    The aim of the article is to show the interrelations between the works of Carl Gustav Jung and Fyodor Dostoyevsky with particular emphasis on the archetype  of shadow. The aforementioned archetype has been analyzed and characterized in the paper in order to interpret the novel Crime and Punishment in the psychoanalytical key. This category has been analyzed at the level of the structure and plot of the work. Consequently, the author of the present article attempts to interpret the functions of the main characters of Crime and Punishment and divides them into triads related to relevant Jungian archetypes. The research amounts to an incentive to further explore the Jungian traces in the works of Fyodor Dostoyevsky.

    The article is an attempt to interpret Nikolay Stavrogin, the main character  of Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s novel The Possessed, in the key of the analytical psychology. It is argued that Stavrogin may be undergoing the process of individuation by dealing with the collective unconscious. The attention is drawn particularly to the character of Matryosha, who can be perceived as the protagonist’s anima, showing him the way out of the tragic impasse.

    The paper aims at presenting an attempt to interpret a fragment of Dostoyevsky’s The Idiot. To analize the masterpiece of Russian writer we took an innovative category  – the word-vessel, which interdisciplinary concept we based on a function model  of Klein’s bottle, alchemical vessel, biblical vessels at Cana, ideas of metametaphor and insideout by Kedrov. Given category – in our opinion – presents to be the key to the new interpretation of one of the climax of the novel – the before-epileptic meeting of prince Myshkin and Rogozhin.

    The present article amounts to an attempt to analyze the work Axe is the name of mine by Alexander Dugin — a theorist of Eurasianism ideology in Russia. In this article Dugin touches upon the novel Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. Dugin analyzes the novel in the context of cultural opposition between the orthodox Russia and the secular Western Europe, whose symbol is the capital of the Russian Empire— Saint Petersburg. The city in this case is the negation of the orthodox tradition of Moscow — The Third Rome. Dugin extremely relativized the meaning of Dostoyevsky‘snovel.

    The article is an attempt to analyse the novels The Idiot by Fyodor Dostoyevsky and The Magic Mountain by Thomas Mann in the context of the category of illness. The author undertakes a comparison of the characters suffering from turberculosis: Hans Castorp and Ippolit Terentyev. It is claimed that in both of the works illness acquires the status of a value and opens before the characters a path to self-knowledge. However, while Castorp’s illness develops in comfortable conditions and he finally decides to cease his fascination with death, for the terminally ill Terentyev it is far too late to fight for his life. For this reason, the sacralisation of death is alien to Dostoyevsky’s character. In his case, death can be perceived as the Lacanian Real that interrupts the self-narrative. The noted phenomenon can be attributed to Dostoevsky’s maximalism that urges the Russian novelist to bring the disease to the limits, and take it out of control. Mann, in turn, portrays the disease as a kind of safety valve, keeping the fascination with the dark sides of life in a healthy framework.

    The aim of this article is to show the undeniable influence of Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s artistic method on Yuri Mamlejev’s literary works in particular in relation to his novel The Other. Relying on these determinants of fantastic realism, which for many researchers are referred to as the most significant elements of Dostoyevsky’s artistic method, we make an attempt to show that the carnival which combines the two orders in the works of the 19th century writer: the real (scientific) and the surreal (magic), makes the fantasy become an integral part of the surrounding space. Simultaneously the concept of fiction should be understood through such categories as: paradoxicality, iconicity, a word as a vessel, sleep, hallucinations, picture in picture, doppelgänger that foster deep psychological self-understanding of the entity. In the article we aim to expose some of the abovementioned categories of constructing the world of Dostoyevsky’s works and making up, as defined by the author himself “the realism of higher sense” which, in a slightly modified form, although still clearly visible, is also reflected in Mamleev’s artistic method – metaphysical realism. The main emphasis is put on the categories of sleep and doppelgänger which are the clearest examples of Yuri Vitalevich’s inspiration.
