    The article attempts to determine the usefulness of the concept of resourcefulness for research in the field of social history of the People’s Republic of Poland. On the basis of examples concerning problems with provisions, housing, professional work and retirement benefits, an analysis of specific issues was made, where this resourcefulness manifested itself particularly intensively. The research shows that in many cases it was pathological. It meant a strategy of behavior consisting in achieving the assumed goals by individuals or various groups of people using means that are in conflict with the norms, rules, procedures accepted as appropriate in a given political and socio-economic order.

    This text deals with youth subcultures from the point of view of social pedagogy. Text introduces the basic terms such as culture, the dominant culture, subculture and counterculture and alternative culture. Furthermore there is analyzed the concept of subculture youth as well as the concept of lifestyle. A di erence between modern and postmodern approach to subcultures is also mentioned. Furthermore there is described the relationship between youth subcultures and social pedagogy, which is one of the disciplines that are devoted to youth subcultures. The nal part of the text brie y discusses selected youth subcultures in the Czech Republic and the negative manifestation of these subcultures.

    The article concerns the child from an alcoholic family in a pre-school environment. The author presents a theoretical introduction on definitions important for understanding the subject, then addresses the subject of social pathology as a factor disturbing the durability of the family system. The topic of social roles in the alcoholic family and their impact on the child’s socialization process continue to arouse interest. Another issue raised in the article is the topic of co-dependence, starting from the general definition and understanding of the concept and ending with the impact of this phenomenon on the child’s functioning. The issue analyzed and reflected is as follows: a child from an alcoholic family as a student – in particular in relationships with teachers and peers. The author reflected moreover on the possible difficulties a child in a pathological family may encounter in the school environment, as well as on suggested practical solutions and a support network that may help the individual and its immediate environment to fight against difficulties and to motivate change. The article has an introduction and ending, which aptly sums up the issues dealt with.

    Popular culture texts, including films, can be an area of research reflection, e.g. in terms of social phenomena, interpersonal relations, and the interpretation of social roles. The article analyzes the content of selected films by Alfred Hitchcock. The aim of the study was to verify the presentation of the mother-child relationship and the role of the mother. For this purpose, research questions were posed: What image of the mother is presented in Alfred Hitchcock’s films, what are the characteristics of the mother in Alfred Hitchcock’s films, what are the similarities between the image of mother presented by Alfred Hitchcock and socially expected features, what are the differences between the mother’s image presented by Alfred Hitchcock maternal image and socially expected traits? Theses have been developed to answer the above questions and have been verified. A thorough analysis led to conclusions which indicate that the role of the mother had pathological features; kind of pattern of negative traits that the film women took on crystallized. Based on the research, the author defined the role as a “Hitchcock mother type”.

    This article presents a review of the research conducted to date into the coexistence of malocclusions and phonation disorders, as well as the results of research conducted by the authors of the article. It is an attempt at providing answers to the following questions: are phonation disorders related to specific malocclusions, what specific phonation disorders accompany specific occlusal problems, does a single problem condition another occlusal problem?Detailed study of this subject will provide a concise compilation of knowledge for experts in many areas, including speech-language pathology, orthodontics, paediatrics, otolaryngology and phoniatrics. The article presents a specific approach to occlusion, namely from the speech-language pathology point of view. The authors have associated phonation disorders with specific malocclusions.Numerous clinical trials are necessary to investigate this phenomenon, to research the above mentioned dependence and identifying the relations between malocclusions and phonation disorders. The article presents the results of the research carried out by the authors together with results of surveys undertaken by professionals dealing with the impact of malocclusions on phonation disorders over the years.
