Opis:
This paper shows the manifold aspects of the non-translation phenomenon : besides shortened and summarized versions, which alter the source text in a quantitative way, non-translation can also have a qualitative effect, for instance when sociocultural references are erased. If non-translation is an infringement of the translator's duties, in some cases it can be a very fruitful solution. There is a lack of literature on the subject, and although it is often mentioned briefly, this phenomenon has never been tackled seriously.

Opis:
The article presents the thought of Father Dumitru Staniloae ( t 1993), one of the most outstanding Romanian theologians of the 20th century, based on his book Poztia d-lui Lucian Blaga fata de Crestinism si Ortodoxie (The Attitude of Mr. Lucian Blaga toward Christianity and Orthodoxy) Sibiu, 1942. The author begins by expounding the general character of the universal religious phenomenon. Beyond the multiplicity of the forms and the ways in which religion is manifested there are certain common points. Fr. Staniloae distinguishes five such specific elements typical for religion: 1. a strong and steadfast faith in the truth of the things it professes; 2. the personal character of the ultimate reality; 3. there is a certain differentiation a believer makes between these ultimate realities with a clear and less clear personal character and nature - even though sometimes the divine reality is perceived in an extremely intimate relationship with nature, each religion preserves an awareness that the divine reality is something else than nature itself; 4. the belief in the self-revelation of the divine reality - it is a universal conviction with the believers of all religions that the Divinity revealed and reveals Itself and the data about It are not a figment of the human mind or imagination, a self-revelation of the human spirit; 5. a certain expectance, confidence and hope with which man ties himself up to the Divinity in as far as his destiny is concerned. The universal human consciousness expects and believes in man’s salvation from under the destructive power of nature or of certain evil forces. Expectation is a deep instinct of the human nature; faith is the mysterious power given to man at the same time with any religion. There is also a functional interpenetration of these elements. Faith without a personal God and without revelation cannot exist, nor without the presence of a purpose, as that of the salvation of existence. Their persistence reveals the existence of a personal relationship between God and man in the interest of his salvation, as well as man’s firm belief in the possibility of a personal salvation and in a special communion with God and, as a result, that there is also an interest on the part of God to save man. Faith and revelation are conveyed from generation to generation, but at the same time faith is largely produced by revelation, each man experiencing in a mysterious way the pressure of the ultimate reality upon his conscience. All kinds of theories have been conceived which see religion as originating from the divinization of the forces of nature, society, or a political leader etc. In reality however religious experience distinguishes the divine from all these phenomena, even though it may have the experience of the divine presence and of its power in connection with them. Religious experience is an awareness of the mysterious presence of the Divinity and as such any religious man knows the difference. In the case of the religious phenomenon we come across a minimal realization and participation of the ultimate reality pertaining essentially to the faith in the Divinity, to its revelation and to the hope in a personal salvation as a common minimal background of all religions, and as such of the Christian Faith. Fr Staniloae draws our attention to the fact that what counts in the relation among religions is not this minimal background but the contribution of each religion. In his attempt to draw a line between Christianity and the other religions, he asserts that everything the non-Christian religions possess in addition, as a surplus, is either a jungle of myths, or a resuscitation in different manners of the same minimal background which make up the universal religious conviction. Myth is a human invention bom of his endeavour to capture in image the basic fact of the Divinity and of Its revelation; hence a poetic and personalized expression of what is known through the general revelation, or a personalization of a power in nature or of a personal attribute. Christianity differs radically from these religions, because by the surplus it asserts, it testifies to an essential increase in the divine revelation. We have in Christianity the full revelation of the Divinity, as well as the manifestation of Its personal character as God has come as a man among men. Christianity is an entirely different religion in so far as the awareness of the nearness of the divine reality is concerned, as the only religion dominated by the awareness of an increase - to the last possible extent - in the divine revelation, without imposing a new element to the general definition of religion. Moreover, Christianity is not a religion of myths. This is due to the fact that God’s presence in the world, as a perceptible and active reality, renders futile all myths: when the divine reality is so close to us and so commanding, there is no longer any place for myths. At the same time there is no attitude which embraces all parts of the Universe with so much love and appreciation as does Christianity, because all are the work of the hands God and the object of His fatherly care.

Body in Serbian Hagiographic Literature) by Smilja Marjanović-Dušanić. Dedicated to a wide professional and non-professional audience, the book in question is a significant scientific work since it refers not only to the historical, but also to the anthropological and culturological description related to the activity of decoding of such essential socio-cultural category like body. Considered as a highly complex phenomenon, body is a sign generated by the realm of various traditions and discourses which render different cultural modes or primary and secondary contexts; it might be also conceived as a distinctive signature of given time-space, community and cultural system. It will not be an exaggeration to say that the dissertation is an extremely interesting and indeed outstanding study of the subject which impresses with its high cognitive value and research rank. What is more, it offers a serious and objective view of the convoluted and multidimensional cultural phenomenon and identity construct.

Some European nations and countries stayed in the area of totalitarianism for a long time. This fact and various ways of transforming and self-identity in a totalitarian society require careful studying in a broad scientific spectrum. Studying of the dissident movement is one of the important aspects of this multifaceted research topic. Resistance movement against totalitarianism in the second half of the twentieth century on the territory of Ukraine is closely linked with the concept of Ukrainian sixties. The place and understanding of the role in the cultural and political opposition to totalitarianism, features and images of the sixties are considered through memoir texts as social, political and aesthetic phenomenon of sixties. Self-reception of representatives of the rebellious generation gives the important information about forms and manifestations of resistance for understanding the phenomenon of the sixties, its place in the spiritual coordinates of the twentieth century.

Conclusions are drawn regarding the reasons for such a strategy. The prose by Shipov, though aimed at finding God’s presence in the world, is stylistically and problematically associated with secular and social literature. It motivates the reader to do self-meditation and intellectual work based on the influence of suggestion.

The aim of the article is to identify the place of the sharing phenomenon in the concept of sustainable development. Thus far, attempts to address the sharing phenomenon are very rarely connected with the concept of sustainable development. According to the author, considerations in this area should be based on the theory of sustainable economic development. This would be the best starting point for juxtaposing the sharing phenomenon with the classic conception of the market and its key concepts, such as homo oeconomicus.

Poprzedził go film dokumentalny A czego tu się bać? (2006), który ukazał stosunek społeczności wiejskiej do problemu śmierci i zmarłych. W filmie 33 sceny z życia przedstawiono inny rodzaj doświadczania śmierci i żałoby. – dialektem wiejskim z odniesieniami do języka religijnego. Celem prezentowanego artykułu jest analiza języka filmu i języka w filmie.
The film 33 Scenes from the Life by Małgorzata Szumowska (2008) is an autobiographical film, inspired by real incidents which happened in her life – the almost simultaneous death of her mother (a writer Dorota Terakowska) and father (a documentary film-maker Maciej Szumowski). It was preceded by a documentary film A czego się tu bać? (What to be afraid of?) (2006), which showed the attitude of the rural community to the problem of death and the deceased. In the film 33 Scenes another kind of experience of death and mourning is represented. It is the urban and atheistic version, a mockery of the rituals connected with the death (the anointing of the sick and a funeral). Their disparity is determined not only by their religious versus atheistic character, but also, most importantly, the language. In 33 Scenes the idiolect of the Cracovian intelligentsia is used, with numerous vulgarisms, whereas in the documentary film A czego tu się bać? − the village idiolect with references to religious language. The aim of my essay is the analysis of the film language and the language in the film.

The phenomenon of pretence in the Polish educational system of the person with profound intellectual and multiple disabilities (PIMD) will be analized in the context of sociological concept of pretence by Jan Lutynski (1990). The subject of the study was the educational reality of the person with PIMD. Two main questions were formulated. What is the educational reality of the person with PIMD in the micro- and macrosystem context? What is happening in this educational reality? The study was conducted in interpretative paradigm based on quantitative research model using instrumental group case study. The subjects of the study were the people with PIMD (15) and school staff (57). During the study participant observertion, quantitaive deepened interview were used. The symptoms of pretence in education of the person with PIMD on the nmacrosystem level were visible in the form of inconsistencies in the legal acts regulating the course of education. On the microsystem level the manifestation of the pretence was the phenomenon of the “empty minutes” (i.e. time at school not used for the benefit of the person’s development). The results of the study on the macrosystem level suggest lack of the transparency of the legal acts. On the microsystem level the need of developing applicable standards in education of the people with PIMD.

Ma on prowadzić do poznania fenomenu miłości odkrywanego najpełniej w relacji małżeńskiej. Dlatego pytanie o ślub kościelny pozostaje aktualne.
Despite many conflicting facts, young people today still consider family as one of the most important values, at least at the level of declarations. Immediacy training which is offered to people by the era of post-modernism is not conducive to preparing for marriage. This makes young people evade marriage. In preparation for the marriage as a way of life, it is important to work on oneself which leads to an increasingly mature personality. In today's world it is necessary to attach new value to the period of engagement, give it the original meaning as an essential developmental stage. It is supposed to lead to the understanding of the phenomenon of love. Therefore, the question of church wedding remains valid.

Opis:
The article presented above is an attempt to philosophically re-interpret a famous play Dybbuk of S. An-sky (S. Z. Rapoport), by searching the drama’s real origins: the thought of the Jewish Kabbalah, reborn on Polish lands in the 18th century thanks to the founders of Hassidism. The Lurianic theosophy and theurgy, as well as the Kabbalistic epistemological assumptions – connected with the possibility of perceiv-ing reality in its different dimensions – form, as it seems, the basis of the play’s plot. There can also easily be found in Ansky’s drama many other Kabbalistic doctrines and legends, for exam-ple, the belief both in the soul transgression and the divine origin of evil, gematria, magical ritu-als (the practical Kabbalah). On the other hand, the structural dominant of Rapoport’s text is an exclusively Hassidic concept of a dybbuk, i. e. the soul of a dead person, who exists ‘between worlds’, in another person’s body. In the article, the connection between the Kabbalistic thought and the philosophy of Plato and that of Neoplatonist thinkers is also demonstrated.
