The aim of our paper is twofold. Firstly, very original approach to the question of victims elaborated very thoroughly by Reyes Mate is presented. Unfortunately, his conceptualization of victimology is relatively little known outside Spanish and Latin American culture. It is meant as a basis for adequate theory of injustice and justice. Secondly, comprehensive and detailed metaethical analyses of fundamental concepts used by Reyes Mate are developed here by means of standard methods, i.e. triangle, hexagon, and octagon of logical oppositions.

This paper sets out to outline the singular nature of the dimension of anthropology of freedom in the philosophies of Jean-Paul Sartre and Emmanuel Lévinas, the leading existentialists of the 20th century. It seems that the phenomenon of human freedom, one of the fundamental issues in philosophical anthropology, in particular in the humanist reflection, proves to be problematic when one seeks to elucidate it without ambiguity. This becomes even more difficult given that it prompts further momentous intellectual quandaries, mostly those concerned with the nature of the meaning of existence itself. The concepts advanced by Sartre and Lévinas – although they represent different visions of the human – undoubtedly provide much philosophical inspirationfor all kinds of reflection on the vital issue of freedom.

The paper contains a phenomenological and theoretical analysis of responsibility treated as the capacity of personal causation (taking the role of the cause of one’s actions) based upon conscious awareness and self-detachment from the immediate stream of one’s living. The manifestations of the lack of responsibility are the failure to manage one’s actions in the face of multiple forces majeures, incontinence ofimmediate wishes and impulses, or rigid hypercontrol over these impulses. Special sections are devoted to interrelations between responsibility and freedom, especially in the developmental aspect, and responsibility for another person.

The article analyzes three categories: co-existence, co-responsibility and interdependence in the context of contemporary discussions about the role of social pedagogy in building local communities. New possible approaches arise while using these concepts for addressing contemporary conditions of the communities which result in new tasks of education. There are analysed also the consequences of the transformation from the previous rather static (territorial) view of local communities, that had the aim to root people in existing social structures, towards more dynamic, open and diverse spaces. They are not considered only as physical places anymore but as new local relations that are being developed, based on not stable, however increasingly popular forms of sharing experiences. For these changes the studied concepts match the new realities and in consequence demand pedagogical considerations.

The article is devoted to the story The Schizophrenic Gospel by Bohumil Hrabal and a little-known interpretation of this prose bythe famous Polish philosopher and theologian Józef Tischner. Plato, Hegel, Berkeley, Heidegger: these four names in Tischner‘s work lead to Hrabal‘s thinking and his gospel. The philosopher discusses in detail the specific perception of reality which according to him is transformed into a phenomenon or image of reality in Hrabal‘s prose, and as such acquires the same status as the reality of a dream. This approach can be combined with surrealism and phenomenology. Philosophy and literature evaluate the most phenomena irreversibly and undeniably; recurring events and events that do not involve visible changes or consequences are usually neglected. They do not require answers, so they do not mean responsibility. Hrabal writes about such aworld “outside the principle of responsibility“ in his Gospel, and Tischner in his interpretation.

Celem opracowania jest wskazanie i omówienie relacji materii i ducha w perspektywie odpowiedzialnego dialogu człowieka – techniki i środowiska w świetle ostatniej encykliki papieża Franciszka. Na marginesie wywodu toczy się dyskusja o zależnościach antropocentryzmu, ekocentryzmu i biocentryzmu. Franciszek, podejmując temat kondycji osoby ludzkiej, swoje ustalenia opiera na diagnozie współczesności, nawiązując zarówno do troski wyrażanej przez poprzednich papieży, Magisterium Kościoła, ale również sięga do prac badaczy spoza kręgów kościelnych. Wszystkich łączy troska o człowieka i przyszłe pokolenia. Różnice powstają w ocenie determinantów tego obrazu, działań niezbędnych do podjęcia celem poprawy sytuacji oraz roli i miejsca człowieka w tym planie.
The aim of the study is to identify and discuss the relationship of matter and spirit in the perspective of a responsible human dialogue – technology and environment in the light of the recent encyclical of Pope Francis. On the margins of an argument there is a discussion on dependences of anthropocentrism, eco-centrism and biocentrism. Francis taking on the condition of the human person, bases his findings on the diagnosis of modernity, referring both to the concern expressed by previous popes, Magisterium of the Church, but also analyses findings of researchers from outside ecclesial circles. All share the common concern for man and future generations. The differences arise in the evaluation of the determinants of this image, actions needed to improve the situation and the role and place of man in this plan.

The family represents a fundamental social unit, consisting of individuals connected by marital and parental bonds. The relations between family members are determined by traditions handed down by means of upbringing, which, in turn, is based on shared emotions and attitudes subjected to the laws and moral order of nature. The prerogatives recognised by the family are also heavily affected by religious axioms. Generally speaking, the family represents the cultural legacy of whole generations falling under the influence of numerous factors, each of them being a link in the family’s history. The analysis of the function of the family as a fundamental social group and of parental responsibility indicates that the functions of the family are more extensive than the functions of parental responsibility. This is because the functions of the family are fulfilled by all its members, adults and minors alike. Those functions performed by adult family members are subject to a number of norms included in the Family and Guardianship Code. However, the family’s desired performance positively affects fulfilment of parental responsibility.

There do exist two basic approaches towards the term ‘freedom’. The first one, is a general approach, related to an universal meaning of the term. The second one, is a particular approach, based on taking/heading for understanding of freedom in plural terms. Both approaches might, but not necessary do, exclude each other. An alternative takes an interpretation of particular freedoms, which simultaneously excludes the existence of a universal freedom (and the other way around). On the other hand, conjunction, i.e. the examination of a universal freedom on the basis of analysis of particular freedoms and/or reconstruction of the term “freedom” on the basis of interpretations and meanings given to particular freedoms. As a follower of the idea of conjunction of both approaches, I’m analyzing in this paper the theoretical connotations of this term such as: the feeling of freedom, its limitations, responsibility, tolerance, auto-creation and self-realization. This is being done for the reason to stress out the depth and the vastness of freedom, as well to let the potential reader reconstruct it.

The problem of responsibility became, particularly in the second half of the twentieth century, one of the most important subjects of philosophical reflection. Many thinkers, including Martin Heidegger, Emmanuel Lévinas, Karl Jaspers and Hans Jonas, expressed their views about it. The evil of totalitarian systems became the main experience triggering discussion about responsibility. The reflection included in Hannah Arendt’s works is an important voice in the debate and it remains up-to-date despite the passage of time. Arendt demonstrated the multidimensional and dramatic character of responsibility by presenting the meanings of vita contemplativa and vita activa in reference to every person’s existence. The thinker was searching for the answer to the question about the essence of responsibility. Today, she still introduces the readers of her works and the listeners of numerous interviews she gave to a more profound understanding of responsibility-related experiences. In my humble opinion, the greatest value of philosophical interpretation of Hannah Arendt’s works is the fact that they still remain constructive reflections. Their influence is not limited to shaping one’s mind only. It goes deeper and develops our attitudes, including the attitude to properly understood responsibility.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has become an indispensable element of corporate communication. Engagement in social initiatives enables companies to stabilise their positive image, present their values and communicate with stakeholders. Although in recent years the LGBT community has more and more frequently been the addressee of such corporate actions, this theme has rarely been explored by scholars. The present paper aims to investigate how corporate initiatives related to CSR are communicated to the LGBT community as one of the corporate stakeholders. Due to the scarcity of subsequent research, the current qualitative study is of an explorative character and has taken the form of a case study. Three brands renown for addressing the LGBT community, i.e. Ben and Jerry’s, Levi’s and Absolut Vodka, have been selected for the study, which analyses the relevant communication practices. The study primarily aims to specify the image of the LBGT community emerging from the campaigns analysed and to identify the communication channels and tools applied. Additionally, it also attempts to scrutinise the outcomes of these activities and their impact on corporate reputation as well as the perception of the LGBT community in a wider social context.

In her writing, Vera Feyder, representative of the tribe called by the historians of Belgian iterature generation of identity, the question of identity is inextricably linked with the experience of World War II. The memory of childhood marked by the martyrdom of his father and the deep misery and loneliness, in which the author and his mother lived in the wartime, decide on the content and meaning of her writing. A sense of responsibility for other people, all resistance to the injustice, disagreement with indifference, memory of the past – it is a kind of code, which, according to Feyder, should apply a modern writer.

Deprivation of an entity of acquired rights deriving from an administrative act is possible through the combined application of administrative provisions of substantive and procedural law. The limits of durability acquired under an administrative decision rights are the constitutional principle of the protection of acquired rights and the general principles of administrative procedure. The permanence of the right acquired by the administrative decision is not absolute. Repeal or change of the administrative decision is possible only in the mode provided in the law, since the administrative decision makes use of the presumption of regularity. The deprivation of administrative and legal powers in the area of public law takes place in the context of an assessment of the implementation of an administrative decision carried out by a state body. This assessment is possible with the use of two procedural institutions for the expiry of an administrative decision and a substantive institution for the withdrawal of rights. The body assesses whether the addressee of an administrative act has implemented the administrative decision not only in accordance with its content but also the provisions of the generally applicable law. The deprivation of a party of an acquired right is often accompanied by the need to award damages (grant compensation). The procedure and premises for claiming compensation liability have been regulated in the provisions of substantive administrative law. The principle of the effectiveness of public administration bodies is one of the basic principles of administrative law. Its application is not limited only to the creation of law, but also includes the application of law by public administration bodies. The problem of the efficiency of operations of state bodies is of particular importance not only in the area of enforceability of an administrative decision, but also its authorising function. The efficiency of operations of entities in the State structure is assessed through the prism of the implementation of a given administrative decision.

The paper assumes that fear presents a certain degree of ambivalence. To say it with Hans Jonas (1903-1993), fear is not only a negative emotion, but may teach us something very important: we recognize what is relevant when we perceive that it is at stake. Under this respect, fear may be assumed as a guide to responsibility, a virtue that is becoming increasingly important, because of the role played by human technology in the current ecological crisis. Secondly, fear and responsibility concern both dimensions of human action: private-individual and publiccollective. What the ‘heuristics of fear’ teaches us, is to become aware of a deeper ambivalence, namely the one which characterizes as such human freedom, which may aim to good or bad, to self preservation or self-destruction. Any public discussion concerning political or economic issues related with human action (at an individual or collective level) ought not to leave this essential idea out of consideration.
