Contemporary socio-cultural situation based on globalization make that many categories, concepts and theories required decontextualization, then recontextualization and redefinition. This process also applies to so intuitively obvious category, which is time. The specificity of the „survival” of time, perception and understanding have changed significantly influenced by current trends of modern times, such as the primacy of pleasure, the cult of success, mainstream consumerism, mass media influence. Because of these issues important and necessary it seems that re-thinking on modern understanding of time as a sociocultural category, which characterizes the quality and style of life of individuals as it exists in the current, post-modern space-time. This article provides theoretical considerations on the nature and specificity of everyday time and festive time in the context of current sociocultural based globalization processes. Assuming that the time and its fulfillment, or lifestyle are subject to the relationship of interdependence, the analysis will undergo a proposition about the consistency / heterogeneity of the individual’s life style presented in the context of the division of temporal existence of the unit on time everyday and festive time. Considerations will address today’s youth. It results from the specific lifestyle of this age group, which is due to the peculiarities of the development phase and the „soak” contemporary trends, in particular understands everyday / celebrating.

A purpose of this text is to describe how the concept of time is used in pedagogical research. An author characterizes research of educational reality in which the described category is used. Thanks to this, the potential of the concept of time was presented. The author concludes that the possibilities of this category are not used in pedagogical research and that the temporal dimension of education offers enormous exploratory possibilities. The text is completed with the characteristics of time structuring in transactional analysis as one of the ways to temporarily conceptualize interpersonal relationships in educational institutions.

The study aimed at diagnosing the opinions of parents of children with mild and moderate intellectual disability on the forms and significance of leisure time behaviour. The study revealed that parents, siblings, or other family members were most often partners of leisure for intellectually disabled children. All the respondents declare that they know what their children are doing in their leisure time and who they spend it with. Leisure time appears to be the area of limitless rehabilitation opportunities, and therefore it should occupy a significant position both in scientific research and (perhaps predominantly) in practical activities undertaken to help children with intellectual disability. Extensive activity of the school, family environment and special education teachers themselves is required to implement leisure time as a vital element in the process of revalidation of intellectually disabled children.

This paper deals with the problems of time and temporality in the poetry of Bogusława Latawiec ranging from one of her first volumes of poetry (Przestrzenie  [Spaces ], 1975) to the recently released Zmowy  [Collusions] (2015). The passage of time, various ways of perceiving and sensing it are the overarching themes of her oeuvre (both prose and poetry). Her poetry, characterized by a remarkable linguistic discipline, a skillful use of formal devices and a close connection between the images and the sonic layer of her poems, highlights the importance of linking the experience of time and its passage with the issues of subjectivity and identity. Personal time converges here with historical, physical and mechanical time. It gains a material dimension: it becomes measurable and even tangible. This is noticeable in the poet’s latest minor volumes: Gdyby czas był ziemią  [If time was the Earth ] (2011) and in Zmowy  [Collusions ] (2015).

A human is a social being, instinctively aspiring to become fully involved with the society. According to the statistics, however, one in ten Polish people is forced to overcome various problems in order to be active in the society. What are the main problems for a person with intellectual disability and their career? One of the main barriers for persons with intellectual disability, are the difficulties with the perception of the time; comprehending the very idea of the time flow and learning to use the watch or the calendar. A simple and cost-effective way to develop these skills is the training in time comprehension (‘The Time Workshop’), which is the subject of this article.

In considering the titular opposition - music between nature and culture - we shall refer to such categories as time, with its levels and zones, and cultural communication. Conceptions of time. In an archaic situation dating from the Palaeolithic era, people lived, and cultures functioned, in sacred time, with no notion o f secular time. Another conception of time comes from the Bible, where we first encounter a ‘straightening’ of time, delineating its direction from the Creation to the Final Judgment (inopposition to ancient views on time, associating it with the wheel, with circular motion, dying and birth). Aristotle drew on Plato’s concept of time. He reduced it to the dimension of the human world, thereby initiating reflection on the ‘present’, which would endure in European thought through Saint Augustine to Edmund Husserl and our contemporary times. From this perspective, music is a process: playing, listening or participating in a musical event. Levels of time. These are as follows: atemporality (contains only simultaneity), prototemporality (contains temporal order, but also simultaneity), eotemporality (besides the features belonging to the aforementioned levels, also contains temporal intervals), biotemporality (as above, and also the present), and finally nootemporality (the human mind, awareness of time). The zones of time, meanwhile, comprise the zone of the psychological present (the motion of one’s own body, the perception of the sensory organs, natural language, musical language), the zone of performances of works (the shaping of form, including musical form), the zone of the temporal environment (three cycles: the diurnal, lunar and annual), and the zone of individual and communal life (the time from birth to death, and also memory, which reveals the sense of music from many perspectives). Cultural communication. In considering this phenomenon, we develop Roman Jakobson’s popular model of communication, expanded to encompass Karl Popper’s model of ‘three worlds’, through which we can propose a layered model of reality and, derived from that model, a concept of music as an efflorescence of nature in the culture of man. This is presented in detail in a series of figures (19-23 and especially 27).

The objective of this study is to reflect on the Spanish time expressions that function as deictic elements. Deixis is a phenomenon strictly related to aspects of a pragmatic nature since it depends on the situational context in which the participants of the communicative act are. We want to search, discover and describe the pragmatic conditioning that determines the appearance and operation of this type of element in Spanish. Our idea is to demonstrate that in time deictic expressions the semantic content is not enough for speakers to use these expressions properly. It is necessary to resort to information that exceeds the level of meaning and find guidelines for the good interpretation of the expression in the situational and personal context. The group of time deictics is not heterogeneous from the formal point of view. It includes simple elements (for example, adverbs) and more or less complex elements (noun and prepositional phrases). We will focus on this second group and, above all, on the nominal constructions that include determinants and temporal adjectives since in this type of structure each constituent element performs a different semantic-pragmatic function and only the combination of these allows us to discover the definitive value of the set.

Musical sense-making relies on two distinctive strategies: tracking the moment-to-moment history of the actual unfolding and recollecting actual and previous sounding events in a kind of synoptic overview. Both positions are not opposed but complement each other. The aim of this contribution, therefore, is to provide a comprehensive framework that provides both conceptual and operational tools for coping with the sounds. Five major possibilities are proposed in this regard: (i) the concepts of perspective and resolution, which refer to the distance the listener takes with respect to the sounding music and the fine-grainedness of his/her discriminative abilities; (ii) the continuous/discrete dichotomy which conceives of the music as one continuous flow as against a division in separate and distinct elements; (iii) the in time/outside-of-time distinction, with the former proceeding in real time and the latter proceeding outside of the time of unfolding; (iv) the deictic approach to musical sense-making, which conceives of an act of mental pointing to the music, and (v) the levels of processing, which span a continuum between primitive sensory reactivity to actual sounding stimuli and high-level symbolic processing.

The article examines the Enlightenment ideas in the part of Vera Mutafchieva’s work. The time of Kardzhali, a specific period of chaos and marauding in the Ottoman Empire in the 18th and 19th century, is a period of the formation of enlightenment processes that Mutafchieva depicted through images and themes in her novels and scientific studies. The author is an Ottoman specialist known worldwide and one of the greatest novelists in Bulgaria. In her novels, she portrays philosophical and geopolitical ones that characterize the historical epoch embodied in her works.

Time travel is one of the most popular themes in science fiction. Usually it is discussed from a perspective of technological and scientific possibilities for the realization of fantastic visions. Researchers focus on logical paradoxes implied by traveling back in time. The author of this article, inspired by David Wittenberg’s Time Travel: The Popular Philosophy of Narrative, draws attention to metanarrative functions of time travel theme, which becomes a challenge for writers and narrative techniques.

Тhis article analyses Macedonian phrasemes with zoonymic component denoting time. Zoonyms mainly came from surrounding environment which was expected having in mind the fact that man often reaches for something that is well known to him in an attempt to understand something far and abstract, such as the category of time. What distinguishes the analyzed units from the rest of the phraseological material with zoonymic components is their relative neutrality, bearing in mind that in general the zoonymic phrases are negatively colored. Free time of children and adolescents is an important and interesting issue addressed by scholars of many disciplines. The article presents the theoretical basis of knowledge on contemporary free time paradoxes, the influence of the natural, cultural, and social environment on the organization and forms of spending free time by children and young people. The text describes factors facilitating and hindering the organization of leisure time of children and young people living in urban areas, as well as selected results of research and reports on leisure time of children and young people spending time in the city. The theoretical considerations examined in the article and the research results cited enabled conclusions for pedagogical practice concerning the free time of children and adolescents in urban areas.

Autorka w artykule proponuje analizę teoretycznych i praktycznych aspektów spiralnej koncepcji czasu. W pierwszej części wyjaśnia znaczenie pojęć: czas i wieczność, a następnie omawia konstrukcję spiralnej koncepcji czasu. Kolejne części pracy odnoszą się kolejno do aspektów czasowych w prawie, spojrzenia na czas w świetle nauki Kościoła katolickiego i teologii (perspektywa wieczności) oraz do zastosowania spiralnej koncepcji czasu w normach prawa kanonicznego. Przedmiotowa koncepcja stanowi syntezę dwóch innych teorii czasu, tj. cyklicznej i linearnej. Kościelny prawodawca korzysta ze spiralnej koncepcji czasu i konstruuje normy prawne mające na celu pomoc ludziom w odnalezieniu sensu ich życia – wieczności. Istotne jest, aby ukierunkować ich na troskę o jakość przeżywanego czasu – przemianę chronos w kairos. Współcześnie powszechnym doświadczeniem staje się problem nieustannego braku czasu, pośpiechu i lęku przed śmiercią, związany w pewien sposób z utratą perspektywy wieczności. W tym kontekście kairos to czas niosący nadzieję, dający szansę na wyjście z kryzysu i rozpoczynanie od nowa – korzystając z dotychczasowych doświadczeń, powracając do pewnych zdarzeń, lecz przeżywając je niejako w ruchu spiralnym, na nowym, wyższym etapie rozwoju. Autorka zwraca również uwagę, że prawo kanoniczne jest podporządkowane misji Kościoła, która polega na prowadzeniu wiernych do wieczności. Oznacza to konieczność ciągłego rozwoju i dążenia do chrześcijańskiej doskonałości.
In the article the author proposes the analysis of theoretical and practical aspects of a spiral theory of the time. In the fi rst part she explains the meaning of the terms: time and eternity, afterwards she elaborates the structure of the spiral conception of the time. Consecutive parts of the article refer to temporal aspects in law, the time in the light of the Catholic Church’s knowledge and theology (the perspective of eternity) and applications of the spiral conception of time in provisions of the ecclesiastical law. This conception of time connects circular and linear theories of time. The canon law legislator uses the spiral conception of time and lays down legislative acts which should contribute to the regaining the meaning of life – eternity. It is important to help people take good care of how they live and spend their time in order to transform chronos into kairos. The contemporary problem of a continuous lack of time is becoming more pressing. Living in a great hurry and fear of death are connected with loss of the perspective of eternity. In view of the above, the author draws the conclusion that kairos is a time that gives hope, a time that gives a chance to overcome crisis and to start over, making use of the previous experiences, getting back on to some occurrences, but experiencing them in a spiral growth, being on a new, superior stage of advancement. The author also pays attention to Catholic mission’s domination and canon law’s subordination. The pursuit of eternity requires ceaseless progress and growing in Christian perfection.
