    Occasional magazines were discussed, specifically condolences in the Polish-Slovak comparative approach. We analyzed 44 (22 PL / 22 SK) condolences delivered in the years 2015–2017 by the President of the Republic Andrzej Duda and the President of the Slovak Republic Andrej Kiska in connection with terrorist attacks. The characteristic features of condolence messages sent after terrorist attacks were indicated. Based on the collected material, two compositional diagrams and their obligatory components were distinguished. Many similarities have been found in Polish and Slovak condolence messages, which mainly originates from the diplomatic style, which imposes some formal requirements, but also some differences were noticed.

    This paper combines a review of the strategic security of European countries in 2017, and the creation – on the basis of the international scenario method – of short-, medium- and longterm forecasts. The authors address both the nature of armed conflicts (including the so-called ‘frozen conflicts’) and the escalation of terrorist acts. Also, the issue of the immigration crisis has been highlighted as causing both the rise of radical public sentiments and being a ‘source’ of the smuggling of people (including terrorists) and goods (including weapons which are later used in attacks).

    The article presents problems arising from the amendment to the Penal Code regarding the extension of the borders of defence of necessity. The amendment is aimed at limiting the criminal liability of the victim defending himself or herself against the assailant when the attack takes place in his or her place of residence. The article presents the reasons for the application of the introduction of this new provision, discusses it and points out the doubts that may arise in its context.
    Artykuł przedstawia problematykę związaną z nowelizacją Kodeksu karnego dotyczącą rozszerzenia granic obrony koniecznej. Dokonana nowela ma na celu ograniczenie odpowiedzialności karnej broniącego się pokrzywdzonego przed napastnikiem, gdy do zamachu dochodzi w jego miejscu zamieszania. W artykule zaprezentowano przesłanki stosowania nowego przepisu, omówiono go oraz wskazano wątpliwości mogące pojawić się na jego tle.

    The aim of the publication is to review strategic security of the European Union countries in 2016, and to create of a short-, medium- and long-term forecasting model, based on the model of “international scenarios”. The authors deal with both, armed conflicts (including frozen conflicts) and the problem of growing terrorist acts. It is also stressed that the migration crisis causes an increase in radical sentiment, but also creates trafficking in persons (including terrorists) and goods (including weapons used in subsequent attacks).
    Treścią publikacji jest dokonanie przeglądu strategicznego bezpieczeństwa europejskiego państw europejskich w 2016 roku, i stworzenie – na wzór metody „scenariuszy międzynarodowych” – prognoz krótko-, średnio- oraz długoterminowych. Autorzy zajęli się zarówno wydarzeniami mającymi charakter konfliktów zbrojnych (w tym także tzw. „zamrożonymi konfliktami”), a także problemem nasilających się aktów terrorystycznych. Zwrócono także uwagę na kwestię kryzysu imigracyjnego, powodującego zarówno wzrost nastrojów radykalnych, ale będącego również „źródłem” przemytu osób (w tym terrorystów) oraz towarów (w tym broni, wykorzystywanej następnie w zamachach).

    Częstokroć na gruncie regulacji zbrodni przeciwko ludzkości pojawiają się uzasadnione wątpliwości interpretacyjne co do znaczenia wyrażeń, którymi posługuje się ustawodawca. Pierwsza z tych wątpliwości wiąże się ze stosowaniem aktów prawa międzynarodowego. Z kolei druga sprowadza się do nieprzestrzegania przez ustawodawcę zasad poprawnej legislacji, przyczyniającej się do powstania lub zwiększenia zamętu interpretacyjnego. W tym stanie rzeczy przedmiotem badań należy uczynić to, co stanowi istotny problem w właściwym zdekodowaniu znamion zbrodni przeciwko ludzkości.
    Frequently, on the basis of regulating crimes against humanity, justified interpretational doubts arise as to the meaning of the expressions used by the legislator. The first of these involves parallel application of acts of international law. The second one can be reduced to numerous allegations concerning the legislator’s failure to comply with the principles of correct legislative technique. This creates or increases interpretational confusion of the law. This article presents the most important problems related to the structure of the elements of the crimes against humanity.

    Opis:
    Předkládaný text je věnován problematice verbální agrese, a to zejména v mediálním politickém diskurzu. Agrese má v původním sociálně-psychologickém smyslu původ v instinktivní sebeobraně a v obraně vlastního teritoria, v širším rámci společenské interakce se pak projevuje ve dvou formách, a to jednak jako impulzivní reakce na starší či aktuální podnět, jednak jako komunikační nástroj záměrně užitý při dlouhodobém dosahování vlastních cílů. V předkládané analýze chceme dokázat, že verbální agresi nelze ztotožňovat s pragmalingvisticky chápanou kategorií nezdvořilosti. Jde o primárně útočnou komunikaci, která nemusí být nutně spojována s užitím hrubých či vulgárních výrazů, ale v níž se (a to zejména v prostředí politické komunikace) objevuje útok na tvář oponenta spojený např. s užitím falešných argumentačních strategií.
    The paper deals with the phenomenon of verbal aggression treated as a specific feature of communication in interpersonal exchanges and in mass media as well as in political discourse. The aggression in the socio-psychological sense is based in instinctive self-defense (or defense of one´s own territory); seen in the broader framework of social interaction, aggressive communication occurs in two forms: a/ as a hostile aggression which is impulsive, driven by anger and primarily aiming at harming the target; b/ as an instrumental aggression which is premeditated as a means of retaliation or obtaining some goal. Analyses of dialogues should demonstrate that the aggressive/openly offensive communication can be seen not just as a borderline case of impoliteness but, more accurately, as a parallel phenomenon, a communicative strategy which can use vulgarities but can dispense with them as well. An offensive and inconsiderate communicative strategy does not necessarily imply openly vulgar communication or the usage of derogatory language. On the other hand, using argumentative fallacies, i.e. arguments ad hominem rather than ad rem, may belong to the examples of inconsiderate and offensive communication strategies
