    Celem artykułu jest eksploracyjna analiza upamiętnień Floriana Znanieckiego obecnych w przestrzeni publicznej. Florian Znaniecki to twórca instytucjonalnej socjologii polskiej i jeden z przedstawicieli tzw. socjologii humanistycznej. Tekst przedstawia dokonania Znanieckiego, opisuje jego upamiętnienia w Warszawie, Poznaniu i Świątnikach oraz historię ich ustanowienia, a następnie analizuje te upamiętnienia przez pryzmat ich wpływu na pamięć społeczną. W badaniach posłużono się metodą analizy dokumentów. Badania umożliwiły wskazanie podstawowych uzasadnień stosowanych w upamiętnieniach Znanieckiego. Są to: działalność organizacyjna, działalność edukacyjna (w tym wychowawcza), międzynarodowe uznanie, związek z regionem lub miejscowością, dokonania metodologiczne, rola w nauce, pionierstwo naukowe, różnorodność dokonań naukowych.
    The aim of the article is to conduct an exploratory analysis of commemorations of Florian Znaniecki in public spaces. Florian Znaniecki was one of the founders of Polish institutional sociology and one of the representatives of humanistic sociology. The text briefly presents Znaniecki’s achievements, describes his commemorations in Warsaw, Poznań, and Świątniki, as well as the history of their establishment, and then analyses these commemorations from the perspective of their impact on social memory. The research was conducted using document analysis. The research identified basic justifications used in Znaniecki’s commemorations. These are: his organizational activity, educational activity, international recognition, connection with a region or place, methodological achievements, role in science, scientific pioneering, and the diversity of his scientific achievements.

    In this article the author argues for the rapprochement between the methods and questions of the history of historiography and the questionnaire of the sociology of knowledge. The sociological perspective can inspire both the research on the communities of professional historians and the functioning of the historiographical knowledge in social and political structures. The author analyzes diff erent dimensions of the political functions of historiography and emphasizes the diff erence between the utilitarian and scientific aspects of historical knowledge.

    Article analyses the case study of Luboń, a town of 30,000 people neighbouring Poznań. It addresses the issue of socio-spatial identity. The concept of the socio-spatial identity of a city is analysed on the basis of traditional conceptualisations but also with reference to a system theory, which makes it possible to look at the functioning of a city from its own perspective (the notion of „autopoiesis”). In addition to an understanding of the system, this curates a historical perspective in the analysis of contemporary urban functioning. The authors of the text ask three research questions: about the sense of connection to the city, about the place of the space of Luboń in the everyday practices of its inhabitants, and the ideas of the city’s inhabitants about themselves (self-image of a Luboń resident). The conclusions from the analysis of the empirical material are aimed at describing the barriers to the articulation of the identity of the city’s inhabitants inherent in the developmental characteristics of satellite towns in a specific social and institutional context. The study is based on a 3-year research project carried out at the Faculty of Sociology of Adam Mickiewicz University with the participation of students, as part of a student internship, in cooperation with a researcher from Poznań University of Economics and Business. The project involved two questionnaire surveys and qualitative research based on secondary data analyses, expert interviews and focus group interviews, and research walks between 2021 and 2022.

    Dziedziną, do której najczęściej odwołuje się badacz pamięci zbiorowej w ramach refleksji socjologicznej, jest niewątpliwie historia. Badania społeczne realizowane w ramach socjologii retrospekcji w celu pełnego wykorzystania możliwości oferowanych przez warsztat socjologiczny, wymagają znajomości odpowiedniego kontekstu historycznego. Punktem wyjścia dla rozważań nad tą problematyką jest analiza wzajemnych powiązań obu dziedzin nauki i proponowanych przez nie podejść metodologicznych do skomplikowanej materii pamięci zbiorowej. W niniejszym artykule podejmuję próbę wskazania szans i potencjalnych zagrożeń wynikających z łączenia perspektyw historii i socjologii. Staram się znaleźć odpowiedź na podstawowe pytania: w jakim stopniu refleksja historyczna bądź historiozoficzna może przydać się badaczowi pamięci rozumianej jako zjawisko społeczne? Na ile badania i refleksja historyczna może przyczynić się do wzbogacenia wniosków wyciągniętych z badań empirycznych? Czy historia dysponuje narzędziami, które badaczowi społecznemu mogą wskazać inną niż socjologiczna perspektywę spojrzenia na pamięć zbiorową?
    Trying to indicate the field of science to which collective memory researcher refers most frequently in his sociological reflection, it would be no doubt the history. It seems that the sociology of retrospection is an area of sociological studies, which without the proper knowledge of historical context can not fully exploit the opportunities offered by the sociological workshop. The starting point for consideration of this problem is the analysis of interconnections of the two fields of science and its methodological proposals to examine the complicated matter of collective memory. To identify opportunities and at least potential threats of combining scientific perspectives of sociology and history, this article attempts to answer some basic questions: to what extent the historical reflection (or more – historiosophical) may be useful for memory researcher?; how the history contributes to the enrichment and improvement of conclusions drawn from a variety of empirical attempts?; whether this area has an instrumentation that can indicate other than sociological perspective of looking at the collective remembering?

    This article expounds the rediscovered and unpublished manuscript by Father Franciszek Mirek God Christ and the People. A Sociological Study. Father Franciszek Mirek was the first Polish sociologist who was a member of the group of Florian Zaniecki’s students. The recovered manuscript offers an innovative look at the elements of the history of salvation seen through the eyes of a sociologist. The introduction to the paper presents the profile of Father Franciszek Mirek and his most important works. Further parts present the rediscovered manuscript of Fr. Mirek. On its basis the following issues are discussed: the Bible as a source of sociographic data, people as partners in relationship with Christ, the apogee of relations between God and a man in the mystery of the Incarnation of the Son of God and faith as a precondition of human communication with God Christ.

    W perspektywie socjologii prawa przeanalizowano, w jaki sposób wydarzenia historyczne pierwszej połowy XX wieku wpłynęły na kształt współczesnej praktyki prawniczej. Posługując się jakościowymi wywiadami pogłębionymi, zebrano spostrzeżenia doświadczonych polskich prawników, wielu praktykujących jeszcze w okresie Polskiej Rzeczpospolitej Ludowej czy w czasach transformacji lat 90. Ich świadectwa nie tylko rzucają światło na ewolucję sposobu pracy prawników, ale także podkreślają skomplikowaną relację między strukturami społecznymi a stosowaniem prawa dzisiaj i w przeszłości. Badanie ujawnia nierozerwalny związek między dawnymi warunkami społeczno-politycznymi a dzisiejszymi polskimi ramami prawnymi, etyką i praktyką prawników, podkreślając konieczność integrowania perspektywy socjologii prawa w nowoczesnej praktyce prawniczej.
    By employing the lens of the sociology of law, this research analyzes how the historical events in the first half of the 20th century have influenced the shape of contemporary Polish legal practise. By utilising qualitative in-depth interviews, insights were gathered from seasoned Polish legal professionals, many of whom had embarked on their careers in the period of People’s Republic of Poland or during the transformation in the 1990s. Their testimonies not only shed light on the evolution of the way lawyers’ work but they also emphasize the intricate interplay between societal structures and the application of law today and in the past. The study reveals an inextricable link between the socio-political context of the past and the present-day legal framework, ethics, and lawyers’ practice, thus highlighting the necessity of integrating the perspective of the sociology of law in modern legal practice.
