    This article presents the importance of the Psalms in the life of a Christian in the light of the teaching of Benedict XVI. The Psalms allow us to dialogue with God in His words. They are a true school of prayer: they teach us to turn to God in every state of mind, in every situation and with every emotion that man experiences. The Psalms take on their full meaning and value in the light of the Person of Jesus Christ. In praying the psalms, the Christian addresses himself to the Father in Christ and with Christ, opening himself to a new perspective which has its ultimate interpretative key in the paschal mystery. In this way he comes to know the Saviour better and can deepen his relationship with Him. Praying the Psalms is important in the contemporary context because, in times of crisis of hope and forgetfulness of God, it teaches us to seek reliable support in the Creator and Saviour and to turn always to Him.

Matka Ledóchowska swoim podejściem do Pisma Świętego wyprzedziła II Sobór Watykański. Całe jej życie stanowiło żywą egzegezę słów Chrystusa.
    The aim of this article is to present selected aspects of the biblical spirituality according to writings of Saint Ursula Ledóchowska. The Word of God has the central position in the spirituality of the Founder of the Congregation of the Ursuline Sisters of the Agonizing Heart of Jesus. Mother Ledóchowska is the author of Meditations, that contain considerations based on specific fragments of the Gospel, intended for each day of the year. Her Testament is also full of biblical references and permeated with the evangelical logic. According to Saint Ursula Ledóchowska the meditation of the Word of God in the spirit of faith enables us to learn more and get to know better the person of Jesus Christ and to deepen the relationship with Him. Mother Ledóchowska, by her attitude to the Holy Bible, was ahead of the Second Vatican Council’s time. All her life was an active exegesis of the words of Christ.

    Ursula Ledóchowska addresses the issue of the Christian vocation and tasks of women on many occasions and in various aspects, pointing to Mary as a model to follow. St Ursula’s writings contain a broad vision of the spiritual motherhood, encompassing mothers in the family, all lay women and religious sisters completely dedicated to God. Every Christian woman is called to spiritual motherhood, to guide and support people in their path to God; her mission is the apostolate of quiet, serene love, the apostolate of prayer and the apostolate of sacrifice in the image of Christ. A special task of the mother in the family is to care for the development of the faith of her children. The essence of a nun’s spiritual motherhood is to lead others to Christ by His bride totally devoted to the Holy Trinity.
    Urszula Ledóchowska wielokrotnie i w różnych aspektach podejmuje temat chrześcijańskiego powołania i zadań kobiety, wskazując na Maryję jako na wzór do naśladowania. W pismach św. Urszuli zawarta jest szeroka wizja macierzyństwa duchowego, obejmująca zarówno matki w rodzinie, wszystkie kobiety świeckie, jak i siostry zakonne całkowicie oddane na własność Bogu. Każda chrześcijańska kobieta powołana jest do macierzyństwa duchowego, do prowadzenia i wspierania osób w ich drodze do Boga; jej misją jest apostolstwo: cichej, pogodnej miłości, modlitwy i ofiary na wzór Chrystusa. Szczególnym zadaniem matki w rodzinie jest troska o rozwój wiary jej dzieci. Istotą macierzyństwa duchowego siostry zakonnej jest prowadzenie innych do Chrystusa przez Jego oblubienicę całkowicie oddaną Trójcy Świętej.

    The concept of missionary spirituality falls within the mainstream of Christian spirituality. John Paul II understands it in the personalistic and Christological perspective. According to the Pope’s thought, the missionary spirituality is the fruit of the total submission to the Holy Spirit in the missionary’s aim to become permanently conformed to Christ. This attitude results from a deep union with the Holy Trinity in the experience of the Father through Jesus Christ, in the Holy Spirit. Imitating Christ, the preacher of the Gospel, is essential for an authentic missionary spirituality. Following the ideal of missionary spirituality leads to an authentic inculturation, love of the Church, shapes the proper spirit of prayer and missionary asceticism, dynamises apostolic commitment and lays the foundations for a true dialogue, inseparable from the missionary activity.
    Pojęcie duchowości misyjnej mieści się w głównym nurcie rozumienia duchowości chrześcijańskiej. Jan Paweł II postrzega ją w personalistycznej i chrystologicznej perspektywie. Zgodnie z jego myślą duchowość misyjna jest owocem całkowitego poddania się Duchowi Świętemu w dążeniu misjonarza do trwałego upodobnienia się do Chrystusa. Postawa ta wynika z głębokiego zjednoczenia z całą Trójcą Świętą, zjednoczenia z Ojcem przez Jezusa Chrystusa, w Duchu Świętym. Naśladowanie Chrystusa, głosiciela Ewangelii, jest niezbędnym elementem duchowości misyjnej. Jej praktyka prowadzi do autentycznej inkulturacji, miłości do Kościoła, kształtuje właściwego ducha modlitwy i ascezy misyjnej, dynamizuje zaangażowanie apostolskie i kładzie podwaliny pod prawdziwy dialog, nierozerwalnie związany z misyjną działalnością Kościoła.

    Chrześcijanin może odnaleźć się we współczesnym świecie i aktywnie wpływać na jego przyszłość realizując swoje powołanie tylko w oparciu o określoną duchowość. Najogólniej możemy ją określić jako duchowość chrzcielną. Posługując się pawłową dychotomią: stary i nowy człowiek; śmierć i zmartwychwstanie, wyłania się pełne dynamizmu pojęcie duchowości nowego człowieka. Koncentruje się wokół nowości Chrystusa i nowego życia, którego On jest źródłem. Nowość życia ochrzczonego zasadza się na bezpośredniej, i wciąż budzącej pełen ekscytacji niedosyt relacji, jaka wywiązuje się pomiędzy człowiekiem a Chrystusem, obecnym i działającym w Kościele. Duchowość nowego człowieka jest organiczna, bowiem można mówić o jej integralności w wieloaspektowości. Obejmując duchowość krzyża, zmartwychwstania, śmierci i nowego życia, uległości Duchowi Świętemu, modlitwy, misyjną, antropologiczną oraz włączając się w nurt eklezjologii, trynitologii i eschatologii, dlatego stanowi innowacyjny wkład do właściwego postrzegania duchowości chrześcijańskiej.
    Christians can find themselves in the modern world and actively influence their future, fulfilling their vocation only with the foundation in a particular spirituality. It is spirituality which can most generally be denominated ‘baptismal spirituality’. Making use of Paul's dichotomy: the old man and the new man; death and resurrection, a dynamic notion of the new man's spiritually is emerging. It focuses on the novelty of Christ and the new life of which He is the source. The novelty of the life of a baptized is based on a direct, full of excitement yet never satisfied, relation between man and Christ, who is present and active in the Church. The spirituality of the new man is organic because its integrity is multifaceted, as it encompasses the spirituality of: the Cross, the Resurrection, the death and the new life, submission to the Holy Spirit, prayer, and also missionary and anthropological one, as well as it falls within ecclesiology, trinitology, and eschatology. That is why such comprehension of the spirituality of the new man constitutes an innovative contribution to adequate perception of Christian spirituality.

    Papież Franciszek w wielu miejscach swojego pontyfikatu wypowiada się na temat małżeństwa i rodziny. Zagadnienie to jest mu szczególnie bliskie. Celem artykułu było przeanalizowanie jego nauczania pod kątem odnalezienia w nim najistotniejszych, zdaniem papieża Franciszka, zagadnień dotyczących rodziny chrześcijańskiej. Na podstawie przeprowadzonych badań zauważono, że Papież ujmuje małżeństwo jako autentyczne powołanie osoby ludzkiej. Zauważa, że człowiek zakłada rodzinę, która jest środowiskiem wiary, miejscem przekazywania miłości, ikoną miłości Boga do ludzi. Do cech charakterystycznych rodziny chrześcijańskiej zalicza życie modlitwą, wiarą i w radości bycia razem. Dostrzega wiele niebezpieczeństw grożących współczesnej rodzinie. Nazywa je i jako antidotum podaje skuteczne środki rozwoju życia małżeńskiego i rodzinnego. Przygotowuje również synod biskupów w 2015 roku, który zostanie poświęcony rodzinie.
    The Pope Francis in many places of his pontificate speaks out about marriage and family. This issue is particularly close to him. The aim of the article was to analyse his teaching and to find the most important, in the opinion of the Pope Francis, issues concerning Christian family. On the basis of these studies, it is noted that the Pope recognizes marriage as the authentic vocation of the human person. He notices,  that the man starts a family, which is the environment of faith, the place of transmission of love, an icon of God’s love for people. Characteristics features of Christian family  include life with  prayer, faith and the joy of being together. He sees a lot of dangers threatening the modern family. He names them and as an antidote administers effective means to develop marriage and family life. The Pope is also preparing a synod of bishops in October 2014, which will be dedicated to the family.

    This study opens with a brief reflection on the typological value of the person and name of Josh- ua in the ancient Church. Christians saw the figure of Joshua as a foreshadowing of the saving work of Jesus Christ. According to patristic vision the order of grace in Jesus Saviour replaces the ancient order of the Law. On the basis of homonymy Joshua is associated with Christ. The intent of the study was also to present the historical beginning of the practice to invocate the Lord’s Name. To express the faith in Christ symbolically, the first Christians recurred to the use of numerology and to the nomina sacra. This article argues that the ancient Christian literature contains sustained and substantial references to the name of Jesus as ‘Saviour’. It is possible to find the theological finality in the interpretation of Lord’s name. At every point of the discussion in the Patristic tradition it is found a considerable richness and significance of the name of Jesus (biblical, doctrinal and spiritual).

    God is the foundation and goal of man. The way to God, from the state of disgrace to a happy relationship with God, is also the “foundation” of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola, including the Foundation. In the Foundation there is a Neoplatonic way to God as absolute Good− Truth−Beauty. The spiritual way, continued in Weeks of the Ignatian retreat, includes the stages of purification, enlightenment and unification. This way is thus also an existential principle present in Christian Neoplatonism, having its reception in all cycle of Ignatian Exercises. The article to concern the relationship between the theology of the Foundation and Christian Neoplatonism, with reference to the whole of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola.
    Bóg jest fundamentem i celem człowieka. Droga do Boga, od stanu niełaski do uszczęśliwiającej więzi z Bogiem, stanowi także osnowę ignacjańskich Ćwiczeń duchownych, w tym inicjującego je Fundamentu. W Fundamencie kryje się neoplatońska droga ku absolutnemu Dobru−Prawdzie− Pięknu, czyli ku Bogu. Duchowa droga, kontynuowana w Tygodniach rekolekcji ignacjańskich, obejmuje etapy: oczyszczenia, oświecenia i zjednoczenia. Droga ta jest zatem również egzystencjalną zasadą obecną w chrześcijańskim neoplatonizmie, mającą swoją recepcję w całym cyklu ignacjańskich Ćwiczeń. Artykuł dotyczy związku między teologią Fundamentu a chrześcijańskim neoplatonizmem, w odniesieniu do całokształtu Ćwiczeń duchownych.
