refer to auto-communication, which is a conversation of an individual with him or herself, when our mind faculties: memory, intuition, observation, intelligence, knowledge – and imagination, too – compete for dominance or strive for harmonious cooperation. Similarly to the generally understood imagination, its particular, important species (literary imagination) requires internal classification, because it is always an imagination of role: of the author, the reader, the expert, the performer, the censor, the distributor, or sometimes of the translator. The question of translator’s and author’s status provokes a comparison between author’s and translator’s imagination: they share some qualities, but also have decidedly different ones. The opposition between created nature and creating nature, which is a notion used by Józef Czechowicz, might be helpful in capturing the similarities and differences. But this opposition, too, demands a literary and historical context. The author created by the romantic myth seems someone gifted with imagination creating literary worlds, which are limitless, whereas the author of realist works, especially diaries, must give priority to observation, when a piece of external, empirical reality is described and recorded. Baroque, romanticism, realism, expressionism, avant-garde, postmodernism differ in their canons of imagination. The creative process by the author of an original work becomes a negotiation between innovations of authorial fantasy and recreation of the canon. The translator is under much stronger pressure from his or her times, because his or her objectives and tasks are different. Usually, knowledge is enough for a translator: linguistic, historical, literary, common, encyclopaedic, specialised. If knowledge fails, the translator reaches out to imagination as an instrument for interpretation of source text, but this happens only when the text is ambiguous and rich in images. Be it as it may, the quality and range of translator’s activity are determined by someone else’s imagination, accumulated in the translated work, and present in its rhetorics.

    W esejach Jerzego Stempowskiego i Stanisława Vincenza znajdujemy opisy reliktów prastarej kultury rolniczej zagrożonej przez koczowników. W mitologii słowiańskiej są oni utożsamiani z takimi „katami Słowian” jak Árpád. W tożsamości europejskiej mieszczą się tradycja klasyczna i cywilizacja barbarzyńska. Ta ostatnia została nobilitowana w syntezie Karola Modzelewskiego pt. Barbarzyńska Europa, natomiast koczownictwo nadal pozostaje obcym elementem. W historiografii węgierskiej pierwszej połowy XX wieku powstała zaś pogłębiona refleksja na temat koczownictwa. Wybitny historyk, Tibor Joó (1901–1945), w monografii pt. Nacjonalizm węgierski (Magyar nacionalizmus, 1941) rekonstruował i interpretował na nowo zapomniane tradycje węgierskie.
    The essays of Jerzy Stempowski and Stanislaw Vincenz describe the reminiscences of the age-old agricultural cultures which have always been threatened by the nomadic people. In the Slavic mythology terms such as ”the executioners of the Slavs” have been identified with figures like Árpád. The ancient tradition and the barbaric civilization are part of the European tradition. The latter has been ennobled by Karol Modzelewski in his synthesis: Barbarian Europe, but the nomads still remain an alien element. The Hungarian historiography of the first half of the 20th century produced a deep reflection on nomadism. The eminent historian, Tibor Joó (1901-1945), reconstructed and reinterpreted the forgotten Hungarian traditions in his monograph: Hungarian Nationalism (1941).

    Over the years of working at school teachers gain experience that is necessary for their professional development. The teaching experience may appear of little value if teachers do not reflect upon it. Reflection is the key to success in teaching. The article presents the results of a questionnaire conducted with foreign language teachers from Gorzów Wielkopolski, Poland schools who were asked about their reflection. Many teachers (95%) reported that they reflected on their teaching and even made notes (50%). The research outcomes provide interesting facts about teachers’ reflections.

    The article is a reflection of how the work by Maria Komornicka (pen name Piotr Odmieniec Włast) was perceived in the past two decades on the basis of an analysis of a monograph by Edward Boniecki (1996), Izabela Filipiak (2006) and Brigitta Helbig-Mischewski (2010) in the context of changes in the interpretation of modern Polish literature. In the article, attention is drawn to three groups of issues which can only be identified on the basis of contemporary perception, incomplete as it is, due to the fact that all the works of Komornicka have not been published. The forms and meaning of broadly defined autobiographical writing has been re-defined, while Polish and regional literary modernism has been revised together with the involvement of literary researchers in the subject of their analyses. The author of the article suggests a schematic differentiation between updating, prospective and retrospective strategies in Komornicka’s work and a reflection on the indirect involvement in social and cultural discourses and discussions developed by contemporary researchers into Komornicka’s work.

    Autor článku chce především ukázat, jak jsou Češi obecně vnímáni a charakterizováni v okruhu popisované domény kinematografie. Vybral si pro účel tohoto příspěvku český komediální televizní seriál pojmenovaný Hospoda, ve kterém je hodně příkladů týkajících se autocharakteristiky vlastností českého etnika. Všechny uvedené českojazyčné příklady s vyprofilovaným „národnostním komponentem” jsou vážně brány současnou lingvistikou jako ukazatel stereotypu, který je pevně zakotven v kulturně jazykovém kódu. Ve většině analyzovaných příkladů všichni herci v tomto zaprezentovaném seriálu poukazovali na lidské vady a jejich nedokonalosti a právě díky nim si český divák (reprezentující příslušníky zmíněného národa) může své nedostatky lépe uvědomovat. 
    The author of this article above all wishes to show how the Czech are perceived and characterized within the described domain of cinematography. For the purpose of this article the author had chosen a Czech sitcom entitled Hospoda (The Inn), which contains numerous examples of self characteristics of the Czech ethnic group. All the Czech language examples with the highlighted „national component” placed here are treated by modern linguistics seriously as the stereotype coefficient, which is deep-set in cultural linguistic code. In most of the analyzed examples all the actors of the presented sitcom were able to accurately point human faults and imperfections. It is thanks to them that Czech audience (the representatives of the nation) are able to realize their shortcomings.
