    The issue of alcohol consumption, addiction to it, and causes and effects of this phenomenon have already been explored many times. The article describes current pedagogical and legal activities taken in Poland towards people addicted to alcohol and related controversy . The authors drew attention to a number of problems concerning with alcohol addiction for an alcohol abuse person and his family. Starting from the current law on upbringing in sobriety and counteracting alcoholism because it takes up issues related to treatment, rehabilitation and social reintegration of people addicted to alcohol. There are institutions established on its basis and take up actions aimed at diagnosing the problem of an individual’s addiction to alcohol, leading to a ruling and requiring the person addicted to alcohol to undergo treatment. In the article the stages of treatment have been described in detail, requriments, important person for example probation officer and possible to receive treatment from non-governmental organizations that help those addicted and thus create an option for those addicted to alcohol to self-organize. The authors emphasized that the process of freeing from alcohol addiction is incredibly difficult and sometimes prolonged. Thus, the compulsory character of rehab treatment sparks a lot of controversy, as it contradicts the right to self-determination, i.e. independent decision of the person addicted to take up the treatment. There is a need to search new solutions in this respect, develop tools that increase the effectiveness of activities taken towards those addicted and exchange experiences on the global scale.

    Uzależnienie jest chorobą wielowymiarową. Osoba zażywająca substancje psychoaktywne przeżywa wiele trudności intrapsychicznych, które motywują ją do podjęcia terapii odwykowej. Jednak w powstawaniu uzależnienia ważną rolę odgrywają relacje wewnątrzrodzinne. Analizując wiele przypadków pacjentów leczących się w Katolickim Ośrodku „Dom Nadziei” w Bytomiu, można określić swoisty model rodziny osoby uzależnionej. Terapia rodzin jest próbą analizy tego „patologicznego modelu”, a zarazem stwarza nową perspektywę, nową narrację funkcjonowania rodziny.
    Addiction is a multidimensional disease. A person who takes psychoactive substances experiences numerous intrapsychic difficulties which motivate him/her to seek drug therapy. It must be remembered, however, that intra-family relations play an important role in the formation of addiction. Based on case study of the patients undergoing treatment at the Catholic Centre “Home of Hope” in Bytom it is possible to define a specific model of an addict’s family. The therapy of families is an attempt to analyze this “pathological model”, but at the same time it opens a new perspective, a new narration of the family’s functioning.

    The profession of social work is dedicated to the betterment of society and to the protection of marginalized and vulnerable groups. The profession’s mission is detailed in the set of seven core values: service; social justice; dignity and work of the person; importance of human relationships; integrity; and competence. Relationships between people and among groups are the primary tools of social work assessment, intervention and evaluation. In the time of coronavirus and COVID-19, there are many challenges for professional practitioners to adhere to social work’s core values as well as to maintain their own health and welfare in a time of uncertain and rapidly changing situations. This paper will examine the challenges and innovations for each social work core value and present ideas for innovation and adaptation suited to these times. The paper will present challenges and innovations using examples of two community agencies providing services to people who are homeless and addicted. In summary we will offer some insights and expectations for the future of social work in the coming years, after this experience of coronavirus and COVID-19.

    Ego tango is the debut novel by a Belgian writer, Caroline de Mulder. In 2010, it won the most significant literary award in the country. The story is set in a closed circle of the Paris tango dancers. The present study examines the original narration of the novel and the construction of the plot, which are both subordinated to the introvert nature of the tango – a dance that becomes an addiction and an obsession. De Mulder’s text is an interesting example of a theoretical problem of the “correspondence of arts,” their mutual overlapping and co-dependence; in this particular case, literature and dance. This concerns both the music and the lyrics of the tangos, which constitute and integral component of the structure of the musical piece and determine the rhythm of the story being told, its atmosphere, mood and type of the relationship between the protagonists. The novel was inspired by the personal experience of the authoress – a tango dancer and was structured in accordance with the nature and the spirit of this dance.

    Żyjemy w czasach, w których łatwo dostrzec coraz większy wpływ telewizji, komputera i Internetu na życie człowieka, zwłaszcza na dzieci i młodzież. Niebezpiecznie zwiększa się ilość czasu spędzanego przez nie przed ekranem telewizora i komputera, co prowadzi często do uzależnienia od tych mediów (telemaniactwo, cyberzależność). Fenomen ten niesie ze sobą wiele reperkusji w procesie wychowawczym, gdy kształtuje się sumienie moralne oraz świat wartości. Stąd też pojawiają się nowe wyzwania przed rodzicami i wychowawcami, odpowiedzialnymi za prawidłowy przebieg personalizacji i socjalizacji ich dzieci. Komputer czy telewizja mają charakter ambiwalentny. Mogą służyć dobru, albo mogą degradować osobowo i moralnie. Wszystko zależy od człowieka (homo videns), który z tych mediów korzysta. Trzeba zatem podjąć wysiłek profilaktyki i uświadomienia, by dzieci i młodzież, poruszając się po wirtualnym świecie Internetu, gier i filmów, nie wyalienowały się ze świata realnego, potrafiły mądrze konsumować treści medialne i nie padły ofiarą ich negatywnego oddziaływania na życie.
    The increasing impact of television, computers and the internet on human life, especially on children and youth is quite obvious in our times. The amount of time they spend in front of the TV and computer screen is dangerously increasing, which often leads to media addiction (television addiction, cyber addiction). This phenomenon has many repercussions in the educational process, when moral conscience and the world of values are being shaped. Therefore, there are new challenges for parents and teachers who are responsible for a proper process of personalization and socialization of their children. Computer or television are ambivalent as they can serve good purposes or they can degrade a person morally and impair one's personality. It all depends on the man (homo videns) who uses the media. It is therefore necessary to make the effort of prevention and make children and youth aware, so that moving around the virtual world of the internet, games and movies would not alienate them from the real world but would give them a chance to wisely consume media content, and not fall victims to their negative impact on life.

    In this essay, we utilized the following scales: Mobile and Internet Addiction Test, Basic Psychological Needs Scale, Negative Coping Style Questionnaire, and Interpersonal Relationships Assessment Scale. With those, we surveyed 1,730 college students, investigating the influence of mobile phone addiction on their interpersonal relationship distress and the mediating chain effect of basic psychological needs and negative coping styles on mobile phone addiction and interpersonal relationship distress. The results indicate that: (1) Mobile phone addiction can predict interpersonal relationship distress in college students; (2) Basic psychological needs serve as the mediating variables between mobile phone addiction and interpersonal relationship distress; (3) Negative coping styles prove to be the mediator between mobile phone addiction and interpersonal relationship distress; and (4) Basic psychological needs and negative coping styles establish a mediating chain effect between mobile phone addiction and interpersonal relationship distress.

    The aim of this article is to analyze the contexts of teaching in the film „Suicide room”. At the outset they presented examples of the role of film in education. Subsequently was presented story of the film. An essential part of the article states while presenting the meanings of pedagogy we could see in the film. First of all, „Suicide Room” is a film whose story is firmly anchored in the contemporary world entangled in the net, with particular emphasis on two phenomena: cyberbullying and addiction to the virtual world. The film Suicide Room is also an interesting picture of the family. Also in the subjective reception, it is a film about loneliness and lost in the harsh reality of the modern world. This is an interesting picture being a prelude to multi-context discussion of the condition of individuals, families and generations living in the postmodern society.

    Increasingly, many confessors are confronted with penitents who have become involved with pornography.  This article provides some statistics illustrating the scope of pornography and then analyzes the harm that pornography causes, both to the dignity of the human person and in relation to the virtues of chastity and justice.  The article invites confessors to help penitents understand that involvement with pornography is more than simply breaking a commandment, but rather affects a penitent’s capacity for self-giving and thus one’s authentic emotional and spiritual growth.  Confessors should guide penitents who struggle with this issue to cultivate the true vision of human love in place of the distorted image offered by pornographic material.  The confessor should be prepared to turn a penitent’s attention to effective spiritual remedies as well as in some cases suggesting a penitent seek professional assistance so that the authentic image of God may be restored and the penitent be helped to attain true freedom from the vice of pornography.

    The pages of this publication attempt to take into account various factors that may affect the state of inebriation or intoxication of man. States depriving individual impact on their own action were also presented in the field of drug use high-grade products, as well as the capacity reduction that recognise the importance of the act or direct proceedings under their influence was predicted. Stressors were classified according to their severity in relation to the issue of the article. Mental disorders were listed that appear in response to a traumatic event. Symptoms of acute stress and its relationship with the person’s behaviour were shown. It highlighted the doubts that arise on particular issues. The possibility of settlement was signalled. At the conclusions, explored issues were summarized.

    Cyberspace may serve a good purpose, but may also be a serious threat. Navigating cyberspace makes acquiring knowledge and skills superficial. The intensity of the brain’s activity and the readiness to memorize are reduced as memory is relieved on account of using digital media. One of the major threats in the network is cyberbullying. The Internet quite commonly features aggression, or behavior intended to cause pain and suffering, which takes both verbal and hidden forms. Moreover, the Internet is a tool of sects, which recruit new members through the network. Cyberspace addiction may lead to many psychological consequences as well. At present, protecting our data, which we use to move around in cyberspace turns out to pose a huge threat. Each user of these services is entitled to the “right to oblivion,” which is not respected. The paper addresses a wide range of issues related to the dangers of being in cyberspace.
    L’utilisation du Web peut servir à de bonnes fins, mais aussi représenterune réelle menace. Naviguer sur la Toile a pour conséquence de rendre superficielle l’assimilation des informations, et les connaissances en général. La perte d’intensité du travail cérébral et de l’efficacité de la mémoire est due au fait que nous soulageons trop celle-ci de son travail en utilisant des médias numériques. L’une des plus importante menace du réseau est la cyber-violence. L’agressivité sur Internet est un phénomène très courant; c’est un comportement qui a pour seul objectif la douleur et la souffrance. Elle apparaît sous forme verbale ou de façon cachée. De plus, Internet est devenu un nouvel outil pour les sectes, qui se servent du réseau pour recruter de nouveaux membres. La dépendance à Internet peut aboutir à de nombreuses conséquences aussi bien psychologiques que physiologiques. Mais actuellement, la plus grande menace se trouve dans la protection de nos données, que nous devons utiliser pour surfer sur le Web. Chaque internaute possède un «droit à l’oubli», qui n’est pas respecté. Cet article soulève donc toutes sortes de questions relatives aux dangers que représente Internet.
    Korzystanie z cyberprzestrzeni może służyć dobrym celom, ale także być poważnym zagrożeniem. Poruszanie się w cyberprzestrzeni powoduje, że przyswajane wiadomości, jak i umiejętności są tylko powierzchowne. Zmniejszenie intensywności pracy mózgu oraz zatracanie gotowości do zapamiętywania jest spowodowane odciążaniem pamięci poprzez wykorzystywanie cyfrowych mediów. Jednym z poważniejszych zagrożeń w sieci jest cyberprzemoc. W Internecie dość częstym zjawiskiem jest agresja, czyli zachowanie, które ma sprawiać ból i cierpienie. Pojawia się w formie słownej, jak i ukrytej. Poza tym Internet staje się narzędziem sekt, które poprzez sieć werbują nowych członków. Uzależnienie od cyberprzestrzeni może prowadzić do wielu konsekwencji psychologicznych, jak i fizjologicznych. Obecnie dużym zagrożeniem okazuje się być sama ochrona naszych danych, których używać musimy do poruszania się w cyberprzestrzeni. Każdemu użytkownikowi tej sfery przysługuje wszak tzw. „prawo do zapomnienia”, które nie jest respektowane. Artykuł porusza więc wszelkiego rodzaju kwestie, odnoszące się do zagrożeń wynikających z przebywania w cyberprzestrzeni.

    The article concerns the child from an alcoholic family in a pre-school environment. The author presents a theoretical introduction on definitions important for understanding the subject, then addresses the subject of social pathology as a factor disturbing the durability of the family system. The topic of social roles in the alcoholic family and their impact on the child’s socialization process continue to arouse interest. Another issue raised in the article is the topic of co-dependence, starting from the general definition and understanding of the concept and ending with the impact of this phenomenon on the child’s functioning. The issue analyzed and reflected is as follows: a child from an alcoholic family as a student – in particular in relationships with teachers and peers. The author reflected moreover on the possible difficulties a child in a pathological family may encounter in the school environment, as well as on suggested practical solutions and a support network that may help the individual and its immediate environment to fight against difficulties and to motivate change. The article has an introduction and ending, which aptly sums up the issues dealt with.

    As statistics in Poland show, more and more younger people reach for alcohol and, what is more, they struggle to control their drinking. This often leads to a number of serious consequences for all health, economic, psychological, and social ones. They include beatings, injuries, loss of material property or even conflict with the law. Uncontrolled chemical intoxication may even lead to the long-term consequences which is e.g. addiction to alcohol. In some countries, they apply a form of assistance to people drinking in a risky way, and not only to them, which is aimed at the acquisition of skills for controlling alcohol consumption. There are used a number of methods and progressive stages of dealing with the client, so that he or she would learn controlled drinking. Therefore, not only this article briefly presents the causes and mechanisms of addiction resulting in the wide range of consequences, but also is the proposal for a strategy of assistance for young adults focused on the acquisition of skills in controlling the use of alcohol, as well as shows the results of the effectiveness of this form of assistance in some countries in the world.

From an analysis of the statements of ancient authors it follows that they were not absolute enemies of wine drinking and claimed that as God’s gift wine could give people joy and warm up the organism. It can therefore without much fear be drunk by the elderly whose desires are curbed by age and reason. The young, however, should be aware of the many dangers entailed by the abuse of alcohol. Drunkenness, according to the teaching of St. Paul, is classified as grave sin. In the opinion of the Fathers drunkards cannot control their emotions and passions and this leads them to neglect their families and draw away from God. For this reason ancient preachers address those who abuse alcohol with words of encouragement to take up struggle against the addiction and in this way take care of the salvation of their souls. In their efforts to free themselves from their addiction they should be supported by those closest to them.

    The article discusses the evaluative and vague characteristics used in the descriptions of the various types of offences in the context of the nullum crimen sine lege certa principle. The analysis of these characteristics was conducted on the grounds of the provisions of the Act on Preventing Drug Addiction in terms of the so-called allowable span and freedom of decision left for the authorities applying the law. The results of this analysis indicate that often enough the use by the legislature of the evaluative characteristics strains the principle of nullum crimen sine lege certa. The article also raises the issue of the possibility of proving in a criminal trial that the offender’s conduct has fulfilled some specific characteristics of an offence. The subjectivity principle in criminal law in the context of evaluative characteristics has also been discussed. In conclusions, a possible solution to the problem of evaluative characteristics used in the provisions of the Act on Preventing Drug Addiction is proposed.
    Artykuł porusza problematykę ocennych i nieostrych znamion używanych w opisach różnych typów czynów zabronionych w kontekście gwarancyjnej funkcji prawa karnego i zasady nullum crimen sine lege certa. Analiza charakteru tych znamion została przeprowadzona w oparciu o przepisy ustawy o przeciwdziałaniu narkomanii pod kątem dopuszczalnej rozpiętości tzw. pasa nieostrości i luzu decyzyjnego pozostawionego organom stosującym prawo. Wyniki tej analizy wskazują, że niejednokrotnie posłużenie się przez ustawodawcę znamionami ocennymi nadwyręża zasadę nullum crimen sine lege certa. W artykule poruszona została również kwestia możliwości udowodnienia w procesie karnym realizacji przez sprawcę poszczególnych znamion czynu zabronionego oraz problematyka zasady subiektywizmu prawa karnego na tle znamion ocennych. W konkluzji autorka proponuje możliwe rozwiązania problemu znamion ocennych użytych w przepisach ustawy o przeciwdziałaniu narkomanii.

Autor niniejszego artykułu prezentuje ten temat w szerokim kontekście współczesnej psychologii, pedagogiki i innych dyscyplin wiedzy zajmujących się ludzką egzystencją. Moralny wymiar masturbacji musi być rozpatrywany świetle problematyki ludzkiego bycia, ponieważ tylko w takiej perspektywie można stworzyć uzasadnioną opinię o tej delikatnej kwestii.
    Masturbation is still a controversial issue among researchers. The author shows that modern psychology, pedagogy and other disciplines dealing with the human being try to perceive masturbation in a wider, anthropological context. Therefore, moral assessment of masturbation has to based on a comprehensive approach to the human being, because only in such a perspective one can form justifiable judgments on such delicate matters.
